Peter Moore Says 360 Failure Rates a 'Moving Target'

Mike Antonucci recently chatted with Microsoft exec. Peter Moore across a number of topics, including touching on the seemingly high number of faltering Xbox 360s, despite Microsoft claiming a "3% failure rate."

Antonucci passed on the story of one user who replaced his Xbox 360 twice in the last seven months and wondered whether Microsoft's been dodging the real issue. Moore refuses to comment on specific experiences with the hardware, but says people should be focused on how Microsoft treated them as a result of the failure, not the failure itself.

"I can't comment on failure rates, because it's just not something - it's a moving target. What this consumer should worry about is the way that we've treated him. Y'know, things break, and if we've treated him well and fixed his problem, that's something that we're focused on right now. I'm not going to comment on individual failure rates because I'm shipping in 36 countries and it's a complex business," responded Peter Moore.

Man this guy is good. I believe with his footwork he should at the very least be able to give Muhammed Ali a run for his money in his hayday. Juke and Jive Pete...watch out for that hook.

Customer Service! lol

"They treated me great. In fact they were kind enough to charge £83 ($165) for the repairs which I was totally responsible for. I mean if I hadn't played the thing it'd be fine."

lol!
MS & Moore are retarded!

All I have seen today is raving fanboy antics. Seems like every post in the last 24 hours has been nothing but one sided negativity. I bet by the time I post this there will be a 360 fanboy right there to oppose this young sony enthusiast.

crazyman6209d ago

Why is Silverwolf a "young Sony enthusiast" whilst any gamer who prefers the 360 is a "360 fanboy"? Not having a go, just asking.

Silverwolf6209d ago

Before making a negative comment on me or taking away one of my bubbles. You should have ask me why did I make that comment? Instead you sound like a MS fan boy who can't take criticism. Just to let you know (and most here know already) I went thru two 360 systems that died on me. And yet Mr Moore sits there like he doesn't give a sh!t. It's not how fast you can get a console back to me. It's making sure the quality of your product only improves and that the chances of me getting another faulty system is slim to none. But that's not the case with MS.

crazyman6209d ago (Edited 6209d ago )

who me?

I never left any feedback nor do I have any objection to your comment. I was merely asking why he used those turns of phrase. I never doubted the validiy of your comment or said you were a fanboy, I was just curios as to how he thought he could judge your comment differently to somebody who hadn't yet said anything.

so calm down

BTW who's Jack?

Silverwolf6208d ago

I was referring to Pheneus. Sorry I should have been more specific :).

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM3d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife3d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit2d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife2d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!
