i'll pass on the multiplayer mode

stickskills4998d ago

Just curious, do you like Left 4 Dead at all? The mode seems to be a pretty similar style.

NYC_Gamer4998d ago

nah...i'm not into online shooters

ABizzel14998d ago

You should try Left 4 Dead, it's more co-op than it is competitive.

But I would say this look more like Aliens vs. Predator.

stickskills4998d ago

Gotcha. Just trying to make sure. I'll at least give the mode a try, considering I loved the first game's atmosphere. Get a few friends playing it, and I'd probably find myself on it a bit.

mjolliffe4998d ago

It's nice that they've included multiplayer, but I'm much preferring the clips I've seen of the single-player.

GodsHand4998d ago

I'll be giving to a try this weekend, as I got a code in my email today.

FACTUAL evidence4998d ago (Edited 4998d ago )

We don't NEED MP in this......Now I gotta get trophies on a mode I'm not gunna care for!!!

Christopher4998d ago

No one knows if MP will have trophies and if it does how hard they will be to get. Let's not put the cart before the horse.

rdgneoz34998d ago

They should make the MP trophies optional to the platinum trophy.

Christopher4998d ago

The basic concept is there, IMHO, but definitely a lot to grow upon.

- Very hard to tell from which direction you're getting hit.
- No real goals shown, just free for all.
- No way to determine level of life in a necromorph

The game is out next year, so definitely some time for improvements. But it's a very basic MP right now that truly needs some direction.

Elvfam5114998d ago

I really like it...

Enemy ID should be hidden at all times
More open spaces and really tight spaces for a scary feel
Sprint for the necromorph
Be able to go through vents that be a super plus
Be able to shoot pipes as defense mechanism

UnwanteDreamz4998d ago

Well he didn't explain but it isn't a free for all. The objective is to collect pieces of a machine in order to blow a door open 1 team member carries the piece the others guard him. You are slower when you carry. Necros try to keep you from the objective.

Christopher4998d ago

I think going through vents would be great, but based on what I've seen so far, it would also be overpowered. Perhaps keep it to the small necromorphs.

Also... where's my big ole necromorph brutes?

UnwanteDreamz4998d ago

I was surprised that I liked it. This has potential to be much better than other MP that get the "tacked on" tag. They need to just be creative with the modes. Might turn out to be a bonus instead of a waste.

Nathaniel_Drake4998d ago (Edited 4998d ago )

Reminds me of L4D coop, never played L4D. Can someone who has played L4D and has played the dead space 2 beta tell me of the similarities, it looks like a lot of fun

DigitalAnalog4998d ago

I'd rather they go for the L4D route, where there is an actual objective and work enhancing teamwork. This "team deathmatch" doesn't fit the gamestyle to this game.

-End statement

the Start Reminded me of Gears of war Beast Mode? lmao jk

This looks pretty dope but I hope they focus more on the Campaign.

stickskills4998d ago

This has human controlled necromorphs though.. Beast Mode only as user controlled on one side, right?

dredgewalker4998d ago

If the single player campaign isn't affected by this then it's an okay addition. There's only so much replay you can do to a solo campaign before you get tired of it.

StitchJones4998d ago

Seems like the Bioshock 2 MP add-on. I'll just stick with the SP and enjoy every moment of it!

EA Shoots Down Dead Space 2 Remake Rumors: 'No Validity to This Story'

EA has shut down rumors that EA Motive considered a Dead Space 2 remake before shelving it due to low sales of the previous game, saying there's "no validity" to the reports.

XiNatsuDragnel51d ago

Sure.... right.... at least remake dead space 3 w/o microtransactions bs.

XiNatsuDragnel50d ago

I sometimes I wished I didn't Ngl lol

Knightofelemia50d ago

Why not remake DS2 whether shot down or not it's still my favorite game next to DS1. As much as I hate EA I would buy or would have bought DS2 day one.

MeteorPanda50d ago

No validity XD "Guys guys, we cant possible make a good game or cater to the gamers wants, stop"

Yi-Long50d ago

I don't know if sales met their expectations or not. I just know that the high review scores received my attention so I was interested in buying it, but its price stayed high (50+ bucks) for so long that I simply never bothered picking it up.

Tacoboto50d ago

Doesn't pay full price
Doesn't pay *any* price
Ponders if sales met expectations regarding an allegedly canceled sequel.

Gee...

Yi-Long50d ago

Well, for starters, I'm sure there are plenty of games I never bought which did, somehow, still, meet their sales-expectations.

Concerning Dead Space; I never played and thus cared for the original. It's in multiple genres (shooter, sci-fi, horror) I don't particularly care about so it was barely on my radar pre-launch. I was never its target-audience.

When reviews hit, and it was scoring big, it gathered my interest, so while it wasn't in my field of interest, it mrans that I wanted to give it a fair shot and at least give it a try, as I do with many games across different genres; I tend to just cherry-pick the good stuff and see if it's for me or not.

But, I do wait for sales on those games I take a risk on.

Kornholic49d ago (Edited 49d ago )

Lol, you are a huge part of the problem. If a very high-quality game is not even worth 50 bucks to you, then what is?

13 Years Later, Dead Space 2 Is Still A Perfect Video Game

Nameer from eXputer: "Dead Space 2 is a sequel that delivers such a feast that by the time you're done, you're not only full but also satisfied."

Aaroncls770d ago

It was amazing. All 3 DS games game solid for me, but 2 was special.

hombreacabado70d ago

i can do without ds3 but the first two are solid.

mariopasta70d ago

Hope they remake this one too. Just like they did with number 1. The remake of Dead Space 1 was perfection

Terry_B70d ago

thanks to the digital pass for it it was not perfect..in fact its difficult to find a working copy since many years.

I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥

SonyStyled173d ago

I was able to find games in the Vietnam dlc on ps3 the last week. There were articles on here about the server closure when it was announced in April

DaReapa173d ago

BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.

Inverno172d ago

I got really into 43 when I bought Bf3, and preferred it. Everything that I disliked or found annoying about Bf3, wasn't an issue in 43. Too bad they never bothered releasing it on PS4 or PC.

1nsomniac172d ago (Edited 172d ago )

Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!

anast172d ago

Once people stop buying micros, these companies close the doors.

Xenial172d ago

Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!
