Fallout 5: Which Studio Could Make It?

With work on Starfield wrapping up and work on Elder Scrolls 6 starting is there a chance another studio could work on Fallout 5?

I would've thought they're too busy with Avowed and Outer Worlds 2

CUnit12312313d ago

You never know what can happen. I'm sure they are working hard tho

Jared250015d ago

Not anymore. Most of the New Vegas devs are long gone

RaidenBlack15d ago

I'd rather have a Fallout 1st person (Starfield engine based) spin-off from another studio like Obsidian/Roundhouse/Arkane a la New Vegas style and Fallout 5 from Todd & co.
Also won't mind another isometric Fallout RPG spin-off on top of that as well ... from inXile or Obsidian

-Foxtrot15d ago

Either a New Vegas spiritual sequel with a new location (personally I’d use the spin off games to move around the world to Canada, UK, Europe etc to see their own versions of Vault Tech and the like).

Or

A remake of Fallout 1 in the same style as 3, 4 etc

RaidenBlack15d ago

Howard is more against Remakes ... he can be forced to handover the IP rights for a spin-off but he'll rebel if remakes are discussed. lol
Plus ... fallout 1 and 2 humor is pretty dark ... doubt MS will be able to keep 'em in remakes.

porkChop15d ago

I'd love an FPS spin-off from Obsidian and isometric spin-off from inXile. That would give us a steadier stream of Fallout while Bethesda can take their time with TES VI and Fallout 5.

CantThinkOfAUsername15d ago

And then people wonder why companies keep making sequels instead of taking risks on new IPs...

porkChop15d ago

1) Not every game can be a new IP. Some IP are just begging for sequels and spin-offs because the lore and world building are so good.

2) Both Obsidian and inXile have multiple teams, so this wouldn't stop either from also putting out new IP.

TheColbertinator15d ago

For sure Obsidian. Bethesda should go mobile at the rate of their quality drop. Inxile should make one too afterwards.

anast15d ago

I wouldn't let Bethesda touch it, unless you want an game that was dev'd by AI.

Until we wait please remaster FO3/NV with all the dlc. Gameplay improvements, faster loading, better textures and performance. Make a physical version with both games on the disk and it’s a buy for millions

Because we have years of wait before we get FO5

BrockEmSockEm15d ago

Yeah, but they can't even do the FO4 next gen update correctly.

They really need to get rid of weapon mods and bring back more unique weapons that are hard to get / find

anast7d ago

They won't improve it other than a slight graphical upgrade. They have always been better at live action than making games.

MocBistro7d ago

Only way it could improve is taking it away from Bethesda and regroup Classic Fallout (1&2) devs with decent budget and time to make it.

If they start now, we can have it as early as in 2031!

redknight8014d ago

Heck yeah, we can have a teaser trailer in 2031!? I am so excited already!!

Hedstrom14d ago

Yea, the teaser 2031 for the trailer 2035 is going to be awesome!

DOMination-13d ago

haha was about to say the same thing.

All these articles about a new Fallout are pointless right now. A game of that scope will likely be 1 year pre-production and 4 years development MINIMUM and that's if they start on it tomorrow. Lets talk about it again in four years time when it's officially announced, not when they're still working out who may develop the bloody thing.

Kaii14d ago

Yeah, allow the studio that hasn't slam dunked any games In recent memory to "fast track" the next Fallout game.

jeromeface14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

Good, microsoft should look at their IP's with value and protect them from devs like bethesda after disasters like Starfield. Everyone would lose their minds if obsidian was able to make another fallout even though the new vegas team is long gone. .

Lol, still port begging for hell divers 2.

I’m going to get back into Fallout 4 since I haven’t finished it yet. The recent update will likely give me more of an incentive to get to it sooner rather than later.

Crows9013d ago

The recent update does nothing except take up more space...

raWfodog13d ago

New armor, weapons, and mission(s) is enough for me, especially since I haven’t finished the game yet.

mastershredder13d ago

Where is the problem part again?
There is a show
There is 76 that is perfect for non-standard fallout players and perfect for Bethesda to coin up on.
There is a Fallout Shelter
There is Fallout 4 updated for current gen (that went free for subscription services in most cases).

Also there is a whole new audience that has never seen or played fallout before. Seems like they have PLENTY to dig into, before they worry about FO5.

They are beyond trending and are banking with willing investors atm, and you are calling it a problem. Mkay. Sounds more like you are just chapped that FO5 is not point of discussion. No worries, it is coming, just gonna take a bit. Just be glad MS and Bethesda ironed out their multi-platform woes, THAT was a problem, the rest is cake.

danno_omen13d ago

I called it a good problem because they have so much momentum, or did you fail to read that part

anast13d ago

That momentum is going to die when the new players realize their games aren't very well made compared to other games.

andy8513d ago

The answer is no there won't. 2030s
