GoldenEye 007 Will Be The Reason You Dust Off Your Wii This Fall

DualShockers writes, "During the E3 expo in Los Angeles this year Nintendo’s show arguably packed the biggest punch out of the big three players. Although there had been reports hinting at a 3D version of Nintendo’s popular handheld weeks before the show, the actual announcement and unveiling of the hardware had people going crazy. Was I excited? Not Really. An announcement of a new Zelda had all of the journalists losing their minds. Me… not so much. The announcement of a recreated Goldeneye 007… now we are f*cking talking. To say that I have been excited about this title would be an understatement. After finally getting my hands on it, I am now shaking in anticipation. Check out the complete developer video interview and find out why Goldeneye 007 will be the reason you dust off your Wii, it’s really that good..."

oldschool!!! i want to play now!

Bedrockk5050d ago

am i the only one that feels that new goldeneye is just a bit too much like the OLD goldeneye - this game may suffer from the nostalgia that made it soo great it forgets it get enough updates to make it current again - and, on the Wii?! blaaah ...

Hitman07695050d ago

Actually I've been hearing its a lot like Call of Duty..

thevokillist5050d ago

you didn't just compare this to CoD? No way. They shouldn't have made a remake, needs a new Bond game, not a remake with Daniel Craig's face plastered onto it...

JoelT5050d ago

thats what I thought at first too, but after playing it, it really does go back to it's roots in a great way.

Bedrockk5050d ago

fair enough. don't get me wrong, i hope it does turn out to be great b/c i loved the original Goldeneye, but to say its going to get me back to my Wii?! thats a tall order, my friend ...

Bedrockk5050d ago

i mean, its one thing to rehash a franchise, but to simply rehash the exact game?! this is a classic example of a company going back to the well in out of desperation to get our $$$. I'll sooner buy a 3DS before i dust off my Wii.

Chadness5050d ago

Hey the Wii is a great system if you like certain games. Besides, the original Goldeneye was awesome. ;)

cult_of_N5049d ago

Rare made the original Goldeneye, and this is being made by Activision... it can't be the exact same game dude, they'd get sued... big time.

booni35050d ago

Im hyped about this revamp. I played golden eye on the 64 for hours on end. It brought me and my cousins very much entertainment and so i have fond memories of it. I hope they tread carefully...its a classic.

GoldenEye 007 Will Be The Reason You DUST Off Your Wii This Fall (dust)

Wii is a great console with great tittles
i have a Wii and 360 but the 360 is the one that i don.t play it
I mean i play the Wii more than 360 ( i don't have to dust it) anyway

iiprotocolii5050d ago

I agree and disagree. There are a lot of other titles besides 007 that are coming this fall which will make use of the Wii. 007, though, IS one of them. I can't wait to actually play it - been a fan of the game and its multiplayer since N64.

Cheat providers for competitive games should be illegal.

Rynxie2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

This is what developers and manufacturers should do. I know going after cheat devices/makers is a cat and mouse game, and cost money. However, they can get that money back by sueing these manufacturers of cheat devices. Take a page from Nintendo's playbook.

Great news it shows that Nintendo intends to continue developing ports of AAA games to its next gen platform

H912d ago

Buying studios from embracer now is a great deal, they must be dirt cheap at this point, Nintendo is a opportunist, they wait until someone fall so they get their best deal

OtterX11d ago

That is some serious brain gymnastics you have going on there. 🤔

H911d ago

I didn't do any gymnastics I can assure you, honestly I don't know why you think that, not hating I seriously don't see why you think that

ZeekQuattro11d ago

Yeah I don't know where that came from. It's rare for Nintendo to flat out aquire studios. Guess they were trying to be edgy but why flex on this studio. 🤣

Kneetos10d ago

At least they are safer from layoffs with Nintendo then any other company

banger8812d ago

I hope someone buys Piranha Bytes, their future isn't looking good right now. I love their RPGs, they're janky as f***, but they have heart and soul.

Nintendo saw the Mortal Kombat 1 Switch port and were like, "Yeah, these guys are worth acquiring."

You can't make this crap up lol

Profchaos11d ago

Mortal Kombat 1 was never going to port well I'm sure they told wb it wasn't going to work but wb wants that sweet sweet 140 million install base

In the end wb approved the project cleared the milestones and allowed the product to release

SonOfOsiris11d ago

Yeah this guys ported MK11 which is great, Hogwarts Legacy which is great, and MK1 is now ok, play it every day

They’re not working on Call of Duty? Give it time.
