Here we are, the next big thing for a lot of gamers after E3, the big comic con. While new comic book stuff are the main point of event, for many people specially movie fans (Like myself) its the definit place to see some of the highly anticipated movies of 2008 in action. Sadly Fox chose not to attend this year's event (Much like Nintendo) but that doesn't mean we're left without footage, trailer, announcements and more...
First stop is the Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight. The first official teaser trailer is shown in theaters with The Simpsons movie; Really short but so sweet:

According to SuperHeroHype "Warner Bros. Pictures is indeed planning on presenting Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight at Wizard World Chicago, taking place August 9-12. There's been some rumors that the studio had pulled out of the event, but that's not true." "Will anything else happen for the movie at the panel or during the Con? We're not sure. Stay tuned."
For now, check out the all new viral site for The Dark Knight: http://www.whysoserious.com/
I loved the original Batman with the great Jack Nichelson as Joker but Batman Begins is among my all time faves and since the new film its based on the superb Dark Knight comics and Chris Nolan and rest of BB team are back for The Dark Knight movie, I'm much more excited than usual. Add the great new cast members including incredible talents such as Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal & Eric Roberts while bringing the stars of the original, from Christian Bale & Michael Caine to Gary Oldman & Morgan Freeman.
A while back I heard that Pandemic is working on the Dark Knight game which was the secret DK project but with so much games that they're developing (Mercenaries 2, Saboteur and Destroy All Humans 3... ) I kinda doubt that unless they make another quick and dirty movie-game that would be such a shame for this film.
In an old interview on N4G, I read, one great game developer say that his biggest dream project was to make a true open-ended, sandbox Batman game with dark Gothom City and all of the famous Batman universe characters and dark themes. I hope they make this one day but Dark Knight the game doesnt seem to be that one unless they announce it now (Not 3 months before the movie comes out) and say they've been working for at least 6 months).
The next big thing for me from Comic Con 07 is Iron Man movie and while the video-game adaptation by SEGA shown at E3 was rather terrible and bashed by sites such as 1UP, the film seems to be shaping up real good. It also doesn't hurt that two of my favortie actors (Robert Downey Jr. & Terrence Howard) star as the good and evil heroes of the film along with lovely Gwyneth Paltrow and the big Jeff Bridges.
Check out the description of trailer shown at CC:

No news on Hellboy the game or Hellboy: The Golden Army movie yet. Little news on Incredible Hulk movie but no game and casting info from Watchmen. Now, where is my Preacher TV series!? Also, the Beowulf movie looks HOT! I just hope they leave the PG-13 and go for R or at least release an unrated version on DVD. I wonder if the games like InFamous and DarkSiders will show up since they're both really comic-bookish, super hero stuff. Loved them both at E3 specially since they were among the few new IP announcements of the show and cant wait to see more of them.
Thanks for reading my first blog post, here at N4G. This is Red signing out until the next post.
Proof of concept for a promising new technology.
Its promising tech and what's even more funny is that it was DF that was saying it wouldn't work. If fact they were pretty emphatic about it. What's stupid about their claims is that consoles are just specialized PCs. Now imagine if they combine this with a different upscaler like TSR or the upcoming PSSR.
