"Only biased PS fans would defend paying more to a corporation rather than an option that's cheaper for the consumer overall.“

How can you possibly come to this conclusion?

First, you pay for a subscription.

Then download games. But games will eventually leave the service. You will again need to buy them if you want to play them ever again. Or if you cancel your subscription. Right?

Eventhough this may NOT ha...

The 'day-one' feature is the breaker or maker with GP, business-wise.

GP is no Netflix.

Because, from all the Marvel's Avengers to Sicarios, illustratively speaking, they all had their box office money. Before they had entered Netflix.

This concept shows you what Microsoft have actually put themselves into.

And what situation studios put themselves into if they go day-one into GP.

You can probably apply this for Sony or Nintendo titles, too, but:

If you look closer at the scores above 90 on MC and some of the outlets names, it at least raises a little red flag about some of the mags impartiality.

If they score HB2 with above 95, where will they go from there if HB3 improves on all the negatives?

It's a solid game, with benchmark graphics. But everything above an 80 (which is still a high-end rating for a 5 ho...

I understand the difference between an explanation and just a statement, that's for sure.

You came back replying. Why not use the time then at least for explaining your argument to people?

Maybe this time?

Why? Just explain. You seem confident in your judgement.

Yeah, obviously playtesting the shit out of crappy lastgen versions, because it's four years into PS5 and Series already.

You know what I have thought about lately?

What IF Sony (if Sony is legally allowed to do that ofc), what if Sony counters and announces the Xbox day-one strategy for select titles such as CoD?

Putting CoD for free on PS Plus lowest tier. And just earning from the microtransaction revenues.

Frequently, I spot this calculation by people:

"30 million subscriptions x $10 per month = 300 million a month, that's huge money every month for Xbox."

And I always wonder:

Even if these numbers are true: Who is gonna tell them there are over 400 games getting paid every month just for being on GP? That's less than $1 million bucks for each game on average. So what's left?

There's simply no ...

The funny thing is though:

Death Stranding was intended and completely designed to be a delivering goods, re-connecting humans while 'walking through wasteland' game.

And, at least for me, I took joy out of this calming choice of game design, which actually was a pretty simple yet fascinating idea.

Ofc it's not the same.

But also: without revenue, there is no profit.

Either way, there is no rocket science behind.

As a company that's always been making billions out of the Playstation console and every subsequent income segment, it's all about balancing their first party games releases to ensure console hardware getting sold-through in the first place.

Sony shouldn't overthink it too much here.

IF internally their numbers show them the Playstation console's revenue stream is still well...

@itsmebryan

Why do you think that console sales don't matter IF a company decides to build a console and enter the console market?

Ok, let us be honest here:

Hypothetically speaking, IF the ABK deal would not had been finalized: what would be the Xbox brands state now, according to the very latest quarter report from MS?

It once again would have been dead negative.

Honestly, what has changed here specifically?

Xbox Game Studios' games had always been released simultanousely on PC and Xbox. You can look way back to the very first Xbox for that. Can't you?

Having said that, what's actually behind the "they put their their games everywhere now" argument?

The ONLY thing that has changed, at least in my perceiption of the Xbox brand, is Game Pass. But even Game Pass isn't the ...

Geez.

That's almost a solid 4:1 ratio in favor of the PS5 compared to Xbox. In just the fourth year of the console generation.

So, gaming revenue is only up because of AB.

Hardware revenue has tanked being 31% down year-on-year.

Xbox services and content would only be up 1% without AB.

All in all summing up at a loss of 350 million USD.

I have to agree.

I can even imagine playing a 9hrs God of War or The Last of Us.

I think it's something many developers should truly evaluate on. Shorter AAA titles, reducing costs, equal revenues, lesser development time, more games.

I really do hope that Helldivers 2 reminds Sony of how they've once started in gaming.

Wether small nor big, Sony just made games.

Or reached out for IPs, wether small nor big, and supported those third party studios with resources, returning an exclusively published title.

Congrats to everyone involved, it's wonderful seeing all these great news about Helldivers 2.

Microsoft is "all-in" now.

At least that's something we should at least recognize?

The next five years, whatever the outcome, are likely to decide if their recent actions will pay off.

They are determined to not leave the video game and console business.

Simply pointing this out doesn't mean anything if it's going to be succesful or if they will really redeem themselves.

As far...
