Is Home Really Boring?

As a former closed beta member, I got my hands on HOME a little long before many of you even logged in the virtual community. As you can imagine I was incredibly excited. Immediately after creating my avatar and downloading all of the different places in HOME I wandered around the community. I found people in small groups using voice chat and laughing. A few days later I sent a message to my PSN friend asking him how he felt about Home. He sent me a message saying that although it was fun it could get tedious quick. I understood where he was coming from even though I didn't agree. So is Home really boring?

First, you have to ask yourself a question to answer the one above. What do you want to do in Home? Do you want to hang out with your friends and clan members? Or do you want to chase virtual girls (which 80% of the time are actually guys ) and  play saucer pop all day along? Fact is, if you don't use Home as Sony intended you to use it , you will find it unsatifying.

I saw the dozens of "Home is boring" articles from a mile away. That's because I knew that many people would not understand it. I began to wonder and set aside all the biased thoughts myself. One day I was walking through Home and I heard a few people in a group cracking up at some guy's joke, something involving Eminem and Hancock, but that's not the point. As it is now, Home is good for what it is, even as a virtual community it still isn't perfect, but that's why it's in a beta.

Bottom line: Home doesn't have to be boring. Invite some friends to your pad, try a game of bowling, make a club for your clan, etc. As you already may know Sony is adding Christmas clothes to the mall and hopefully soon more trophy rooms. There is room for improvement in Home, but try to understand the concept because it's something Sony cannot fix entirely with just another update.

I really started to get familiar with it. Home is fun even without (me)having a club or inviting my friends. Pool is the $hit and getting to meet different gaming personalities is very interesting. There are some cool people in Home. Now, either those who seem dissatisfied were like me in the beginning or they are just those types who like to try to look cool by saying that everything sucks(especially in proximity of female avatars). If Home sucks, why are you even logged into it? No one's holding you captive....Anyway, every time I look through my PSN Friends List there are more people in Home than actually playing games. So I officially eat my words: HOME IN FUN!!!!

Peace

It's not boring if your a 60 year old pedaphile, 12 year old pervert, or a 40 year old virgin.
