What game stands out as the greatest game ever created for you?

If you were to choose 1 game that you would have to play for the rest of your life what would that game be? Im looking for peoples favourite games for some research and im checking out what kind of game is beeing looked upon as the greatest game ever created. Mine is a combo of both PS One Oddworld Abe's Oddysee & Exoddus.

The first game I played that had the perfect story, the perfect mix of gameplay with challenging puzzles, stealth, action, gore, humor, and so much more. It is still on eof the most visually stunning games, and if it had an HD polish it could put other 2D scrollers like Shadow Complex and TRINE to pure shame. It's just a perfect game in my book, and I don't think anyone was as passionate about oddworld like it's devs, other than kojima was about mgs

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
God of War.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
Resident Evil GC Remake.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Star Wars: Republic Commando.
God of War 3.
Ratchet and Clank 2: Locked and Loaded.
Star Wars: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast.

But if I was forced to pick just one game from those ten, it would be Battlefront 2 because it has the most re-playability. Though, Jedi Knight 2, being a PC game has mods, so maybe that would have more. I can't pick 1 lol.

Jedi Knight II: Outcast was a brilliant game. I'd love a sequel, that is worthy. Jedi Academy was a joke IMHO.

Battle For Middle Earth 1, Red Alert 2 or dare I say it.. Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour.

I'm a bit of an armchair hitler you see, and these games offer near faultless gameplay and have given me hours and hours of outstanding online games.

But simply for the time spent on it in total, and the fact I can only choose one.. Red Alert 2.

MGS or FFVII, only gotten into the FF series recently and VII was the first of the older games that I played. Easy to see why everyone loves it so much, such an amazing game.

But I grew up with MGS and I've finished MGS about 7 times or so (that's a lot for me hehe) and it never gets boring so I'd say I'd go with that.

Diablo's most reknowned Rogue-like ancestor, NetHack, is the greatest re-playable computer game of all time... the only one that even comes close is Civilization.

I think it'd be foolish to choose a game other than those two -- I can't even think of many games that come close to having that kind of replay value -- which is a big deal when you're alone on a desert island... lemme tell ya! ;)

A game probably none of you have heard of, I am of course speaking of the PS1 game that was ported to the PC not the shitty PS2 FPS.

It was one of the first games I truly felt engrossed in. The cheesy narative and outright bizzare characters were just thoroughly enjoyable.
The game while open world puts the player in a section of a town for each assignment that get increasingly harder rewards the player for exploring every inch of the map for power-ups and later returning for some time trials.
The maps get bigger and many can take up to 1 hour to complete with the grueling punishment of dying putting your right back at the start. One of the main reasons this game didn't score as high as it could have...but in my opinion it's perfect and I would love to see a remake (although I suspect that is extremely unlikely)
