did you even read the article before you made that ridiculous comment? The only person bringing that up is you.

I mean you don't necesarrily need to have a PS5. This is also just targeting PC only users who maybe were on the fence about VR. Now they can buy the headset and the adapter and still find use for it.

That being said, that's probably a really small market though to target.

based on the interactions with you that I've had over the years with VR, It's crazy to see you talking like this. VR has always been such a great and novel way to experience games in a new way. To see you this disappointed.. man, I know the feeling. I wanted this thing to be so good, and I've had some good times with it, but I feel like Sony is going to step away at this point and let the PC market take over.

not gonna lie, when I saw the adapter I immediately thought of the horrible processing box from the original PSVR. but it's to be expected, you can't just plug this headset into an open USB-C slot on your computer.

@generic - that's even worse.

Now people can stop begging for Alyx on PSVR2. Just go buy it on your PC, lol.

While I'm happy I'll be able to play some of my PCVR games with the added resolution and other features over my Index or Q3, it's still a little sad to see Sony sort of pointing their hardware away from their own console. Hopefully Sony release all their PSVR2 exclusive titles as PC titles for more people to enjoy.

I just hope this isn't Sony pulling out and ...

it's possible we could see updates to enable these features down the road. Especially for titles that exist both on PSVR2 and PCVR.

I'm gonna play it, I never played the original, so I will give it a go. Honestly it looks much better than some of the initial reveal trailers.

the cinematic was very well done, but if you aren't a fan of Overwatch style games, this won't be for you.

3rd party wise, sure. First party wise? Absolutely not. I mean you can probably count the 1st party software on one hand.

the Q3 has quite high resolution actually, and it's rendered across the entire screen. Let's not kid ourselves, maybe 1 or 2 titles is using the native resolution of the PSVR2 headset

too bad it'll push software sales away from Sony.

as opposed to a Quest 3 that requires no cables, or a single cable if you want to pair it with your PC right? ;)

While the tech is better in the PSVR2 for the most part (I own an Index, Q3 and PSVR2), I'm still let down by certain things. Headset rumble is a novelty. Eye tracking has only been used well on a couple of titles.

to each their own I guess, but to me this doesn't give me confidence that Sony is fully investing in their own hardware,...

yes there is, but with them allowing you to play on PC, which games are Sony telling you to play? PC VR titles? How is that good business for Sony at that point? Great that they get the hardware sale I guess, but then all software goes away from them.

so now Sony is going to sell me an adapter I have to buy so I can use the headset on my PC? Gee, how generous of you :P

While it's great that I will be able to use this headset instead of my Index or Q3 for PC only VR titles, it's still a sad realization that Sony is sorta waiving the white flag here. Here's hoping they at least make some of their PSVR2 exclusive content available on PC as well now.

@Gamingsince1981 - could be, who knows. Although it's sitting at 81 on metacritic, so 8/10 seems pretty much bang on.

8 is meh? today's generation is like "perfect or bust" apparently.

Steam Deck, while considerably more popular due to it's lower barrier of entry, is still a niche device with the likes of the ROG Ally and others.

I own one and it's really nice to be able to play some games on the go or in bed, but it'll never fully compete with a system like the Switch.

the Switch proves that you don't need the most cutting edge power out there to be successful.

kinda like No Man's Sky when it first released.. amazing how updates can change a game, huh? Zero reason why this game couldn't be more fleshed out with updates and add-ons.
