Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising launched back in 2009, bringing the realistic military operations to console for the first time.
COG writes: Every month, two armies stand in a field and stare at each other in an intimidating manner. A battle royale ensues. Sony and Microsoft stand at arm's length from each other, slapping each other with white gloves in a distinguished fashion. Actually, they just give away free games. Which lineup rules the roost in December 2015? Let's turn to the tale of the tape.
I am thinking EVERYONE wins. Whether the games are great or mediocre, they are downloadable with your console online service of choice and give you some value, and even more gameplay time. YAY to games.
Van Helsing and Sacred are better than anything the PS4 is getting.
Lol Sony is giving us an episode of a game (something that Telltale routinley gives out for free), and a game that has been part of a $3 bundle on the PC.
Having said that, I expected more from both as a Christmas present.
Still, Gold takes it hands down seeing as how all Gold games can now be played on the XBONE.
Soon Xbox Live subscribers will have access to a new set of free games they can play on their Xbox 360s or Xbox Ones.
Castlestorm was already free on the XB1, so that is a wash, but I am pleased with the other titles! I have been dying to play Sacred 3 (even though I hear it is pretty bad) because I thoroughly enjoyed Sacred 2. I have been wanting to play Thief as well. All of these are games I have wanted to try, but didn't really want to buy, so this list works out great for me!
Loved Thief, very underrated and will check out Van Helsing, it's a top down game like Diablo, IIRC.
Damn MS, really good stuff. I like that they are reaching for bigger games, not just indies. Always wanted to try Thief and will definitely get Operation Flashpoint.
They should have ended the year with a bang. Just cause 2 and fallout 3 for the Xbox 360. Maybe ryse and sunset overdrive for the Xbox one. Only game that I'm somewhat interested in is operation flashpoint which is probably not as good as the arma series.
8CN: When it comes to game worlds, bigger isn't always better, but that doesn't make these 10 titles any less impressive.
Test Drive Unlimited was awesome, the driving mechanics were pretty poor but the island was fantastic and felt huge. I regularly would race around the outside edge of the map in a loop, each lap would take about an hour in real time.
Seeing as EA now own this franchise wouldn't it make sense for DICE to develop a new Operation Flashpoint game? Battlefield has realism to a certain extent but it isn't exactly "real"
