This has only just begun, remember the Super Nintendo.

I usually wake up every morning and the first thing I do is check the N4G website. I am looking for news on new games, the next batch of free games with the Games with Gold program, and new apps added to the already impressive amount available to Xbox One owners. When I spot a new post that catches my attention I click on it immediately and begin reading. Usually Xbox One related articles are the ones I read and comment.

I think XB1 is an impressive console with so many things available to me and my family. My 5 year old daughter loves to be able to control what she does with her hands or with her voice, she was born into all this technology and usually nothing impresses her. Me on the other hand, I am very impressed with all this new technology. The Smart Glass app for my smart phone or my tablet is a perfect companion for my XB1 and also brings a new way to have a two player game, one controls the character while the other looks at the map. The Kinect is also a very high tech device and only a person not owning one can say the opposite. I am so used to the voice commands on the XB1 that I usually find myself wishing that it could control other appliances as well (ceiling fan off, AC on.)

When I finish reading the post, I then go to the comments section and start reading all the comments. Some are very sharp and contribute to what the writers point of view is, but many others are just people hating what the XB1 has to offer. I know most of them are young kids who probably have not even played the XB1 yet or even the PS4. I have a few young neighbors that got a PS4 console for Christmas (their parents bought it) and they defend the console with a sword and shield if they have too. Why would they not defend their parents investment?

The problem starts when people concentrate more on the look of a game and forget about what games are made for... having fun. I love the way the XB1 blocks out Hulu Plus content that my 5 year old daughter can not see because it recognized her face and logged her in. I love being able to exercise my body in a serious way with Xbox fitness and a fun way with Zumba Fitness and Kinect sports. I love changing channels using voice recognition. I love the fact that I can answer a Skype call from my sister in Colorado (I live in Puerto Rico by the way). I enjoy all the new apps for the XB1 and cannot wait for the ones coming including HBO GO.

I think we have to concentrate on what we have and enjoy it to the fullest, the criticizing of a console just because its not the one you got has got to stop. These consoles were just released months ago, this is just the beginning, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for the Xbox One. I could go buy a PS4 today but Sony has not motivated me enough to do so. Although I got to say that the $400.00 price tag did look good at first. Both consoles are just getting started and I cannot wait to see how this turn out. Super Nintendo was released a day like today 28 years ago and it started with a game like Super Mario World and when Rare developers were done with it ended up with a game like Donkey Kong Country... the most visually stunning game of its time. Imagine what next gen consoles can achieve.

I also can't wait to see what this consoles have to offer us in the future.

About the fanboys, just ignore them. Fanboys will be fanboys, and most of them are just kids, and they feel the need to defend a console, because makes them feel part of a group. In a couple of years they will laugh of the things they say now.

And is really cool that you and your daughter are enjoying the X1. I remember when I was a kid and my father played the Genesis with me, and that are really good memories.

So enjoy your Xbox, I don't own one yet, I'm waiting for Quantum Break to be released before I buy one. And I know I will enjoy it too.

I'm not compelled to buy into this generation yet. All those things you're advertising with Kinect are already available with 360. The smart glass app is available as well. The games still don't stand up against 360/PS3 games. If things don't turn around by year 3 I might skip this generation. As a sports gamer primarily, madden looks terrible year in and year out.

Really if it wasn't for Gears 3, Fallout 3 /vegas, and NBA 2k, I wouldn't be playing anymore. Other than a few highlights I feel our best gaming experiences are behind us. 2004 was probably the last time I was excited for videogames whole heartedly.

I am sorry but untill you try out the X1 Kinect, you can not say that the 360 Kinect is the same... the 360 Kinect is no way near the X1 Kinect in any category... hope you can join us in X1 soon.

All that and not a mention of the x1 being used for you know Gaming, no wonder this console gets flak!

Kavorklestein3576d ago

Okay, so he enjoys the console even when he's NOT gaming.. you can only expect his enjoyment to increase when he actually DOES start playing.

Your comment actually just points out the fact the Xbox one is amazing even when folks AREN'T playing games, so when someone DOES actually use it to play games, the satisfaction level is only bound to increase.

Nice try, but people who enjoy gaming are too busy enjoying it to waste time hating/picking on everything like a snooty, booger-nosed 3rd grader.

All that is on top of all the gaming... oh Im sorry I forgot to mention that the X1 does all that and plays next gen video games like Forza, Killer Instinct, Ryse, Battlefield 4, Need for Speed Rivals, Titanfall and others. I apologize for not saying that before.

whats with all these articles begging people to purchase a xbox 1. a lot of the die hard post these articles that are trying to show the good points of MS system. however their is a fundamental problem with MS. The problem is gamers don't trust Ms and it has nothing to do with the games they release or the system. I personally with all my friends have lost faith in ms to do anything but something ignorant. starting from last gen. rrod, moving disc tray, rushing two systems, etc
