Joe Tkacz Writes: As we have come to expect from the creative mind of Tim Schafer, Stacking is a bit warped. Much like Double Fine’s previous effort, Costume Quest, the game earns points for originality. Sadly, it also lacks the sleek production value it so desperately needs, making Stacking, like its main character, feel a bit short of stature.
Stacking puts you in control of little Charlie Blackmore, the tiniest of dolls attempting to bring his family back together, who have been doing industrial labor for the evil Baron. The story is told through old style film reels in an attempt to create a more classic feel. Sadly, these scenes end up feeling poorly put together, clearly designed to save the hassle of hiring voice actors. It’s a shame because some of the dolls you encounter have unique characteristics that could have been brought to life with a voice of their own. As it stands, the overall presentation of Stacking feels rushed, even graphically. Certainly one has to take in...

Stacking was released in 2011 by Double Fine and remains one of their oddest and most intriguing titles. It's a puzzle game masking a serious message, but is it worth picking up today? Jump Dash Roll plays with some dolls before giving its opinion in this week's Brutal Backlog review.
Carlos writes "March may not have provided equal delights when compared to that of February’s backward compatible arrivals, especially with great games such as GTA IV, Borderlands 2 and Hitman: Absolution arriving amongst the masses on Xbox One last month, but that doesn’t mean we’re any less content when new additions come to the program.
Today sees a fresh batch of titles join the fray, but with so many to choose from now, are they worth going back to or should they be left on the shelf forever more?"
Yawn. I don't get it. Xbox doesn't seem to want to open the purse strings to bring in new IPs and with the selection of bc games, you can't tell me developers wouldn't want to get more.money on old IPs. I'm sorry to say, but Xbox feels like they care less and less for the gamer's...
...but this quote alone makes the review invalid anyway.
"Sadly, these scenes end up feeling poorly put together, clearly designed to save the hassle of hiring voice actors"
I wonder if this Playstation-biased website said the same thing about LBP? No...no they didn't.
Maybe the idiot reviewer wasn't smart enough to realize that the game's design is based off of the SILENT FILM era.
"Sadly, it also lacks the sleek production value it so desperately needs, making Stacking, like its main character, feel a bit short of stature. "
Its a good length for a downloadable game with a fair bit of replay value. I dont know what more you could ask for for 15 bucks :l. Cant please everyone I guess.
The game is dumb as hell but it's free. I beat it for the tropys ,then erased for space.
