Fanboy conversation of the week

             I've been coming to N4G for a good while now and really enjoy the site, but if there is anything I can't stand are the rabid fanboys. Now I don't mean enthusiast whom I totally respect,  you like your console, fine, you want to debate which one is better, that's great.  However  the ones that really bug me are the ones that straight up ignore everything you say and just keep on reminding us how a certain console just plain sucks. Now I know most of you will say, just ignore them.  I don't know why but for the love of me I just can' t, it's like if any of them speak or post a comment it's like they are attacking what I love most, gaming in General. I may be dramatic, I may seem like a freak, but I just hate the rabid anonymous fanboy crap that is tainting this site and the internet in general. I really do.

Latetly I have been  calling out what look like, to me,  the anonymous ones that have multiple accounts, the ones that troll, thrive for attention and are a shame to all us real gamers.  If they call me a bot, or a droid or whatever I invite them to add me to there PSN or Friends list, nothing wrong with that, right? You don't want to give it, I respect that, however  you would be surprised at the ones that do add me, they see I have a Playstation/360/wii and I respect their enthusiasm for their console they are never the "crazy ones".  There are good "fanboys" out there that enjoy debating which console is better in a reasonable fassion, I don't get into that to much, but the crazy ones, the ones that clearly create many accounts here to troll and attack the console they don't like, all the time and ignore any reasonable arguments are the ones I poke at.


The weekly conversations exposure that I will be posting, will be the ones I invite to game with me and ended up by being blocked simply for attempting to be a gamer and asking them to prove to me they are gamers. I am a gamer, I love to be competitive, I love to game, I love to get my ass kicked so I can thrive to better myself at gaming.  N4G is a gamers site, all it's new for Gamers, not news for fanboys.

I understand what you mean. Fanboys ruin anything. I dont post alot on N4G. I like the site. Helps me keep up with everything. But I stopped reading comments along time ago because of the amount of fanboys.

Well, he does have a point... PS3 games could be upscaled. If Sony would have done the right thing to include a hardware (or was it software? I don't care) upscaler like MSFT in the 360. Now they all have to be developed that way to support it.

After that, Cahill lost me - and I am a PS3 owner. But that's it, I own one, I'm not married to that chunk of plastic and copper wires. I really like how someone can be so naive about resolutions. As if the console is doomed because not every game has that one stupid resolution covered. Yeah, Sony talked a lot of crap in the past, they do today and the will tomorrow. So did, do and always will Microsoft, Nintendo, Capcom, SEGA, every company on this planet.

We all make fun of them (XBox has no loading times? PS3 games in 120FPS? Core players shouldn't feel left out?) and that's good. But as soon as you join the holy church of fanboysim, you crossed a line.
No one at that company loves you. They won't commit suicide because I don't like their product. They have lawyers to defend themselves.

Every console has a flaw.
Every console has an advantage.

Buy the console(s) that has the games you want and you can't go wrong.

P.S.: Cahill, my Resistance: Fall of Man case clearly states PAL and 720p resolutions only. Sorry to burst your bubble.

A lot of those quotes weren't even fanboyish they were just saying crap about upscaling. I completely agree with the rest of your post though. I just learned to ignore it though. The only thing that bothers me now is when the gaming media has fanboys. That bothers me the most because they're supposed to be official.

I understand Montrealien about the trolls that poison this site.But Cahill is'nt actually a troll or anything like that.The more worrysome indivduals are Zerodin,Poor Xbots,Shuhei Yoshida,Viktor E,PP and Hardcore Gamer/Juuken is Ugly/Ass divine.Then a troll came along simply called droids suck c*ck.Its getting annoying.

I'll have to be as clear as possible here, I am not trying to be part of the solution with said "fantart". At all. I am facing the problem head on as a fanboy of gaming, I'm creating another front in this so called console war, one for gamers. I thought I explained that in my misspelled last paragraph.

In my opinion, nothing about those comments were fanboyish from Cahill. I've seen WAY more fanboyish comments.

But really, the PS3 is the only console that can display full 1080p because PS3 games are on Blu-ray and can display 1080p native. Even though the Xbox 360 can upscale it's games, an upscaled game or just a standard DVD upscaled doesn't have the same quality that of a full 1080p game or movie on Blu-ray.

Even though the difference between upscaled 1080i/p and true 1080p may be minimal, true 1080p on Blu-ray is still the best even if it can't be detected by the human eye.

Anyway, I've seen worse fanboys than Nasim, that includes Power of Green, Jason 360, Genuine, and the usual baby bunch. How come you never respond to them, man? I think you have a preference for 360, but then again I have a preference for PS3 so maybe I haven't noticed you replying to them.

I have, but I will admit not as much. Not because I prefer the 360 though, I think it just that the PS3 fanboy situation here is a little more volatile so I tend to go more to them. What matters most to me is not who you respond but more of how you respond and I will never ever go all hate on a console.
