The sad part will these types of games overshadow the really good challenging games like ARMA I like this type of shooter but I get much more gratification from actually making tactical decision that really do matter and have an impact

this is the Holy trinity of military shooters. even the Pope/Buddah/Jesus/Allah/Santa Clause/Mother Teresa or who or whatever you believe in has blessed these 3 games and are a requirement to play if you wanna see the Happy after life.

Battlefield changes things up with every release, while Call of Duty is the same thing over and over again.

Having played both series I can say that I'm getting a little burned out on Call of Duty. It's always copy/paste. Plus they don't have vehicles which another reason I love the Halo games so much. Makes the game more interesting.

while i am getting this DAY ONE. these predictions never happen. nothing no matter what the quality is crushes other games in terms of popularity and sales. its a gradual thing. wonder why there was never a halo killer? because it died a slow death while cod over the years became more popular.

People don't even know exactly what they mean by "Halo killer".
No game needs to kill halo. No game wants to be Halo.
We're all past that point already and games have moved on.

So even though there are games out there that may do a better job at certain things such as shooting mechanics, melee and storytelling, the ridonculous amount of exposure(media, promotions or otherwise) and hype among fans keeps this franchise very much alive....just like Call of Duty.

Based on the reaction towards the reveal of Halo 4 and Halo Anniversary at the MS conference I'd say Halo as a series is very much alive.

While I have enjoyed the cod games ive played, I'm a sucker for a huge map with vehicles and mayhem. I'd like to see a persistent map with control points ala chrome hounds.
