The eccentric Suda 51 harnesses the power of PS3 for a bizarre action/adventure inspired the work of existentialist writer Franz Kafka. In an unusual town full of odd locals, your stranded characters must explore the town and its castle to find a way out, using only his carried torch to light his way and to fend off the unexpected and unexplainable horrors that await. Advanced new lighting and graphic techniques are used to impress upon you the feeling of fear and loneliness (the tite "Kurayami" means "Darkness" in Japanese) as you venture through to the end of your quest.
A feature article on the relationship between mega music stars and the world of gaming
Triverse writes, "Retro styled action adventure titles are all the rage with developers lately, and we don't see anything wrong with that honestly. As long as they are good titles, bring them on. Darkness is one of the latest pixelated adventures to hit the iOS and Google Play stores, originally a Commodore 64 title that released earlier this year."
A rare moment without action can enhance a game's experience tenfold, argues Andy for This Is My Joystick.
When you see Skyloft for example you enter a beautiful and charming city in the sky, inhabited by quiet, noble people with proud traditions and beliefs. It’s hard not to fall in love with the place because exploring the quaint little city is a pleasure, with humble folk at every turn who, for the most part, are warm and welcoming to the young hero at my control. Why can’t real cities and villages be bubbling over with charm like this? With this much innocence?
With that, it surprises me that some have called the opening few hours of Skyward Sword ‘slow’, even to the point of being put off by it. To me, the opening is one of the key elements of the game’s setup and possibly the most important start in a Zelda game yet.
Multiplats will mean nothin soon 2 the Ps3
WHOA WHAT!? I had no idea this existed... Pretty exiting if you ask me. Although I guess great exclusives shouldn't surprise me anymore.
Hey-oh!
Though I haven't played his latest game for the Wii, these guys can do a lot with what ever system they are working with. And I want to see what they can do with the Ps3. Anyway, a Suda 51 game on the Ps3 is always welcome. xD
Little more detail:
"The player will be thus plunged in a village obscure which it will have to traverse with a torch to reach a castle and to discover his mysteries. Thanks to the power techniques of PlayStation 3, Suda Goichi intends to stress the graphic style (textures, drawings of the characters, decorations, etc.) of Kurayami so that the player can truly feel the darkness and darkness, the concept of the fear will play a very important part in the play."
Wow. Does anyone thinks this sounds a little Alan Wake'ish?
I loved Killer7
