World's First Dead Space 2 Review Is In

StickSkills.com writes, "With there being only a little under a month left until Dead Space 2 officially hits store shelves, it was only a matter of time before reviews started to pour in all over the net. The first title was an absolute gem, and Visceral Studios set out to capture the same emotion they delivered on the first and do nothing but improve it."

Only a month to go?!! I can't wait for DS2!

captain-obvious4886d ago

well this game support mods on PC ??

MAJ0R4886d ago (Edited 4886d ago )

I don't think they have announced a tool set yet

GWAVE4886d ago

Buying the Collector's Edition on day one, since it also comes with DS: Extraction and I have 2 Move controllers. Heck yeah!

lelo2play4886d ago (Edited 4886d ago )

I hope Dead Space 2 has a better mouse control then the 1st had on the PC. Dead Space's mouse control was crap... even with all the fixes and system settings i saw in forums... UTTERLY CRAP MOUSE CONTROL.

I don't know if they improved it with patch's because after the first few days... i just went with the console version.

BattleAxe4886d ago

@ Lelo2play

Why on earth would you use a mouse to play a game like this? Xinput is far superior.

Rush4886d ago

@BattleAxe

For first/third person shooters a mouse is still the best way of playing, of course there are exceptions.

But that being said if I went to play a game like dead space I would assume a mouse would give me the most accuracy, although in this case it seems it doesn't.

AndrewRyan4886d ago

Mouse is the way to go for shooters, most accurate. It takes a while to get used to a mouse if you are a console kid but once you learn you won't be sorry :)

deafwing4886d ago

the 9.5 score didn't bother me but this article mentions that the game is lengthy;

that's interesting because the first game was "lengthy" as well ... not sure what the writer meant by that ... is it more than or equal to?

Commander_TK4886d ago

Hopefully it'll be on a good sale on Steam.

vickers5004885d ago

"Mouse is the way to go for shooters, most accurate."

And much easier, which means much less challenging.

JsonHenry4886d ago

I hope this one ups the survival horror and downs the walking tank nearly infinite ammo gameplay.

insomnium24886d ago

Ummmm... if you are referring to DS1 with that maybe you shoul've played the game on hardest dificulty setting. It was a pain to start the game. No ammo anywhere and you had to run from enemies and hope you fin ammo from boxes or die trying to kill them with melee. It got easier as the time went by but in the beginning...ugh!

JsonHenry4886d ago

I did play it on hard. But I grew up playing Resident Evil games on hard before it went all action. So I was better prepared than most of you youngsters. :/

el zorro4886d ago

This is one of my most wanted games. I loved the first Dead Space.

MintBerryCrunch4886d ago

played the demo, got scared....back to fighting Cthulhu and fulfilling my destiny

Sarcasm4886d ago

The game isn't that scary.

Except if you wear headphones with the volume turned to max and turn off all the lights and make sure nobody else is at home except you.

:)

JakemanPS319944886d ago (Edited 4886d ago )

what are you exactly? i just dont get it... what power do you have?
OT: i love the demo cant wait to get it on ps3! hope extraction gets it own trophy set like with a platinum and everything

homer4886d ago

That was by far the worst South Park episode I have ever seen. The only good part was when they made fun of Justin Bieber.

PS3Freak4886d ago

Homer you are insane. Each and everyone one of the 3 part coon and friends episodes was absolutely HALARIOUS!

homer4885d ago

It was horrendous. What about the one where there is a terrorist attack in Imagination Land? Now that is one of the best, and that other episode pales in comparison.

stickskills4886d ago

I don't see how more people aren't excited for it. Makes no sense for people to want to pass on this. Almost seems impossible to have played the first one through and NOT want to get this one.

Baka-akaB4886d ago

well that's the thing . Not nearly enough people played the first game .

least hope that the multiplayer will have some additional appeal for the game . Even if its a mode i so far dont care for

Spitfire_Riggz4886d ago

I'm too scared to buy it =)

cb4g4886d ago

Does it have coop? Coz I'd rather not shit my pants by myself

FunAndGun4886d ago

Looking forward to it, day 1 for sure.

It's all about the single player....but, I am kinda curious to see how some of the other multiplayer maps will look.

only a little under a month left.... been waiting so long

EA Shoots Down Dead Space 2 Remake Rumors: 'No Validity to This Story'

EA has shut down rumors that EA Motive considered a Dead Space 2 remake before shelving it due to low sales of the previous game, saying there's "no validity" to the reports.

XiNatsuDragnel35d ago

Sure.... right.... at least remake dead space 3 w/o microtransactions bs.

XiNatsuDragnel34d ago

I sometimes I wished I didn't Ngl lol

Knightofelemia35d ago

Why not remake DS2 whether shot down or not it's still my favorite game next to DS1. As much as I hate EA I would buy or would have bought DS2 day one.

MeteorPanda35d ago

No validity XD "Guys guys, we cant possible make a good game or cater to the gamers wants, stop"

Yi-Long35d ago

I don't know if sales met their expectations or not. I just know that the high review scores received my attention so I was interested in buying it, but its price stayed high (50+ bucks) for so long that I simply never bothered picking it up.

Tacoboto34d ago

Doesn't pay full price
Doesn't pay *any* price
Ponders if sales met expectations regarding an allegedly canceled sequel.

Gee...

Yi-Long34d ago

Well, for starters, I'm sure there are plenty of games I never bought which did, somehow, still, meet their sales-expectations.

Concerning Dead Space; I never played and thus cared for the original. It's in multiple genres (shooter, sci-fi, horror) I don't particularly care about so it was barely on my radar pre-launch. I was never its target-audience.

When reviews hit, and it was scoring big, it gathered my interest, so while it wasn't in my field of interest, it mrans that I wanted to give it a fair shot and at least give it a try, as I do with many games across different genres; I tend to just cherry-pick the good stuff and see if it's for me or not.

But, I do wait for sales on those games I take a risk on.

Kornholic34d ago (Edited 34d ago )

Lol, you are a huge part of the problem. If a very high-quality game is not even worth 50 bucks to you, then what is?

13 Years Later, Dead Space 2 Is Still A Perfect Video Game

Nameer from eXputer: "Dead Space 2 is a sequel that delivers such a feast that by the time you're done, you're not only full but also satisfied."

Aaroncls755d ago

It was amazing. All 3 DS games game solid for me, but 2 was special.

hombreacabado55d ago

i can do without ds3 but the first two are solid.

mariopasta55d ago

Hope they remake this one too. Just like they did with number 1. The remake of Dead Space 1 was perfection

Terry_B55d ago

thanks to the digital pass for it it was not perfect..in fact its difficult to find a working copy since many years.

I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥

SonyStyled157d ago

I was able to find games in the Vietnam dlc on ps3 the last week. There were articles on here about the server closure when it was announced in April

DaReapa157d ago

BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.

Inverno157d ago

I got really into 43 when I bought Bf3, and preferred it. Everything that I disliked or found annoying about Bf3, wasn't an issue in 43. Too bad they never bothered releasing it on PS4 or PC.

1nsomniac157d ago (Edited 157d ago )

Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!

anast157d ago

Once people stop buying micros, these companies close the doors.

Xenial156d ago

Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!
