GT5 is also blocked out. DAMMIT!!!! January for LBP2 sounds good

PS360PCROCKS4934d ago (Edited 4934d ago )

for where? It'll be November 30th in the U.S. I said that last week and I'm sticking to it. it won't release on a Friday in the states. Media ALWAYS releases on Tuesday.

edit: Oh ok I dunno when Europe usually releases but I do think Europe will come before U.S.

and Oner ok how much you want to bet it's 11/30? I guarantee it. I'll even admit it if I'm wrong.

Well your educated GUESS is wrong. Playstationblog already mistakenly announced it last night. I saw the release on the webpage, but they quickly took it down. It will be November 30th.

"Greetings Playstation Nation,

It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce the Official release date for Gran Turismo 5. It will be released on November 30th, 2010 across North America. It will be available in 2 editions. Standard and Collectors. Below are the details for each edition: "

Oner4934d ago (Edited 4934d ago )

It has to either be 11/23 the Tuesday right before Black Friday or on 11/26 Black Friday (in the US) for maximum impact.

Edit: I don't care for your "guarantee" nor do I need to "bet". I am just making an educated GUESS (and hoping it will be then).

If it is the 30th so be it. Want a cookie? I couldn't care less about your comment. My SPECIFIC point was if it came out before or on Black Friday it would have maximum impact. But you couldn't comprehend that.

Thecraft19894934d ago

zoom right in on image its says 11/23/10 witch is tuesday

Oner4934d ago (Edited 4934d ago )

11/23 looks to have even more validity ~

Now I am not saying this is confirmation, but it sure helps prove my point...

moparful994933d ago

All I have to say is when they announced the delay of gt5 I called the week of black friday for the official launch.. If they do release around black friday then maybe I should take pachters job, considering how useless he is.. lmao..

TheLastGuardian4934d ago

I don't believe anything Google translate sites say.

thief4934d ago

How I wish LBP 2 or Socom was out. Bored of CoD/MoH and all the generic shooters out this year, would have loved something different for my xmas gaming.

JacobIsHollywood4934d ago (Edited 4934d ago )

Agreed. :(

Hopefully, GT5 will make it. I was really wanting LBP2 though. I have the CE reserved and I kind of need to hold Sackboy...

Balt 4934d ago

Sony has to have one or the other come out this year. They have to. The holiday is really bleak for Sony, as Move really hasn't even put a dent into the brick wall that roadblocks them so far.

Even still, LBP and GT both don't interest me. They needed something more. An action game or something. They were too concerned about going up against COD they forgot what was important. A variety of quality games.

JacobIsHollywood4934d ago

While I agree, there are just too many games I haven't played this year for me to complain about it.

Games I still haven't touched:

- No More Heroes 2
- Bioshock 2
- Splinter Cell: Conviction
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
- Death Spank
- Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
- Front Mission: Evolved

Games I still want to finish:

- Just Cause 2
- Bayonetta
- White Knight Chronicles
- Mod Nation Racers
- MLB 10: The Show
- Metro 2033
- Amnesia: The Dark Descent
- 3D Dot Game Heroes
- Red Dead Redemption
- Mafia II
- EyePet
- Dead Rising 2
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
- Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
- Kirby's Epic Yarn
- Fallout: New Vegas
- Vanquish
- Rock Band 3

Games coming out that I'll be getting:

- Donkey Kong Country Returns
- The Sly Collection
- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
- Epic Mickey
- Gran Turismo 5

I'm not terribly concerned. Also, Valve will be having the epic Black Friday and Christmas sales they always have!!! I can't wait!

Balt 4934d ago

I get games all the time and never play them. I've got, literally 25 games, disc based games, and haven't hardly touched them. This doesn't even account for the DL games I've got.

I just lose interest so quickly. If it isn't cut and dry, Galaga or PAcman-like, I'm out of the loop with it. I've been toying with Undead Nightmare DLC and just can't get into it. It's just not fun to me. I've got Vanquish, which I do love, but still haven't beat it. I've got Castlevania which I've only played 2 hours on tops. I've got Dead Rising 2, haven't even touched it.

Games just don't really interest me these days. Everything is so basic and obvious. I buy and play more PSminis than anything else and that's crazy when you think about the sheer amount of money I've spent on Ps3 hardware.

1 launch Ps3 for 600
1 slim ps3 for 300

Sad --

JacobIsHollywood4934d ago

I understand entirely. Lol. I do the same thing. I've only gotten through a handful of games this generation...and that was because they were just so enticing, I couldn't put them down.

In fact, I'm not sure I've beaten any in one sitting...expect maybe Where The Wild Things Are and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. I just wanted the trophies though. Lol.

I have too many PSN games to play also.

Sitris4934d ago (Edited 4934d ago )

Why are you posting here? All you do is go into the comments and bag every single game. Find another hobby if this one isn't up to your standards, cause I and many others have had more fun gaming the last 3 years than all the so called golden era. Games now are evolving in a Fast way. There are more games in more genres and on More platforms, so if they can't excite you anymore, complaining about it, isn't going to change it.

Redempteur4934d ago

well i'm 4 years behind with some games i wxant to play but haven't got time to ..that's because i tend to finish my games because i don't even buy everything just games that appeal to me. ( i don't bother finishing a game i consider crap ).

i understand what you guys are saying 2009 and 2010 were packed with excellent game and 2011 seems to do the same... but even so i'm happy ..i know that even if i can't buy new games from now on , i still have LOTS LOTS of things to do ..

PlayStation 3: chasing the 1080p dream, part three - Gran Turismo 5 and the indie explosion

From Digital Foundry: "Welcome to the third part in the biggest DF Retro episode we've ever produced - a year-by-year look at how 1080p gaming fared on the PlayStation 3. Launched in 2007 touting its then-exclusive HDMI digital interface, Sony layered full HD gaming on top of its Cell processor and RSX 'Reality Synthesizer' as key selling points for its third generation console. Of course, we all know how that turned out - both Sony and Microsoft machines routinely ran the most advanced titles at sub-720p resolutions, often with questionable performance, so what happened to the 1080p dream?

In the first two parts of John Linneman's investigation, we've covered off the first four years of the Triple's lifecycle and moving into 2010, the overall fortunes of the PlayStation 3 continued to improve. The platform holder released - what was then - the most advanced motion controller in the console space, backed up by experiments with stereoscopic 3D, which turned out to be a short-lived but still formidable pairing. Combined with a strong E3 showing, PS3 was looking good.

However, it's fair to say that it was a fallow year for 1080p gaming on the system, with only Scott Pilgrim Saves The World's razor-sharp pixel art upscaling, Castle Crashers and Soldner X2's 3D/FMV stylings accommodating full HD output - alongside a wonderful Monkey Island remaster."

Just remember ladies and gentlemen, Sony never said all games would be 1080p. Only that the system would support games up to 1080p in a survey before the system was released.
https://spong.com/article/9...
And as we saw, some games did support it, some games tried their best to support it and some games didn't or never reached it.

Is a higher resolution great to have if you can do it? Sure. Is it necessary for a fun game? No

But what I find interesting is Eurogamer. Are they really talking about HD and PS3 in their article or are they really pushing their 4.50 Euros 4K video download subscription? Seems one is being used to sell the other. Just look at the bottom of the article.

Michiel1989658d ago

thats what every company tries to do, push for people to buy their products. Are you really gonna blame them for that?

ApocalypseShadow657d ago

Not all articles are about selling. They're about informing or entertaining.

Maybe I'm supposed to watch the video instead of reading. But I shouldn't have to click. But the article lazily tells us some games did hit 1080p and some didn't. I didn't learn anything new as I own the console. Then, they push a Patreon subscription.

Are you saying every opinion, preview, review and rant article requires a push to buy something now? Tell me which sites are prone to do so so that I can avoid them in the future.

Michiel1989657d ago

not everyone played during the ps3 era. I started during snes era but loved seeing articles/videos about how gaming evolved before that.

i dont think this article is trying to push you to get that patreon sub, it doesnt for me at least. I dont think theres anything wrong putting an ad at the bottom of the article. all the regular DF videos are free already.

SonyStyled657d ago

Wipeout HD on PS3, a remake of the PS1 game was 1080p 60fps. And that released in 2007-08

Christopher658d ago

This really feels like a filler article. I don't feel like I learned anything notable or substantial from this. I feel they could have reduced the unnecessary intro and over-explanation of things and put the whole series in one article for a more substantial and possibly informative piece rather than piece-mealing it out as they have.

dumahim657d ago

It's more about the video. DF Retro videos are for Patreon members first, and I think the whole thing was one big video. For the youtube channel, it gets chopped up and released weekly.

ApocalypseShadow657d ago

Chris is actually right on this one. Something known already was just kind of washed over in the article. Unless you're supposed to get more in the video. If more is in the video, then more could have been said in the article.

Only thing I learned new was that they are selling a subscription. My point though is that you gain more viewers by having better articles and content.

Older PlayStation games that we'd love to see on the PlayStation 5

From Xfire: "For a company with a three-decade-long history in gaming, Sony has done a crappy job at preserving its legacy. "
