GamesRadar: LittleBigPlanet 2 Review

Adding so much as to be a little intimidating at first, LBP2 brings a slew of impressive new creator features, while still offering plenty of cool new things for those who just want to play. The basic, flawed platforming of the original is still there, but compared to the possibilities LBP2 opens up, it’s insignificant.

that was a brilliantly written review. it cleared up alot of my questions ive had about the creating section of the game (you know the actual cool selling point of the first one).

i know i wont be dissapointed with this title and just like a good wine it will be the perfect game over the years with the millions of more crazy levels added as it ages!

i dont know about you but i think media molecule deserve every penny from the 40 odd quid ill spend for this. cant wait

... I just wasted more than an hour to figure out a way to order the US CE, which is about 80 US dollars (about 60 euro)in the states, for less than 100 euro to Holland.

In short; pretty much can't be done. And that's the only release I'm willing to spend my money on.

At Amazon.com, after shipping and 'import fees deposit', the price already goes up to about 130 dollars (!), and then you probably still have to worry about the local Dutch postoffice trying to screw you over anyways...

So I tried and tried and tried, not just at amazon, but also over at other sites like cduniverse and all that...

... but I really cant find a way to buy this for a reasonable price.

It just sucks that Sony keeps fucking over us European customers time and time again, and to be perfectly honest, my loyalty towards them is pretty much gone by now.

It could have been easy and fair: Just release the CE intact, same as the US version, here in Europe, for 80 euro. It would still more expensive than the US version, but hey, we're used to that kinda shitty treatment by now.... and I would have just bought it and would have been happy with it and everyone would have been happy.

Sony, as usual, decided otherwise. As we already expected.

Such a shame. I bought the original game for full-price back when it came out. Even bought my PS3 for it.

I really REALLY wish SCEE would just treat us properly. They won't though.

Media Molecule deserves my money for this great game, but Sony doesn't, and the CE release us europeans are stuck with, compared to the fantastic USA release, it's just a complete insult.

Would have happily spent 80 euro on the CE. Now, they're not getting any of my money. It's a matter of principle.

Just put yourself in the shoes of european gamers first, and then ask yourself if you'd like it if it was the other way around.

Trust me, you guys in the USA are paying 60 euro MAX for a BRILLIANT game PLUS all that amazing extra stuff. Here in Holland, we're lucky if we maybe get a couple of extra costumes with out 60-70 euro barebones 'CE' release...(!)

Agreed. I made 2 levels on LBP and they weren't that great. But i'm sure i will make a looot of minigames on LBP2.

Myeahhhhh... I live in Holland... what do you think I've been doing the last couple of hours...!? Cheapest I can get the CE to Holland is for about 100 dollars, and after that I'll still have customs and TNT bending me over for an extra 30 bucks orso...

So no... importing is sadly not going to be an option, and I won't be spending 60 euro on a mediocre dutch release which is missing all the great stuff yet is still somehow more expensive than the american release....(!)

Tell me honestly. If it was the other way around and 'we' would get the fantastic brilliant CE for 50 euro, and if YOU wanted it, the only way to get it was to pay twice as much as we have to pay...

Not the first time ive imported games, also imported the demons souls deluxe edition which had no extra costs like the one's you have mentioned just 6,99 shipping. Im also from Holland so i dont think tnt will be a problem like you think maybe with heavier stuff but not games.

...Someone PM'd me yesterday about CDuniverse so I already checked them out, and did again an hour orso ago. Their current price is 85 dollars, and after that comes shipping. But that's not the real problem.

I would HAPPILY pay that money for the CE. I'd even buy the book (11,60 at the bookdepository.co.uk)

The problem is that in 2 weeks there would be a doofus from TNT at the door, who wants me to pay an extra 12,50 euro (handling-cost/inklaringskoste n) PLUS taxes/belastingen, which in the case of a videogame (about 20% sales-tax) would total about 30 euro extra!

For all you americans doing the math, that's an extra 40-45 dollars on top of the (at least) 90 dollars I already would have paid to get the product to Holland in the first place....

... ok... and THEN there will still most likely be the problem once again) of region-locked DLC and shit like that.

So yeah, I've looked at this from all angles, and I'm still very VERY tempted to buy it, even at almost twice the price and a HUGE amount of extra effort and annoyences...

... but I won't. Rationally it would be ridiculous, and SCEE and MM never should have allowed this situation to exist in the first place! I've been an extremely loyal customer for many MANY years now, but this just seems to be the final straw for me...

I very willing to pay for my games and I always will be... but I'm not going to bend over and let SCEE screw me over and over and over again.

I paid $85 for the REGULAR version (import) of Demon's SOuls and then spent more again on the CE version when it came to the states. My point is support the developers. Because gamers did what thy could to buy Demon's SOuls we will get a spiritual sequal on both the Ps3 and 360! Logic. NOt playing will result in opposite.

Even if you are mad stealing is going to help. It will hurt the people wo make these game you love so much. It's like biting the hand that feeds you.

@Nitro Wolf. Yeah, I'm still willing to pay for games, and I always will be willing to pay for my games. I've got a nice collection built up that proofs that.

However, I am NOT willing to have to jump through all kinds of hoops just so I can get the same CE as the americans get, for TWICE the money, and probably no DLC-support (DLC on Sony games is usually region-protected)

And NO, I won't be getting the same experience with the standard edition, cause I know I just paid 60 EURO for a barebones release with MAYBE 2 DLC costumes, while for that same price people in the USA got a brilliant plushy and awesome bookstands and a very nice collection of exclusive DLC!

So no, that wouldn't feel the same AT ALL. In fact, it would make me feel screwed over.

THE POINT IS (here it comes), is that we in Europe are once again somehow considered less off by Sony, and thus less worthy of a proper CE.

Once again, if the tables were turned, how would YOU feel!?

I'm not even asking to get the same CE for the EXACT same price as you americans, which would be about 60 euro. I said I'd be more than happy to have paid 80 or maybe even 90 euro for that exact same CE. That's how used we are already about getting screwed with our games. We're already paying more for our games.

BUT, and this is where they have lost my loyalty, when they make it a real challenge, both in effort as well financially, to get the CE we want, PLUS THERE WAS NO REASON FOR DOING SO IN THE FIRST place (why didn't they just release the exact same CE here in Europe? Seriously: WHY!?!?) , then at some point I just shrug my shoulders and go: 'fine... if that's the way you want to play it...'.

Like I said, I have no problems with paying for my games and I've bough a whole of of games that proofs that, but as far as I'm concerned, this is the latest case of SCEE screwing their european customers over, and TBH, I feel this has put them in Activision-territory, meaning I'm not going to be loyal to them or supporting them with my money!

edit: Ow, and when I pirate the game, I CAN somehow get the same experience as everyone else gets with their CE. I can use the money that I save on some Sackboy-plushies and other Sackboy-related stuff, so that in the end I will still have spent 50-60 euro on it all (game PLUS goodies...)

But on a serious note think about it. When they haven't added scores onto their board like Gameinsider, or Gamesradar. Yet still have time to put up some unknown site like IncGamers which I doubt anyone has heard of. It just seems like they are waiting to put up the bad scores first just to prevent LBP2 from receiving a higher score.

Maybe, but I am still kinda weary of them when they gave Uncharted 2 a 9, Killzone 2 a 7 and Metal Gear Solid 4 an 8. Yet the same site gave Halo 3 a 10 which left a bad taste in my mouth.
