I played it on my PC and it didn't live up to the hype for me. Sure, the graphics are simply amazing but the gameplay didn't do it for me. Sadly Crysis 2 wasn't any better in the gameplay department. :(

Crysis 1 unlike Crysis 2 was made for the PC so it doesn't exactly have many compromises in regards to draw distance detail etc. The game is going to have to be downgraded significantly visually to run on consoles and it will most likely look worse than Crysis 2 considering it wasn't consolized in the first place.

Your consoles are old tech, guys. They're simply not that powerful that Crysis is going to get a nice shiny port job without significant compromises.

I remember running crysis on a 3870 athlon x2 5000 1280x1024 on med at 30fps.

No man trust me. I have the latest drivers. It not like its below 30 fps all the time it just dips really low and is VERY inconsistent. I get anywhere from 60 fps to 15 fps. Plus I'm pretty sure a 3870 wont give you a 30 fps average with everything on very high @ 1920x1080. Dude my rig can easily run on medium and even High, I just max out my games and crysis and metro 2033 are the only ones i cant with playable frame rates. You cant be in PC gaming and have "user error". I'm sure even on medium settings that 3870 isn't getting a CONSISTENT 30 fps. It probably ranged from 40 fps to about 8 fps, but averaged 30 fps. CRYSIS HAS A INEFFICIENT ENGINE. On top of that the game was built and optimized for NVIDIA cards, so naturally it would be even more inconsistent on an ATI card.

Even my Nvidia doesn't help the poor excuse of an engine, looks great, but wow I struggle on Medium when other games will run on max with only minimal frame drops. It isn't stable in the slightest

I agree with Dr. RichtoFen (above) it should be bundled with Crysis 2. NOt only will the game not be recognized by many console players (you might disagree, but many people I know that game on the 360 and PS3 do not know of many of the best PC games) it will have come AFTER the second Crysis. Look at what happened with Bioshock. It was well known by console players and it still did lackluster on the PS3.

It should be in a bundle or they wil be poorly received.

It's a freaking cool game and i could run it with patches/mods/tweaked shaders on a old Radeon FX1650 with just 2 CPUs and 1gb mem on 1024x768 resolution at 30fps, good enough to experience the game with med res textures/DirectX10 effects/volumetric FX on high/Physics on med/Water FX on high/post processing on high/objects on high....imagine running it on the optimised Cryengine 3 on 720p it's absolutely possible on 360/PS3 and maybe it will have the new optimised MLAA rendering techniques researches were talking about just a couple of days ago...it still will look better than ANY game this gen, this game was so far ahead in 2007 it's just silly people don't want this game on 360/PS3. If crysis came to the consoles, the version they get would definitely have to be built from the ground up. And I'm sure the pc and console versions wouldn't b able to compare with eachother. I'm quite sure from a technical standpoint no matter how well you can code an engine, system resources dictate concessions would have to be made.

How can you say it will run like shit blah blah blah just because you have a expensive graphics card and you still can't run it perfectly doesn't mean the consoles can't run it crytec didnt do any type of optimization on pc they just tried and make it as hard to max out as possible . But look at the witcher 2 that game on pc was optimized to look great on low end graphics cards and to me that game looks as good or better then crysis. If crytec develop and focus on console they can optimize the shit out of the consoles and make it work I'm pretty sure they will make the game look as good as medium settings

Look in my opinion, the best looking game is BF3 on pc, but ffs it aint a generation ahead over the ps3 or even the 360! Open you eyes. Graphics aint always about how realistic a game looks, its about artstyle, design, etc.

In terms of realism, BF3 probably looks the closest to real life (And Crysis 1 jungles), but in terms of graphics, uncharted 3 looks close enough to compete with them. And i just know that THE LAST GUARDIAN will blow ppl away, not in terms of how real it looks, but in terms of scale.

The PC is that far ahead...from a technical standpoint in running real time effects within the game.

There is a reason Uncharted 3 like KZ3 and Gears of War 3 and the rest of console games have almost NO real time dynamic lighting and soft shadow effects with real time procedural destruction all in one package. It cannot handle it without major compromises.
That is what makes PC gaming that far ahead.

And Tessellation is a big deal.

All one has to do is look at the recent DX11 patch for Crysis 2 on the PC using Tessellation. The difference is huge. And that is a PATCH not a game built with DX11 from the ground up.

Uncharted 3 looks amazing but as you even said, its all PRE RENDERED or scripted.
The fact that PC games can do visuals like Crysis 1/Metro 2033/BF3/Witcher 2 just to name a few...
and do it running a full REAL TIME DYNAMIC Lighting/Soft Shadow/Procedural Destructible Environment puts the PC MILES ahead of these consoles.
That's why PC's are generations ahead of consoles.
The PS3/Xbox360 cannot do those effects without major compromises to the game itself.

I hear what you say, but its not generations ahead. Better looking shadows doesnt make a generation difference. Tessellation is brilliant, but that new tech used in dx 11, so vs a 6 year old gaming console the difference isn't that big!

All those PC's run games at higher resolutions than the consoles 720p and quite a few of those games on those budget PC's are using Anti-Aliasing.
So in fact they are running games better than consoles. Heck they are running crysis 1 lol

You will get no arguments from me with that. Uncharted 3 will look better than BF3 on the PS3...but here is the thing to remember...

Uncharted 3 is not rendering a destructible environment nor is most of its lighting engine/soft shadow effects done in real time.
BF3 is doing this.
I would love to see Uncharted 3 render what BF3 is rendering and see if it looks the same...

Have You ever tried Crysis? One of the best FPS's this generation. If You can even say it is in this generation. Since it seems the PC is always a step ahead. But You catch my drift. The game is crazy good. If You get it on your consoles, it is a real treat. BTW, You can buy FarCry3 too.
