You guys do know that Killzone 3 release near the end of February right (Feb 22nd)? Similar to GT5's situation when folks laugh and claimed that it sold poorly when it was release near the end of it's month.

Edit: I thought Bulletstorm was a multiplatform title?

Edit2: Bulletstorm sold 285.6K, Killzone 3 sold 279.9K as a exclusive. I don't see how that's a big celebration to you.

it outsold it, end of story. yes, its a multiplatform game - but all the PS3 fanboys on here assured us that not a single PS3 owner would buy bulletstorm over killzone 3, so that means that the 360 version sold more than killzone 3 using their stupid logic.

Killzone 3s initial sales are terrible for a title of its standing. its a shame, because its better than its predecessor, and 90% of the other PS3 exclusives.

Bulletstorm is only doing well because its a Cliff Blezinski game, and whenever the 360 Bots see that Cliffy B is making a game they automatically flock to it and say that its the best game ever.

If Cliffy B were to announce that he's going to have an easter egg in the form of a picture of his dick hidden somewhere in the game, I'm sure it would sell 2 million copies day one on the 360.

What I am saying is that it should sell more for how good of a game it is.

500k is good, but as others have said, it doesn't compare to other big title games. Why? Because a lot of PS3 fans (going back to PS2 days) have been ripping 1st person shooters for years. PS2 fans would rip the original xbox because of all the shooters. PS fans really don't even deserve to have the Killzone franchise. However... Good for you PS3 owners who have bought and supported such amazing games in Killzone 2 and 3.

It's because:

1. It's exclusive to one platform
2. Besides the graphics it's pretty run-of-the-mill
3. There's quite a few FPS' coming out at the moment

I like Killzone, and if I had a PS3 I'd get it, but it's nothing spectacular.

It is not run of the mill at all, Killzone does many things other shooters do not and has its own identity among FPS games.

I never understood why people try to use the comment that it is generic. I don't see one thing that is generic about it. No one to date has been able to defend that comment and give constructive reasons why it is and what generic even means in a shooter.

Just because I don't own a PS3 doesn't mean I haven't played it.

I had Killzone 1 on the PS2 and I've played Killzone 2 and 3, both single player and online. Don't go making assumptions just because someone doesn't share the same view as you...just saying.

I asked him to tell me what he thought was special so I could explain why I don't think they're special things.

If there's things that stick out as being special to him, then it should be easy for him to tell me them. How am I supposed to pick out points of "genericness"?

All I can say I guess is that when playing it, I did enjoy the game and it's still a good shooter, it's just not anything particularly special in my opinion. It was entertaining but there wasn't a "wow" factor so to speak.

Which is one of the reasons why (also just "in my opinion") it doesn't have amazing sales compared to other shooters out there.

Hell yeah. Like I said, I've had my sharpshooter for two days.

Dont be put off like some with I dont want hold some plastic gun, or act like a kid. Its not about that.

For starters the gun feels good. With the Move and the Nav in it, it has a good weight and feel not real, but close enough.

Second, its just like a wheel in a driving game. You play GT with a DS3 and try to tell me it feels better than a G25. No way, its just a completely different level, and that what the sharpshooters like.

Its not about pretending your a kid playing shootem ups. Its about immersion and sucking you into the game all the more.

Holding steady, squeezing off a single round and getting that headshot. Its brilliant and its an experience no other FPS or on rails lightgun game can replicate. Even the pump action reload draws you in.

I'm even finally gonna give RE5 another try just because I have this now.

KZ3 did just fine, to equal a game like bulletstorm which is designed for the 360 gamer in its strongest territory and with it being multiplat is pretty good but worldwide kz3 has sold 3x that amount and will keep selling consistently for a few months.

Killzone should be mopping the floor with Bulletstorm. Kill Zone has all the latest tech (3D, Move support, PS3 super Graphics using all the SPC's). All that and it is a know entity and one of the most talk about "Halo Killers" by the PS3 camp. WTF is Bullitstorm? Should not be compitition for sony's 3rd biggest exclusive.

Thaking about exclusives, how is LBP2 doing? And is GT5 sill selling well? Sony is supposed to be releasing about 30 exclusives this year. We are at the middle of the 3rd month. You guys have to buy all of these games and forget those multi-plats or Sony will never be this nice to you again.

Bulletstorm is on 3 platforms. And Cliffy B hasn't shut up about it. One could argue Bulletstorm has been hyped more than Killzone. Certainly by the Media. I havent heard one person call into question BS (ha BS) story yet KZ story is all they can talk about.

You guys are doing what you always do. My rant was not about the quality or lack of quality of Killzone3 or any other PS3 exclusive. Thats what you guys are trying to spin this in to, to sell your "Bigpapy is a fanboy" theme.

My point is that you guys brag about all these exclusives and how great they are, yet the numbers don't seem to match your enthusiasm for the games. If games do not sell, they eventually go away. I when back to this point because I mentioned it before but the numbers were not in that article. This one shows that dispite all the shouting about exclusives, I am not seeing that impact when I look at the numbers (at least not in NA).

I'll tell you why Killzone 3 didn't sell more. Guerilla c)atered to the people who didn't like Killzone 2, the people whom they called the fans. A lot of Killzone 2 vets are unhappy with some of the [significant] changes. I play it a lot, but they screwed up a lot of what made KZ2 great. All they had to do was "fix" the control lag, but they went ahead and unnecessarily removed many multiplayer and community features . Then they added questionable features like indefinitely invisible snipers (pussies), along with the new spawn system. Also, US gamers and consumers alike live to go with the front runner. For whatever reason, they turned on Sony after the PS2.
