Thank God HD2 fans are not the ones that once they decide to cancel something they stay like that forever

shinoff218322d ago

Not a fan of the game but the fans were pissed. Sony gave in and the fans showed appreciation. Good on everybody

CrimsonWing6922d ago

So negative reviews were false, but just done out of spite, now everyone is running back to fix the damage they did? This is why user reviews are a joke.

Vits22d ago

Are you living under a rock? The Negative reviews were what cause Sony to back track on their choice to fuck the consumers over. They are as valid as they come.

CrimsonWing6922d ago (Edited 22d ago )

I doubt it was user reviews and more to do with refunds and negative press and fan outcry…

User reviews are a f*cking joke and always have been. This goes to show just how pointless they are. Let’s make bullsh*t reviews because we’re mad, as if the game is any different. No, they were pissed at Sony and went on a smear campaign in the review section and are now all about making reviews differently to raise the score.

It’s no different than the asshats who gave Hogwarts a 1/10 because of JK Rowling.

Vits22d ago

@CrimsonWing69

And what you think gave it negative press and even made Steam move to allow refunds? Or you think it just came out of nowhere? What a dumb and anticonsumer take.

boing122d ago

Surely Steam delisting the game in so many countries had impact as well.

CrimsonWing6922d ago

Games get review bombed all the time. I think actual social media outcries had a bigger f*cking impact than a bunch of review bombing. The fact that people want their money back and took steps to make that happen had more of an impact that a negative user score. Sales, money, moola speak louder than a bunch of trolls review bombing a game. Delisting a game that people bought from a to of countries and public reputation being damaged by that reporting has more impact than a bunch of dumb user reviews.

Let me ask you this, what’s raising the score going to do? It’s nothing but validation, honestly. Even then It’s so easily manipulated by fanboys in both review bombing or hype.

Vits22d ago

@boing1

And what you think made Steam delist the game in the first place. I will give you hint it was not the unsuported PSN. It was that being brought to their attention by the negative reviews.

@CrimsonWing69

Such a cattle mentality... All of that is the result of the negative review campaign, not the other way around. That's what generated the fan outcry elsewhere, that's what made Steam assign real people to deal with the issue and open the floodgates to refunds, and that's what generated the bad press. If you don't even know the timeline, I ask again, are you living under a rock?

And what's it going to do? It will show the developers and Sony that the community is open to dialogue and isn't just a bunch of cattle that accepts anything, but also isn't unreasonable as long as they fix their mess.

It's a enormous win for consumers and it should be celebrated.

I agree with your sentiment. The "overwhelmingly negative" reviews were completely irrelevant to the game in and of itself. People didn't like how Sony was imposing on Arrowhead. Which I guess is a legitimate issue if you've never owned a Playstation 3, 4, or 5. or live outside a country they do not support.

The complaints about data breaches from Sony are I suppose a legit concern. I also happen to think that no matter what we are getting hacked all the time on all the various apps, websites we've subscribed to, any government agency, Target....etc, etc. We're already susceptible to getting hacked coming and going. So I take the complaint with a big grain of salt. Everybody is a target now. Not just Sony.

derek22d ago

@Crimson, yep 💯. These babies stomped their feet and flooded the game with fake negative reviews and Sony capitulated. Wonder what happens next time Sony tries to implement account registration.

Angyobangyo21d ago

Then implement it from the start so the consumer knows what they're buying into, not a few months into the game's release. It was even listed as optional from the start. Don't go moving the goal posts and expect people to simply be ok with it.

Shiore2u21d ago (Edited 21d ago )

Selling a game in regions where your network service isn't supported with the intent from the start to make it mandatory, thus preventing people from accessing what they paid for is, such as yourself, monumentally shortsighted and tone-deaf.

LordoftheCritics22d ago

Negative reviews for Sony's negative behaviour.

Sky is blue again.

rlow122d ago

So you’re saying that those people in over a hundred countries. Who paid for and have been playing the game for the last for months. Having their game basically bricked because in those countries their is no PSN network. Are somehow spiteful because their hard earned money was going to be flushed down the toilet?

Honestly what planet are you from?

Angyobangyo21d ago

Wow, you figured out what reviewing bombing is. Congrats! It's like you purposely failed to notice that Sony backtracked thanks to gamers tanking the score. It is at "Mostly Positive" again. They fixed that damage rather quick.

CrimsonWing6921d ago (Edited 21d ago )

Oh no you’re right, it has nothing to do with refunds and publicity, it’s all because of Steam reviews. I’m sorry, I totally see it now. The inaccurate negative review scores out of spite are what got Sony to change it. I’m not being sarcastic when I say this, either. I see it now. The positive reviews to fix the spite false negative reviews makes it all better now, too. Crazy, thanks for helping me understand how impactful user reviews are. 🙄

No one deserves to deal with hate for doing their job... so fuck those people for being hateful. At the same time I think AH, or any developer tbh, owes it to thier playerbase that has done nothing wrong but played and supporyed the game given to them to implement any good idea they get no matter how it was delivered.

Tacoboto4h ago

So they don't deserve to deal with it, but you agree they should deal with it anyway, as long as the idea is good?

No. F that. How can you discourage inappropriate behavior and then, in the very same thought, find a way to excuse it?

Juancho515h ago

They need to just give temporary bans to people who can’t be adults and RAGE type on their keyboard after a bad operation. These Devs gave us a great game, and the children that complain about little things constantly are making their job difficult. If you dont like how they run the game, then leave. Let them follow their visions and give them feedback and constructive criticism without the vitriol and the hate. Bunch of fkn muppets.

Very loud minority is complaining. I see people using one in every round i play and they kick ass, have to remember there are tons of kids that play this game, and they complain about every single little tiny bad thing even if there are 10 pros and 1 con. Also, this is definitely not accurate. I’ve literally seen these mechs destroy chargers and titans, in the gate defense missions with this mech it literally makes it infinitely easier to hold the gates.

What a crock of shit, whoever wrote this just sucks at the game, they’re embellishing everything for some reason. Maybe they have a chip on their shoulder against the developers. Stop playing the game if all it does is make you angry, those of use that love the game will continue to appreciate their constant updates and toys to play with.

Matter of fact this post just made me want to play around, see you on the battlefield.

DivineHand12519h ago

Are the number of shots required to kill the enemies outlined in the article incorrect?

I haven't tested it myself but this is a snippet from the article.

"Kills Bile Titans to the head in around 40-45 shots (Way more than the autocannon sentry for some stupid reason)
Kills Chargers to the head in 10 shots
Kills Chargers to the leg in 8 shots
Kills Bile Spewers in 4 shots
Kills Brood Commanders in 2-4 shots to the head"

Some support weapons can one-shot those enemies and I believe the argument is that the mech should be more powerful than it appears.

I personally think it is about using the right weapon for each faction. This new mech is more effective against the automatons while the first mech is stronger against the terminids.

jznrpg23h ago

The new mech is really good against bugs

DustMan8h ago

Your basically a 100 round armored dual auto cannon. I wasn't expecting this thing to tear apart everything in the game. Regular auto cannon rounds just bounce off a chargers head, everybody should know to aim for the squishy part.

jznrpg1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

It may take more shots to kill bigger bugs but you don’t need to reload at all with 100 rounds and you can shoot as fast you want plus you have a lot of extra armor. It wasn’t meant to be a kill everything one shot death machine you still need to use some skill and other stratagems
