Echoing sentiments of Take-Two CEO Ben Feder about Rockstar Games' breakout hit Red Dead Redemption, Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz said today that Red Dead was so popular in May that it likely "cannibalized other title sales."
In advance of this Thursday's NPD results for May, Creutz forecasted a software sales bump of 16% for the month, noting that Red Dead probably sold around 1.32 million, nearly doubling an estimated 700K for Nintendo's Super Mario Galaxy 2.
From school politics to ping-pong, pistols to police procedurals, let’s dive into the best that Rockstar has to offer.
Take-Two head Strauss Zelnick has denied closing Rollerdrome developer Roll7 or Kerbal Space Program 2 studio Intercept Games.
That's hilarious because he did and said the same thing with 2K Marin who developed Bioshock 2
They've been closed since 2013 but not officially acknowledged
He just doesn't want the backlash so pretends there's no issue.
Rockstar Games may be preparing to release its open world action adventure game, Red Dead Redemption 1, on PC.
There aren't many games I'd double dip for, but having originally gotten this for PS3, I would happily get this if true.
well it should since its on two consoles...
SMG2 just came out. What about the first SMG? And these are NPD numbers, not worldwide. Wow, a gritty shooter sold more in America than Super Mario Galaxy 1.5? STOP TEH PRESSEZ!
Plus, RDR launched on twice the gaming platforms as SMG2 did.
Just saying. Let's be logical, people.
RDR has sold 3.63m on both consoles combined in five weeks.
@Deathracer: then what am i supposed to follow?
Good for RDR. The game is amazing. It's not perfect, but that's alright. I have fun when I play it. The entire reason I game.
yeah because MG2 is only on Wii...
But games like MG2 tend to have longer legs in sales, so its just a matter of time.
