1Up: Check out our high-res gallery of the most impressive looking games of the show.

HighDefinition5093d ago

Sony`s presentation, Crysis2, Rage.

Fin.

FangBlade5093d ago

"Killzone 3: This may very well be the best looking game ever -- and it's even better in 3D."

I agree.

Redrum0595093d ago

GT5 3D hands down. Yes I have seen it in 3D and it's out of this world.

HolyOrangeCows5093d ago

Killzone 3, Crysis 2, GT5, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Rage.

DJexs5093d ago

I am so pumped for killzone 3 just wish they would show something other then the snow. Also for the love of god please no jetpacks in multiplayer.

raztad5093d ago

IMO:

Killzone 3 eats all them up. High res textures + smooth AA + beautiful lightning + incredible snow + impressive and real looking sea + all the crazy particle effects going on, it's total win

Crysis is second. Solid textures, nice lightning and very good particle effects.

Third comes Rage. Gorgeous textures, butter smooth framerate, nice lightning but not much going on in everything else.

MNicholas5093d ago

with scenes that are genuine CGI quality.

Overall, given the sheer scope of the action and the quality of the rendered image, Killzone 3 is probably doing as much or more from a computation standpoint.

Sony's presentation isnt a game. Maybe you mean Killzone 3.
From that list I say remove Epic Mickey and put Mortal Kombat.

deafwing5093d ago

.. they weren't impressed by Lords of Shadow ...that game looked good.

Gears of War stole the show. Nothing like it this generation of gaming. the level of life like, rubbery graphics is unmatched. New weapons, New gadgets, New enemies, 4 player co-op, new Beast Horde mode where you play as all the enemies against the humans and of course it ships with a new multi-player. The complete package. Out in 2011.

KZ 3 looked better running ingame than the crappy trailer. Same enemies, same weapons. The graphics looked great but that was never the problem. Unfortunately game play looks the same except they added all the pre rendered back drops like UC and GOW. Still early but other than stabbing guys in the eyes, Move compatible, no swearing and you need a new TV to play it in 3D, I don't see a big difference. Out in 2011.

Rage caused a riot earlier this year in Europe among gamers and journalist who saw the demo at a show there...now you know why. They " claim" you rarely see the same thing twice. Big talk. The live trailer was very impressive. Still got another year to polish it more. WoW...it's been in development for 7 yrs. Out in 2011. BTW Brink looks nothing like the in game trailers they released...disappointing.

Bulletstorm looked insane with a huge world and crazy over the top story and game play. 2011 for this one too.

MGS looked great. Not a big hack slash guy but the graphics looked good.

Nintendo doesn't have good graphics...PERIOD. The 3DS costs as much as a console. Wii does have many games coming out this year and that is a big advantage if you ask me.

Crysis looked good until Crytek said the demo was on PC. Worried for the consoles. Wait and see.

MOH, COD looked ok. Nothing really new tho. Ghost Recon looked great. Destructible environments, can't wait for the beta. So-com wasn't really shown, but it looks good as well.

Halo Reach looked awesome as usual. 4 player co-op, firefight and some of the best multi-player around. Best part...it releases in 12 weeks. BTW...fable 3 looked the same as Fable 2...whats up lionhead???

ALL the car racing games look awesome. GT is shiny, NFS looks insane, FI looks realistic...great year for car racing fans. EXCEPT...twisted metal, wow, that was disappointing.

T9X695093d ago

Crysis demo was on Xbox 360, you could see the Xbox buttons on the screen plain as day...

NnT32915093d ago

They said the trailer was PC footage. The demo was on 360

weazel5093d ago

Wow....so much boring bs. Quite the talented little fella, aincha' outrageous.

Double Toasted5093d ago

Gears 3 is GODLY!!! Nothing out there even comes close. Go get your head and eyes checked and lay off the crack pipe.

FACTUAL evidence5093d ago

they need to add Infamous 2 up there! Did you guys just see those new infamous screens!? Uc2 level graphics.

beavis4play5093d ago (Edited 5093d ago )

i was stunned when i saw the HD gameplay trailer.

it should be on a list by itself.

JsonHenry5093d ago

Rage looks the best, in my opinion. The best part is that it is multiplat and everyone gets to enjoy it!!

MNicholas5093d ago (Edited 5093d ago )

It's just Borderlands with a more generic art style. It's characterized by very little pixel shading, low-polygon character models, not a lot of post-processing, but lots and lots of hype.

Modern Warfare 2 is also 60fps yet much more dynamic.

LarVanian5093d ago

Killzone 3, Crysis 2, Motorstorm: Apocalypse and Dead Space 2 were my favorites graphically.
Assassin's Creed: BroHood and Little Big Planet 2 were also amazing looking.

Dnied5093d ago

almost forgot about the brotherhood viewing..

That looked excellent so far, looks like they took a page from naughty dog and added some cinematic sequences during gameplay etc.

Looking forward to that title

Strange_Evil5093d ago

Ya AC2:B looked really cool from those videos... I thought it would just be AC2.5, but that Villa cinematic section blew me away. The graphics seem a lot better (finally next gen character models) and the gameplay looked good as always.

3sq5093d ago (Edited 5093d ago )

Rage looks kinda cartoony.

beavis4play5093d ago (Edited 5093d ago )

while the enviroments are nice looking - effects (smoke, explosions, fire...etc) are practically nonexistant; animations (particularly death animations) are lacking; and enemy AI seems weak. (example - they cluster together nicely for the player to use his weapons on them)

it still has time to get better - but it doesn't come close to KZ3 at this point.

Panthers5093d ago

I havent seen anything about Child of Eden. That looks cool. Gunna go check it out.

Hallmark Moment5093d ago (Edited 5093d ago )

Reports from G4TV and other sites saying it was one of the most impressive and popular games on the show floor. Huge lines for it.

The list is a bit off and so are the comments. At least author of the article somewhat admits Rage is up there despite the media and gamers buzzing all over the web with a consensus of nothing coming close to Rage. Probably the loudest G4TV hands on demo aplaudes from the show floor I've ever heard.

Why Indie Games Fail To Keep Their Place In The Spotlight

A look into the sad trajectory of indie games from high successful releases to complete irrelevancy in just a few weeks or months.

shaenoide1d 12h ago

Easy not enough developpers to add content to the game (palworld)

Profchaos1d 11h ago

That's the thing with gaming there's always new experiences to have why spend months or years playing a single game when there's a new experience right around the corner.

Indie or AAA if your building your game expecting long term player counts you'll probably be disappointed as gamers often enjoy something for a few weeks and move on only to return if it's truely a classic.

Out of all the generations I've experienced there's games from 30 plus years ago I still dust off and play like super Mario bros, earthbound, vice city and san Andreas being games I treasure and revisit every few years but I'm not going back to play a game designed to keep me engaged for months on end because it's also designed to milk my wallet in most cases.

Build a great game that people love make it playable offline and ask does it matter if the concurrent player count is under 100 a year post launch more often that not it doesn't

P_Bomb1d 8h ago

The price of entry is too high to take chances like I used to. Was looking at V Rising and that ranges from $50-$130 CAD. That’s a lot for an indie imo. By the time it goes on sale, the player count might be dwindling. But that’s the trade-off, I guess.

Si-Fly1d 5h ago

I’m glad my preference is single player experiences, Indie devs got me covered 👊🏻

Flewid6381d 4h ago

Indie devs dont make multiplayer games?

Read the article dude 👍🏻
