Ninja Gaiden Developers Have A New Vision

Kotaku Writes:
Ninja Gaiden 3 is coming, under the direction of Yosuke Hayashi, a Team Ninja veteran who now heads the Japanese development studio responsible for that series and the latest Metroid. His team has a vision.

animboo4988d ago (Edited 4988d ago )

Japanese company being a Japanese company, unlike what squeenix or capcom is doing. I think it is better, i got into playing squares RPG because of the japanese feel to it, same goes for devil may cry and any other Japanese games like that b-tard capcom thrash talking head can shove it.

Yi-Long4988d ago

... they don't censor themselfs again, like they did with Sigma 1 (european version) and Sigma 2...

jjohan354988d ago

Agreed. They need to bring the blood back.

XactGamer4988d ago

I had high hopes for Sigma 2 but that was a huge disappointment.

Darrius Cole4988d ago

Yeah I know what you mean, the extra chapters, extra weapons, extra modes, extra costumes, extra playable characters, extra enemies, online co-op, and across the board graphical upgrade was less than I was expecting. (sarcasm)

gamingdroid4988d ago (Edited 4988d ago )

I was also disappointed in Sigma 2. The only thing even remotely worth it for me was the co-op mode, but had very bad net code so it is laggy as hell.

Everything else was just minor, instead he removed blood & projectiles, changed the timing of the game, dynamic of the enemies and introduced a freaken cannon.

The extra characters was freaken boring to play and this comes from a huge Ninja Gaiden fan, which is by the way my favorite game series of all time.

Personally, I will take NG2 over NGS2 despite the graphical update and the crawling game speed at times.

cayal4988d ago

I just finished Sigma 2 last night, I thought it was quite enjoyable.

HDgamer4988d ago

Lol NGS2 is better deal with it. The only thing missing is blood and thats it.

Blaster_Master4988d ago

They did such a good job with The other M,, I can't wait to see what they do next with NG3.

kaveti66164988d ago

If their vision for NG3 is the same as Ninja Theory's vision for Devi May Emo, then I don't care.

JokesOnYou4988d ago

I just hope they don't jack it up like the new "vision" of DMC franchise....@#%$$#!

JOY

BYE4988d ago

DMC? You guys will be all over that game when it comes out. You just don't know it yet.

kaveti66164988d ago

Wasn't Cliff Blezinski criticized for designing Gears characters after himself? And yet they appear to be nothing like him.

But the head designer at Ninja Theory looks like the spitting image of this new emo Dante.

No thanks, I don't want to play through that Emo developer's fantasty.

BYE4988d ago

The new character might not be cool, but I get the feeling that ANY design would have been a problem for the community.

They obviously didn't want to just copy everything from the old game, cause that's boring to the developer. So...not an situation for Ninja Theory.

I trust in their skills as a quality game dev though. This game deserves a chance.

DeckUKold4988d ago

Hell no i wont I will never accept Emo Dante/Edward.
They should have just made a new ip Twilight May Cry GTFOH!!!!

Tikicobra4988d ago (Edited 4988d ago )

I saw pictures, everyone. New Ryu has bangs and suspenders.

But that doesn't matter because you play as Raiden.

And it's an MMO.

Moonboots4988d ago

lol nice one.

Sign me up!

I hope they make the blood orange this time!

Team Ninja Doesn't Get Enough Credit For Its Stories

Saad from eXputer: "Team Ninja's stories may not appeal to everyone due to their barebones nature but they deserve credit for being fun."

mastershredder61d ago (Edited 61d ago )

Exputer dude says Team Ninja needs more credit for their stories (what their known for) and credit for being fun (also known for challenging and fun gameplay). Team Ninja gets a LOT of credit. That's why they keep making games. You just can't expect everyone to award them the attention-level and regard that you think they deserve.

"I’m aware that some things are often not for everyone. Not because someone is actively gatekeeping but due to the product or premise failing to appeal to the masses" - Hmmm l dunno, sounds kinda like we are about to go for a cruise down gatekeeper blvd to me.

Takeaway, Exputer as a pimple gaming journal site that should not be concerned about the recognition standards of a studio they have zero involvement in. You perspective is outsider and totally disconnected from reality as far as how the industry sees them.

Takeaway 2, Exputer is only in about a generation deep into Team Ninja. Posers. Take your gate keepy BS and shove it. We know what makes team ninja great and they are doing just fine doing what THEY do.

Knightofelemia61d ago

Every branch under Koei Tecmo is talented I am a big fan of theirs no matter what the game is or who makes it.

GoodGuy0961d ago (Edited 61d ago )

I thought Nioh 1+2's stories were fine, nothing amazing but they kept me interested. William and the Protag in 2 were pretty cool. Wo Long was ok I guess but it just felt like another retelling of the three kingdoms again which we've seen told so much in video games and especially dynasty warriors.

ROCKY2860d ago

Where is a new DEAD OR ALIVE !!!!
That is the only game we care about from Team Ninja 😂

Team Ninja say Rise of the Ronin will have multiple difficulty options

Rise of the Ronin's difficulty options include Narrative, Intermediate and Hard. As the name suggests, Narrative mode is for players who just want to experience the story without any serious combat. Intermediate is your standard medium difficulty that will provide some challenge while Hard is in line with Team Ninja's previous games like Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

The Nioh team’s next samurai tale launches on March 22 as a PS5 exclusive

Ghost of Tsushima... your move!

goldwyncq163d ago (Edited 163d ago )

The visuals seem somewhat unpolished and looks like from a last gen game. I wouldn’t mind a delay.

Andrew336163d ago

A game doesn't need bleeding edge visuals to be good.

goldwyncq163d ago

Ghost of Tsushima did not have the best graphics quality compared to other PS exclusives but the beautiful art style made it stand out. This game just looks generic in comparison.
