Famitsu Confirms Eternal Sonata for PS3 in Spring 2008

Reason why X360 is doing so bad is not because it's an american company who made it. It's because no one knows about it. The loyalty bull is just a myth. Even Sakaguchi (Blue Dragon, FF series) agrees that the marketing in Japan is bad. No one knows about it. They're shelf space is like at the back of the corner somewhere where very few people go. Or in some basement or something like that.

Heres a simple fact, VIDEO GAMES make up something like 40% of money made in japan when it comes to hard goods, Or hard Retail in tech, Thats a section of tech Called Video games (Pc,Console,Mobile) That makes over 40% of the money made in the tech sector.

i play Resistance, warhawk and heavenly sword on my ps3

People can be gamers without being fanboys by owning just a single console. I only own 1 of the 3 current gen consoles because the other 2 systems don't offer me what I'm looking for... YET!

A lot of the fanboys you see are kids that can't afford all consoles so the whole my console is better than your console comes to light. Yet sometimes grown adults will have the argument. This is where the fanboy really does become an idiot, they are grown adults acting like children arguing about a toy!

just remember though, just because someone doesn't own all systems it doesn't automatically make them a fanboy. I can respect the other consoles and some of their games but it still doesn't warrent me to buy the system.

on topic... I wasn't much of a fan of Eternal Sonata when it was just a 360 release and even with the announced added characters I'm still not bothered even though I am a big fan of JRPG's.

I don't see how MS expects to attract gamers to it's console in Japan when the more popular platforms have the exact same games.

However, I understand the publisher wants to make money and get their game out to as many as possible and I can't blame them for that.

This game was straight up horrible anyway, as I am not a fan of just about all Japanese games. But it sounds like "exclusive" is just not something the 360 is going to have much of. Which I think in the end is going to lead the 360 to dismal hardware numbers.

1) Not every PC at home can render or play games that the PS3 or the xbox 360 can.

2) While true.. that many PC can.. someone that have a PC capable of playing a game like Gears is usually a PC gamer.. and will not always care or want a console.

3) Many of us have high end PC and an xbox 360 and are able to pick which platform we want to play our games.. for example.... mmm.. should I buy x game on the PC or the xbox 360? Can you do that with your PS3?

4) For the most part console manufacturers lose money when they sell consoles.. Sony loses money when they sell consoles... so they make most of the money with royalties selling games and not consoles... It's better for microsoft when you buy their games on the PC since you are paying for your own hardware. make sense? duhh!

5) You failed to explain... how is microsoft being hurt when you buy their games on the PC.... care to share you wisdom on this?

6) If Sony would own the OS, platform, Games for Windows.. wouldn't they also published the game on the PC? Just like how they publish games like God of war on the PSP and the PS2... get it?

Microsoft understand that the Xbox brand is allowing them to expand their revenues into the PC and the other way... we are also seing PC only games jumping into the xbox 360... how come you are not talking about those? games like C&C3? Why don't you mentioned that too?

Making games for the PC and the xbox 360 is relatively very similar... same tools and almost the same code... it would be stupid for developers to not port their games between the PC and the xbox 360.. and eventually you will see most PC games on the xbox 360 and the other way around... boosting windows sells up.... and xbox 360 up...
many games that were only released on the PC will now be released and available to console gamers not interested in spending a few thousands for a high end PC that can perform as good as the xbox 360...

Stupid, the difference is that we are talking about consolle industry and games, that is very different from the PC market that is sadly and forcedly a Microsoft monopoly and almost everyone of us have to buy a PC, there are not many that are opting for the (better) alternatives, but slowly the things are changing and i hope that someday there will be a healthy competition in the computer OS industry as in the console industry we have know. After i said this, it's clear that a 90% of computer owners have a PC, and for them who buy a PS3 is useless to buy also a 360 only for the 360 exclusives that are almost all on the pc, only who want the special console features( and has money to throw) will buy also a 360. I knew a friend that wanted badly to play the DMC 3, and he thought seriously to buy a ps2 for this,even if he doesn't like very much to play consoles, but when DMC was released also for the pc, buy buy ps2, he bough the game and played it on the pc. Did you get it? It's obvious that a PC game is only better for Microzozz, but for its PC department, it hurt very much the sales of the 360, because a lot of people have a pc, and will not buy a console for games that are out also for PC. It hurt Microzozz's Xbox department. For the ps3 is different, because the main exclusives (and generally the best ones) will never be out for a PC, so you have to buy it if you consider yourself a true gamer and don't want to miss some( or better a lot) of the best games of this generation. 1stly bladestar has forgotten to mention the ps2 and how the playstation devision is doing better than the xbox devision which is what it boils down to. bladestar was spot on about people not being able to play the latest xbox come pc games on pc because of the specs needed but i disagreed with what he said about pc gamers not really caring about gaming consoles as coming from an amiga/atari background many peeps of my gen were serious pc (computer)gamers before being serious console gamers. Ill add that I agree with SmokeyMcBlunt on the fact about SOME people not getting a 360 because a lot of the games that are good on the 360 can be baught for the pc plus most of those are 1st/3rd person shooters which are normally better on the pc because of mouse n keyboard controls and pc graphics.

If the console manufacturer do not increase the installbase base on the console then they can't make money on royalties and developers will not support their console because it's not worth the development effort if they will not have a good ROI(return of investment).

also.. this transparency between PC and the xbox 360 is not only about games.. but they also work together... I can have the same friend list, same interface, same account, etc... I can you media center capabilities and even stream between Media Center and the xbox 360...
They both allow me to play the same games but also... they allow me to improve my experience... In other words... PC works better with XBox 360 not with PS3. I can use the same xbox 360 controller.. And all this will make it easier for developer to kill 2 birds with one stone... why make a game for 1 system (PS3) when you can make the game for 2 system and make double the sell with little or no efford... that's why microsoft is doing that.. and that's why it will benefit PC and xbox 360 gamers... sadly you can't see that... or you are afraid of it. cause you know how much it can hurt Sony.

Microsoft is all about Computer Software, whether it be PC.. 360.. you name it. It its pretty much king of the PC, based on almost 100% of computers running their software. The 360 is a very very small portion of the conglomerate that is microsoft.. its big a money black hole though... the one area where they have never, ever, ever, ever made any money on, and with that billion dollar replacement policy, it will be a long time coming to get into the black if ever. So yes.. if the 360 does indeed fail and flop.. Microsoft will continue on in the PC world as if that dirty little secret never happened. Sony has a lot of its future banking on the ps3. Althought, like M$, Sony has many, many many more endevours that make a tidy profit. The playstation name has make the company billions, they aim to continue that with the 3rd installment. The movie studios, the tvs, cameras, vidweo cameras, pretty much any type of electronics hardware mean this company isnt going anywhere either. But who has the better track record, who has installed consumer confidence time and time again. When i was growing up, one named instilled quality of craftmanship.. that was sony. It wasnt a camera, it was a sony. It wasnt a TV, it was a sony. Now what has Microsoft shown you, besides trying milk peoples money and hostile takeovers. I had more bad experiences with Sony products than I had with Microsofts... Never had problems with windows or microsoft products since I know how my computer work enough not to screw it up. I also never had a virus messup my computers.. cause I know how to maintain my systems... never had a scrashed disc because I know how to take care my stuff.. never had an xbox 360 give me a RROD...

Now with Sony... I had 2 Playstation 1... disk drive problems had to put upside down.... 3 Playstation 2... same problem... dvd drive failure... digital Sony camera.. broken flash.. and they are charging me $150 to fix... Sony DVD player.. stopped working...
Now that's my personal experience.. and it may not be the same as you.

Like I said before... I am bias because I make money of microsoft technolgies.. but I don't only make money on microsoft tools but also MySQL, Oracle, cisco, etc... which means.. I kind of mmm love them... Sorry I can't hate the products that feed me. HEHE.

So unlike you.. I don't feel screwed by Microsoft.. I am screwing them... and their products seem to like me... Sony on the other hand... I don't make any money from... nor seem to have luck with their products... so tell me... why I should hate microsoft and love sony as you do?

ohh and if it helps... I am MCSD, MCSE, MCT Certified... So, I don't pay for any microsoft program. I get them free.

Sony not doing anything to better me as a person... at least people can make a living of microsoft contribution... aside from you buying Sony's products what are they doing for you? So, why are you so in love with Sony?

Obviously the game is coming to North America as well. This annoucement was made at TGS, so usually they don't say anything about North America. PS3 isn't the only one losing exclusives now.

i used to be a peaceful gamer , but you sick x-sh!t fanboys have summoned the sony fanboy inside me ....you want to fight dont you ? ok lets fight with exclusives shall we ? you have splinter cell ....mgs4 will be MUCH better ....you have blue dragon ....final fantasy will blow it out of the water...you have halo3....killzone 2 makes halo look like bob the builder....you have ninja gaiden 2 ........which quite frankly slices heavenly nariko in two (un-fckin-fortunanetly......bu t there you go)....you have forza motorsport and pgr......which struggle to meet the photo realistic gran turismo....then ...pit gears of war , bioshock, mass effect and ace combat against uncharted, ratchet and clank, god of war and warhawk and we have a clear winner .....the ps3 knocks the 360 out in a head to head battle EVEN BEFORE the 360 red rings out ! there ......i feel better now .
