Capcom explains pricing difference for Devil May Cry 4 in PAL-areas

Some consumers in Europe and Australia might have noticed it already. The Xbox 360 version of Devil May Cry 4 is a bit cheaper than the Playstation 3 version in all of the PAL-areas. The Xbox 360 version has a suggested retail price of €59.99, compared to €69.99 on the Playstation 3. Dutch website PS3Only contacted Capcom for an explanation:

"I didn't realize we were the only publisher doing this. In actuality, it's not that the PS3 version has been made more expensive, but that our business model has allowed us to discount the Xbox 360 version."

This is especially strange, considering the price of both version in America en Japan is exactly equal.

nn5937d ago (Edited 5937d ago )

they should ask them when they will apply the same business model also for ps3.
for people in germany here you can get it for 57.99
http://www.spielegrotte.de/...
the xbox 360 version is also cheaper (48.99)
http://www.spielegrotte.de/...

on playasia both are 40.84Euro

why somebody would disagree?
for giving a link where you can save money when buying the game on the platform you choose?

Ju5937d ago

Those games have "uncut" in their description. If that's what I think it is, its import, and probably they take advantage of the Eur - $ exchange ratio.

Zuhk5936d ago

Xbox will have to pay a subscription to Capcom to play the game.

Skerj5937d ago

Still BS any way you try to spin it.

TheHater5937d ago

Wow, capcom is really f**king the ps3 owners over.

Mr_Kuwabara5937d ago (Edited 5937d ago )

Tell me about it, this gen, CAPCOM has abandoned Sony. Seriously at least bring Monster Hunter 3 to the PS2 for f***s sake!

TheHater5937d ago

I know dude. I really want a next gen Monster Hunter game. But rent the one for the Wii, and if I think it fun, then I will get it. But I want one for the ps3.

kewlkat0075937d ago

even if they tell you the real reason, it probably does not matter. Capcom "dammed if you do and dammed if you don't."

I got a solution: Boycott and don't buy the game if you wanna make some noise.

I don't think Capcom reads these threads..

TheHater5937d ago

lol...so true. I was going to boycott devil may cry 4, but I am unable too. it too good

gunnerforlife5937d ago

i know how u feel even if i tried boycoting the game i still couldnt do it:(

niall775937d ago

the only thing I want from you is dead rising 2

Lord Cheese5937d ago

dead rising 1 with a decent save game system would do me fine - that game is so good but with that awful save system it seems hopelessly broken!

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC10d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos9d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Cacabunga9d ago

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer10d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

monkey60210d ago (Edited 10d ago )

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya10d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde10d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP10d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.

Bless the adorably all digital future! When it comes to PC games its not as big of an issue because there should always be another way to access single player games, but still, I hate to see anything get delisted.

Aaroncls787d ago

Well, DMC4 special edition has a lot of issues to run from Steam.
I have to get a modded executable to even be able to run the game on Windows 10.
Not sure if it is because the game runs in DirectX10 or what, but it sucks they have not even tried to fix it.

Sephiroushin86d ago (Edited 86d ago )

DMC4 Special Edition is not delisted, it was just the standard version, it has nothing to do with issues of performance or anything alike. Its just that Capcom probably do not want to sell the standard version, neither the standalone DMC3 version.

Devil May Cry 4 - 15 Years of Nero

Devil May Cry 4 launched 15 years ago today, bringing with it new character Nero. Has it stood the test of time?

Knushwood Butt446d ago

Never liked it and I think I got it day 1.

Cheap Capcom design of half a game that you have to walk through twice.

5 isn't much different in that department. Encounter the same boss three times with three different characters? Endless warehouses or alien-like tunnels that all look the same.

chrisx446d ago

In DMC 5, it's 4 times you encounter the same bosses if you count the Vergil dlc lol

Knushwood Butt446d ago

Yeah, I'm only up to chapter 19 so the total count can only go up!

kevco33446d ago

No troll, I always preferred DMC.

No haters, please.

Knushwood Butt446d ago

I'm actually with you there, but DMC has that terrible writing. Alex Garland isn't it?

FallenAngel1984446d ago

Nero will always stand the rest of time against Donte and Viola
