Pokémon Go Fest Was A Flop

Around 20,000 Pokémon Go fans made their way to Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday with the promise of event-exclusive legendary Pokémon and a great time. Unfortunately, the entire festival went awry. Lines to even get into the event were long and moving at a snail’s pace. Many players were stuck outside in this massive line. Niantic servers were down and users could not log in to their accounts due to the massive player influx, therefore players could not get those sweet, sweet legendaries or participate in raids. Pokémon Go was unplayable.

Right you live there, so it sucks for you, but as a visitor it is something new. I live in Los Angeles and the same thing could be said. But I would encourage any new visitor if they are in the area to go to points of interest. They are already there right? Why be so negative? I get that this is n4g, so negativity is highly encourage, but c'mon. Live a little.

@franwex I was in LA about a month ago seeing BABYMETAL at the Palladium. If it wasn't for that being their only headline show this year in the US, I would never have gone. That whole area I was in was dirty and filled with homeless people begging for money and food. All cities are terrible tourist spots these days.

Can anyone really say this was a surprise? Massive events like these that rely on server strength almost always run into the same problems. Just look at nearly every MMO and MMO expansion ever.
