Real Triggers Review (PS3 Hardware)

That Gaming Site writes: Ever wish your PS3 controller was a little more like your 360 controller? Namely I'm talking about the flat, broken-feel of the L2/R2 buttons. Well thanks to a small invention by a company called PDP, you can make big changes and give your Dual Shock 3 triggers. We introduce, "Real Triggers" and they'll only cost you five bucks.

I had no problems with either the 360 or the ps3 triggers. I guess people just nitpick too much about every thing.

Dimitri5472d ago

I can only recommend this to any hardcore FPS gamer that like fast paced action ;).

FragMnTagM5472d ago

The trigger buttons they are selling have too much curve. Somewhere in between what the DS3 currently has and these triggers is the sweet spot. They look like they stick up way too high.

Good idea, but it looks poorly implemented.

goflyakite5472d ago

But with the PS3 FPS's the standard shooting button is R1 not R2. Unlike the 360 where the back trigger is.

I usually never have my finger even on the back triggers on my DS3, let alone have them on long enough to have them slip off.

INehalemEXI5472d ago (Edited 5472d ago )

They work well 4 me with certain games, like Warhawk. They do pinch you sometimes if your not careful though.

stevenhiggster5472d ago

I have had these for ages, PSW magazine in the UK gave them away with one edition over a year ago. I think they are brilliant and I don't see why Sony didn't just make them like that in the first place. They are so much better for driving games, and any game for that matter.

J8M7G5472d ago

I had these free in a Playstation magazine too, ages ago. I even went out and bought more for my other controllers.
They also fly off satisfyingly when you get pissed off without damaging the triggers or controllers. :)

IdleLeeSiuLung5472d ago (Edited 5472d ago )

These are great and make a huge improvement on the crappy shape of the triggers on the DS3. My fingers keep slipping off and accidentally trigger the trigger. These RealTriggers are a godsend even though they slow your reaction time slightly.

Only complaint is price, although fairly low priced relative to a game, but expensive for a piece of plastic. I heard of people having these pop off, but I haven't experienced that myself.

This explains exactly how I feel about the DS3 triggers:

"I no longer felt like my index finger was holding on to the edge of a steep cliff; they now held firmly into place and I never had to give my fingers a second thought. "

Raz5471d ago

Yeah, my left trigger is kinda loose now - causes problems sometimes. Sony could've done a better job with the ergonomics.

talltony5471d ago

never slip off as it is. I have never had that problem. I prefer L1 and R1 to aim and shoot anyways. I have heard these triggers break off when playing sometimes from older reveiws.

Beg For Mercy5472d ago

bought these a long time ago they work great but after a while they wear off and they start to just pop off after a lot of heavy use.

ELite_Ghost5472d ago

i think the reg ps3 triggers are way better for driving games.

Doomster19715472d ago (Edited 5472d ago )

I had the same problem as you and I kept loosing the bloody thing's. My solution? Super glue. Now they never come off. :) They do make the controller much better though. So much easier with driving games etc.

Spike475472d ago

in a game, I rather die and get owned than mess up the buttons on my controller.
Especially since I'm on a very tight budget. :(

peeps5471d ago

they just clip on/clip off. If you decided you no longer wanted to use them you could take them off and you'd never know u had them on...

ghostface5472d ago

I like my controller the way it is, but I don't mind enhancements to my hardware, so I might pick the triggers up.

White-Sharingan5472d ago

I recommend them. Friend bought me these triggers and they work great! and they are pretty cheap too

Cajun Chicken5472d ago

I got these free with a magazine once...I HATE these things!

andron5472d ago

They just get in the way. At lest these give you an option if you don't like the standard design...

They aren't going to give more. We are talking about a company that has rereleased an 13 year old game at least 5 times.

Doesn't seem to be that bad of a month. Got a bit of something for everyone.

Please do not support braid anniversary edition. Don't support Phil phish, he's a very despicable person, a a cry baby.

One example

Tacoboto1d 16h ago

Wrong developer. Phil Phish was the developer behind Fez.

Jonathan Blow was behind Braid. If you're gonna cancel culture, don't take down the wrong indie...

CrimsonWing691d 7h ago

Man, I don’t know why, but it also irks me when people try to tell others what to do. Fez was an awesome game, I couldn’t care less if the dev was a douche.

This is just extra cringe since the person actually doesn’t know what they’re talking about 🤦‍♂️

remixx11623h ago

Welcome to the internet crimson

shinoff218316h ago(Edited 16h ago)

I wasn't cancel culturing shit. Phil phish is a complete douche. Did you bother to watch the video? Probably not.

I was wrong but call me cancel culture is just plain dumb also

Also crimson.

As you I'm human and we make mistakes. That was a mistake I mixed the games up. Shit happens. So go cringe yourself

Honest mistake, if you can watch that video and support the guy. Then I guess your in the same camp

Tacoboto15h ago

You were wrong and that's that. Don't be so angry.

And yeah, that is a case example of cancel culture. It was a dozen years ago, he's apologized since, had Japanese developers rationalize with his remark, barely has done anything in the industry since Fez, and yet here you are, not even remembering the one game he made...

TimeShift - FPS Game Standing the Test of Time

TimeShift had a fairly muted launch in 2007, and while it doesn't rewrite the FPS rulebook it does offer an enjoyable campaign even now.

gurp2d ago

I played this on PC when it came out, it was actually good

Astrokis2d ago

Same! For its time I liked it a lot

PrinceOfAnger2d ago

It's a good game need a new one.

CantThinkOfAUsername1d 23h ago

Never heard of this game until someone mentioned it here last year. Played it and it basically represents most games from the PS3/Xbox360 era—good graphics, amazing physics, and extremely fun gameplay (time powers rock), but barely any story, weird pacing, and at least one annoying AF level. I finished Prototype last week and the same applies, except Strike Teams. Fuck Strike Teams.

isarai1d 22h ago (Edited 1d 22h ago )

I miss when ganes used to experiment with physics and world interaction

RiseNShine1d 3h ago

This game actually works on a decent phone using Winlator 6.1, amazing times.
