I cannot help but think that rarely any past truths concerning our hobby hold true anymore. For example: video gaming is exclusively for nerds, being able to return software as a result of the code itself being incomplete and broken, or(and perhaps most importantly) Collector’s Editions of games ACTUALLY offering reason to warrant coveting them. The latter is becoming more and more prevalent as developers and/or publishers try to pawn off valueless goods at a premium markup.

Not every Halo game has been a banger, but the franchise still has a raft of the greatest games of all time.
Infinite is a dumpster fire and as much as I like ODST, in no universe it ranks above Halo 2. This list is trash.
Best to worst: Halo 3, Halo 2, Halo Reach, Halo CE, Halo 4, Halo ODST, Halo Infinite, Halo 5.
With E3 starting next week, 2K Games revealed the biggest E3 line up they have for the year
Only game iam waiting for is for mafia 2 nothing else intrest me well only Metal gear solid peace walkers but ill get that soon
nice. waiting to see what mafia 2 and spec ops the line has too offer. not into rts games, so civ 5 not for me, and not too familiar with x-com series.
I think there are still a number of games / game companies that offer decent collector's editions. LittleBigPlanet 2 is getting (or at least so far the US version) a Collector's editon that is the first to take large notice from myself for a few years now. A plushie Sackboy, and special LBP game-ends. Nothing too spectacular, but neither is the price, and what they're offering is something that interests me and something that I think a lot of LBP fans want which is what's important.
Totally agree about art books too, I absolutely adore special / collector's editions that have them. It's a shame some nowadays are just full of renders or just very small.
Collectors editions shouldn't contain some cheap plastic thing for showing off but rather a smaller piece which is limited... with Call of Duty instead of a remote control car how about a small metal gun. Wouldn't you agree if you could have a shelf of small metal pieces which shows what games you own.
For Mafia 2 a tommy gun or 50's car or a mini playboy in metal.
For Resistance 2 a Chimera
For Halo: Reach a Spartan Helment
You get the idea, I don't want large stuff to put in a closet, I'd like a shelf to display these metal figures of games I like.
How does that sound to you?
i like the models you get, like the gears of war character models, or the halo reach legendary edition model, the gran turismo model car, for me that makes a collecters/special edition, i thought a limited edtion was only available on day one and in game content that you could only get by getting it on day one.
But it must have an art book for me to bite. I loved Arkham, but i was a bit let down with the batarang. Cheap plastic, but im sure if it had been metal some kid would been hurt and video games would have been the cause of another senseless death.
Every single item mentioned can burn in hell, ESPECIALLY if they want you to pay more for it.
