The man behind the Pro Evolution Soccer series, Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka has admitted that PES2008 wasn't up to the standards they hoped when it was released.
The game, plagued by problems ranging from lag to missing features, was released on time back in October, but Konami have since provoked rumours that a patch may be released to counter the game's problems, as previously reported.
Boomtown writes: "No rivalry in the world of gaming is fiercer than the one between competing football franchises. It almost mirrors the strength of feeling people have for their club. Crossing the divide to support another franchise is a relatively rare occurrence. There are two major derby matches in the football gaming calendar and they feature a bitter enmity which has built up over the last few years. The first is Pro Evolution versus FIFA and the second is Championship Manager versus Football Manager."

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 (abbreviated as PES 2010) is an upcoming football video game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series developed and published by Konami for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii and Xbox 360. The game was announced on 8 April 2009 and has a tentative release date of 23 October 2009; but, according to retailers, it is set for an 2 October release, the same day as the expected release for EA Sports' title FIFA 10. However, rumours are circulating that the game will be released early this year, possibly in September. On 11 August, Amazon.com put the game up for pre-order, station that customers will recieve it on 16 October. It was also announced that the Wii version will be released around the same time.
The graphics look incredible, can't wait for this one. The overall gameplay features have also evolved.
The graphics are not very important, they will be similar to PES 09, It's the gameplay that really matters!

Even with all PES 08 fault's, it's still better than Fifa 08.

I'm quite sick of hearing about this patch - just release it already!!!
Not better than fifa 08 at all. Been a hardcore pro man since day dot but have now switched this year. As have many people I know in the same boat... Maybe next year will be different and I'll go back but who knows? this wasn't the next gen pro I dreamed of for all these years. not even as good as 6, let alone 5.
