Honestly, we're talking completely new engine and none of Larian's built-in stuff with regard to environments and the like that they had from their past divinity game. No one is going to have that just ready to go. So, they need to shop for a dev studio that has a past game that shows what they want.
Obsidian doesn't have that, maybe the closest being Dungeon Siege 3 or Pillars of Eternity, but those are very basic, not as open, very little environment related ...
I think if it continues to do well Microsoft might give them some leeway to do a side project or two.
PC is the market with the most competition for these type of games as well, so it's actually easier to break in on consoles where these games aren't as prominent.
They supported the heck out of this game. I'm not into it, but I can't deny that they really did a lot of work to make the people who do like these type of games have the content they deserve.
Because AI and Crypto folks will buy them at the higher prices.
I would love for it all to be fake, but lots of people are saying they've seen/heard the same thing. But, man, we 100% don't need mid-gen upgrades when we're failing hard to optimize current hardware.
Why I wait for Ubisoft games to be on deep sales for their most expensive versions of games. Eventually they'll hit $30 or so and I'll try it out. I'm patient and I'm not lacking for games.
Not a bad thing. They've even shown excitement at what the update could bring to making things better for them. More work? Yeah. But, still a good thing overall.
"FFVII Rebirth is based on an established classic with a deep-rooted fandom – plus, it is a sequel, rather than a standalone game. It is therefore unlikely that quite as many demo players were drawn simply by curiosity or hype, and conversion in that case is likely to be more predictable, and hearty. Stellar Blade, on the other hand, is a brand-new IP with no pre-existing fandom, making its performance a great deal more difficult to project."
***Most publishers NO longer want to spend 4-5 sometimes even 10 years working on a game before they see a return on investment.***
Two things here.
First, yeah, who doesn't want to have a game they can spend less on, but a the same time how much time, money, and effort is it to get into that market and gain a hold in it when so many games already exist. There's a finite of players who can play a game at one time. The more GaaS successes, the fewe...
*** That´s a very simplistic view/opinion on a far more complicated subject. ***
No. No it's not. This isn't rocket science.
*** Microsoft *always* tried to push for technology and innovation across multiple segments throughout their history. ***
Microsoft always tried to push for THEIR technology and THEIR innovation as long as they can charge you for it.
*** Unlike Sony, you never heard Microsoft calli...
***Based on my search of the top played games***
You're setting yourself up to see what you want to see by looking for most played. Of course the most active players would be on the most played games.
But if you look at the best sellers, it isn't telling your story. https://store.playstation.c...
It's likely unfinished cinematic scenes where they would do final passes on animation and VO to line them up. To me, that says they're rushing things a bit to show it, and that's not the best thing to do. IMHO of course.
***or play at just 1080p and 60fps or something***
My over 2-year-old laptop GPU still runs fine. I think this is more a reason why GPUs are going to other things in priority, because the market reach for new users is shrinking as more PC gamers focus less on replacing older and still working parts that run RT/AI fine enough as it is. Not to say there aren't people who still do it, but I think the market is shrinking for having the latest and greatest like it has been t...
Where's his steelbook case Star Wars? Where?!?
I have a lot of issues with that gameplay. I really hope the final product doesn't play like what they showed as far as combat goes.
Obscure, c'mon now. You can't just say something without the reason behind it. Why is Microsoft looking beyond consoles? Because they're losing in that arena. Sure, they'll keep pumping out hardware to compete with Sony and to promote their subscription service on console versus leaving Sony to decide the market entirely, but they do this while trying to push everyone to their strength in the market and get rid of the other market. Microsoft absolutely wants Sony to abandon wh...
***So? Doesn´t make Helldivers II´s achievement in sales as a multi platform game any less impressive!***
No one said it isn't impressive, but you literally said that it loses in sales when you ignore facts about it, specifically the cost to buy and that Spider-Man 2 still sold extremely well. You then sell the idea that this is reason why it should go same date on PC and PS5. If games like Spider-Man 2 went same day release on PS5 and PC, Sony would start sel...
This is the problem with proprietary memory.
True, but big pocket people pushing out little pocket people is a huge problem. It's Walmart of the digital world.
