Brink vs Shadowrun

From Toasty Controller...

"Now I know everyone reading this is buggin' out. Comparing Shadowrun to Brink? Shadowrun was a game that had no real level-up system and had around four game types that only revolved around training, playing in local bot matches, system link, or playing on Xbox Live. Oh yeah, anyone who actually paid for it for Vista could play with 360 users, too.

But that's where Brink comes in. Brink has an intuitive level-up system, bringing me back time after time, but the entire game is similar to Shawdowrun, as the multiplayer is the campaign and such, with a good usage of bots in these matches and playing online. Picking classes in Brink is like picking your weapons and magic at the start of a match in Shadowrun. Picking your race in Shadowrun has a slight ring to picking your body type in Brink."

Shadowrun awesome stuff if brink is similar im in at the start of this gen playin shadowrun i thought now thats original gameplay thinking outside the box but its all been downhill from there same cookie cutter action over and over all the intresting stuff this gen happened at the start.

Shadowrun is awesome. If I still had a working Xbox, it would probably be my No.1 MP game.

DirtyLary4760d ago

A rerelease of a completed ShadowRun would blow Brink out of the water. Why it hasn't happened is beyond me. XBOX can use the multiplayer exclusive.

ShadowRun - An Xbox 360 Classic Left to Rot

ShadowRun arrived in 2007 and is still played by a core audience on modern consoles and PC today, despite a bungled launch.

coolbeans151d ago

Played it a few months back. Not a stellar mp game at its time, but still genuine & janky fun.

Sciurus_vulgaris151d ago

I have never played Shadowrun. However, the universe of Shadowrun seems like a good setting for various game genres. The franchise combines traditional fantasy tropes with cyberpunk science fiction.

Rebel_Scum151d ago

Yeah since the megadrive game I’ve always thought how cool the setting and premise is but the game never really delivers on gameplay.

Really enjoyed this back on 360. Was one of the first pc games I played as well. Nice to see it's still online I'm going to have to see about getting a copy on pc again.

Edit: is this backward compatible with series X?

Fun game... just not Shadowrun.

porkChop150d ago

The Shadowrun RPGs from Harebrained Schemes were great, but that IP is just begging for a massive, Cyberpunk 2077-style game. Open world action RPG epic with a healthy dose of immersive sim goodness.

That could turn out really good for real.

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer178d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog178d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned178d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c178d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb178d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies178d ago (Edited 178d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal178d ago (Edited 178d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72178d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman178d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos177d ago (Edited 177d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows177d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.

Shadowrun 2007 almost had a System Shock-style singleplayer campaign

But Microsoft said no.

XiNatsuDragnel290d ago

I'm not surprised I hope if Microsoft is more open to these things.

anast289d ago

That would have been fun, so they said no.
