i think that's as good of an endorsement of UC2 as any we'll hear.

wow, demon souls next tuesday...........followed by uncharted 2 the following week..........followed by ratchet:aCiT 2 weeks after that?!!!!!! christmas hits all of october as far as i'm concerned!

getupahh5328d ago (Edited 5328d ago )

It was some amazing praise.

I believe it would be safe to say that this will be a VERY good game.

JoySticksFTW5328d ago (Edited 5328d ago )

G4TV have long since had MS' nads on their chin (and I own all three consoles now, so no bias), but they've really had some high praise for PS3 exclusives as of late.

Congrats to ND. Their hard work is paying off.

And congrats to Sony fans who have had to endure extreme media bias to reach this point... and get to play a great game to boot

blusoops5328d ago

God of war collection a week and a half after Ratchet!

beavis4play5328d ago

i'll be getting that too. i also just got zombie apocylpse. i like that a lot as well....AND i'm still playing the heck out of batman (love the free dlc!), not to mention trying to work in time to revisit KZ2! this is a great time to own a ps3.

Anybody else who thinks otherwise rides this bus...

lol :)

Marceles5328d ago

I like how he said the game is so well put together is that no individual thing stands out, it's just an all-around great game. That's how all games should be. It looks good, plays good...that's it. Not looks good except it goes down to 59 FPS or a game was fun but then there was a totally new sequence where the game started having "too much variety". Reviewers kill me with the nitpicking stuff. Is it good or not?

GameGambits5328d ago

I think the most insane thing to take away from that video is that Sessler is married!!! WTF?! I mean if the Sess man looking as goofy as he does can land a woman then there's hope for us all right? :P

badz1495328d ago

it sure as hell IS awesome! can't wait!

LiquifiedArt5328d ago

... Look at how ABOVE and BEYOND the norm a PS3 game HAS to be to be praised at all. Just think about that.

Watching NGS2 get lower scores then NG2 is ridiculous. Any consumer can see you get more and it plays better on the latter, there is no reason the reviews should be skewed, but this is common place these days.

Just another reason I will NEVER support the Xbox Division (and soon the windows division).

Mr Logic5328d ago

I can't figure out why the g4tv review has not been added to metacritic.

harrisk9545328d ago

I am almost positive that G4 used to be on Metacritic. I don't know why it was removed.

SaiyanFury5328d ago

Wow, I stopped watching X-Play as I found they had a longstanding bias against the PS3. Lord knows there's been other games that I thought deserved a better score than they gave, Sessler really stepped up and gave personal reasons why Uncharted 2 is so good. I'm glad there's finally a game that makes him step up and recognise what can be seen on the system. Naughty Dog has done the great deed of making a truly great game on the system that can't be had anywhere else. Uncharted 2, impossible on 360? I don't know, but Naughty Dog has made it possible on PS3, and since it's being published by Sony, you'll only have such an experience on PS3. The game is garnering perfect scores on so many sites, it's hard to deny it. Even the US official PlayStation magazine gave it a perfect score. I look forward to it's release.

I figured it would be almighty. I could tell just from the way the character controlled in the beta. Flawless. Pure. Fun.

Gambit075328d ago

Amazing praise in that video.

Sarick5328d ago

Looking like a racing game playing in the background on the right side?

Did you notice the 2nd screen?

This is funny, that even while endorsing Uncharted 2 another game is being shown beside it. I'm sure I saw that logo before.

DavidMacDougall5328d ago

Prity sure it was Forza, hes probably trying to stay neutral

DSI5328d ago

There is no doubt that this was a great game, but Sessler was being just a little bit too much of a drama queen in that soap box...I though he was going to spooge all over the camera...lol

Sarick5328d ago (Edited 5328d ago )

"Prity sure it was Forza, hes probably trying to stay neutral"

Do you think he's embarrassed to give uncharted praise? It's not like every other reviewer out there isn't saying the same good things about uncharted 2.

Trying to be neutral at this at this point doesn't seem necessary. I know Forza is a MS published game BTW. So. If uncharted 2 is as good as he says, why would he need another game in the background to prove he's being neutral?

The_Darkest_Red5328d ago

Pretty sure it was a joke buddy... :p

Glad to see someone so eloquently explain what it is that people, or at least I, expect from games. Not the pixels, or frames, or physics, but the impression it leaves - I've a feeling this will be up there with SOTC and Indigo Prophecy as the few games that made me say "wow." OMG!ROXXORZ happens almost every month, but a humbling, explanation defying 'wow' comes along so rarely.

Sadly, I'll have to delay playing the game for a day or two, because the sixth book in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy comes out on the 12th, and I personally consider that tome the closest thing I have to a Bible.

beavis4play5328d ago

but you can switch off - read for a few hours, game for a few hours.

i do understand though.....if terry brooks came out with a new "shannara" novel, i'd have to clear half of the 13th for that.(but i'd still be playing UC2 during the other half)

Snoogins5328d ago

Just finished watching... OK I didn't watch because the game was playing in the background, so to avoid spoilers, I listened... and I whole-heartedly agree with Sessler. I've been gaming for over 20 years and I know the feeling of which Sessler speaks, it draws you in, surrounds you, and when you leave it you will always think about it and want to get home to it as soon as you can. Yes, what I described sounds like loving your mate, but in this case I'm talking about a blissful experience of gaming. I haven't felt what he talks about for a game in a long time and hope to experience it soon when I pick up Uncharted 2.

God I need a woman. lol But you'll do for now. <kisses his PS3>

gameraxis5328d ago

i too have been gaming for a while, but i don't think u need to have to experience it... i think its actually why we are gamers, because we can detach ourselves enough to get into the game...

also, i believe sometimes it has nothing to do with whether the game is good or ASTONISHING... the last time i remember truly enjoying myself during the ENTIRETY of a game was Resistance 1. I'm talking just single player marathons... something about the first resistance that clicked with me i don't know why... there have been awesome experiences since then, but nothing that encompassed me as much as that. That, and Heavenly Sword, had a real personality about it... They were also the First "next gen" games i played, so maybe that had something to do with it...

Stationfan5328d ago

This guy is funny and awsome, he says that his review and praise
"doesnt have anything to do with Microsoft's check bouncing" LOL

Sarick5328d ago (Edited 5328d ago )

I noticed another game being demoed to the > right of Adam. Why would that game be running?

My guess is it was an indirect sponsorship plug or something. Why else would it be so obviously placed in this shot. It takes up at least 1/8th of the video shot. At times Adam leans into the uncharted picture to show more of the 2nd screen. This is to much to be excused as mere coincidence.

"doesnt have anything to do with Microsoft's check bouncing"

It's actually very funny that they would do this while showing this other game. Normally when they do a soapbox they have a set stage with the reviewed title and the reporter.

Currently playing Drakes Fortune on crushing, next will be to replay Among Thieves, but I'm sure it still holds up today.

P_Bomb1461d ago (Edited 1461d ago )

Recently re-platinumed 1-3. Uncharted 2 aged better than I even expected. I enjoyed it more now than I did a decade ago. It’s more polished than 1, tighter than 3 and Yemen in 3 was gorgeous. Shambhala out-prettied Ubar though. 60fps w higher res’ made for a damn good rerun.

Abnor_Mal1460d ago

Question: When you say Uncharted2 aged better than expected, are you talking about the original PS3 game or the remastered collection on PS4. I ask because I think that a remastered version of the game would look and play better than the original.

I doubt that the original ran at 60 frames, how many years old is the remastered collection anyway.

I need to replay the original trilogy along with the collection, not a fan of the collection trophy of beating levels in a set time and don't think the originals required that for platinum.

P_Bomb1460d ago (Edited 1460d ago )

@abnor_mal
It’s true that the remasters have upped the resolution and given it 60fps, but the base game is the same. The art design and base textures/physics/ animations are the same yet still look contemporary. More-so than UC1 which isn’t as tight, or UC3 in some cases which I found a bit clunky in close quarters.

UC2 level design was a great evolution in bringing the verticality from the jungle into rural/urban settings while maintaining smooth animation transitions. Drake still moves better than the ginger in Star Wars Jedi. Outdoor areas are better lit.

UC2 also has more action and better pacing imo, which helps when replaying a game 10 years later. Kept me engaged.

You don’t need to time trial for platinum. They stuck the speedrun trophies in a seperate extended dlc category so have no fear.

MadLad1461d ago

I thought the originals were good, but not great. I understand that puts me in the minority here. That said, Uncharted 4 was freaking fantastic.

Profchaos1461d ago (Edited 1461d ago )

Yeah I understand the hate for 4 prior to playing it I was firmly against it and felt like 3 wrapped things up already but now after playing it I think it was the best in the franchise.

Now I look back at two and I feel like I'm playing an on the rails shooter everything is so tightly scripted including the infamous train scene you simply can't make a mistake

Rimeskeem1461d ago

I think Uncharted 2 is a lot like AC2. Both games took the idea and basically improved it in every single way.

Movefasta19931460d ago

Uc2, AC2,Halo2, Soul calibur 2, Killzone 2, Infamous 2 , Dishonored 2 and a few more. The only negative thing I have against uc2, and imo it annoyed me,are the blue apes, uncharted 1 handled the super natural far better.
