I was really really looking forward to this, however now that I keep hearing how bad they screwed up Alpha Protocol, I am very worried they will screw the pooch with this one too.

UnwanteDreamz5103d ago

They had a 4 page preview in last months GI. I think this one might be better than FO3. To tell the truth I can't wait.

I guess the GOTY FO3 will have to tide me over till then if I need a wasteland fix.

TheDuke775103d ago

quick question for ya, is your GOTY edition for PS3? and if so, is it super buggy, almost to the point of unplayable? the reason I ask is I sold my normal version when I heard the GOTY was coming out, so I was just gonna buy it with all the DLC. But then I keep hearing how bad it is and glitchy and what not, now i'm not to sure if I should pick it up. could just be that most peoples works great, but they just wouldn't say anything on forums, since they don't have issues.
Im thinking I will pick it up anyways, since its likely in my top 5 games of all time

UnwanteDreamz5103d ago

No more issues than my original copy of Fallout 3. I havent completed it so I can't comment on the entire game but I got a couple of friends on the PS3 with 100% of the GOTY completed and they didn't complain about it being unplayable or anything.

TheDuke775103d ago (Edited 5103d ago )

Sweet, thats all the confirmation I need. I'll be picking it up this weekend, I have been having Wasteland withdrawals for too long

@GAM3R7l

I was hoping it would be something like that. I'm super pumped for this game, Fallout 3 blew my mind

Hideo_Kojima5103d ago

I haven't seen any review or videos or read any news about this game.

All I know is that it is in New York and that am buying it because FallOut is awesome.

Omega Archetype5103d ago

@1.1.4

It's set in Las Vegas, not New York lol. Were you meaning something else, or did you really think that it's set in New York?

Hideo_Kojima5103d ago

Tomato Tomahto (New) Vegas confused me I forgot it was Vegas.

DelbertGrady5103d ago

I think you are confusing Bethesda with Obsidian.

RememberThe3575103d ago

Obsidian is developing New Vegas and Bethesda is publishing.

SullyDrake5103d ago

Bethesda is still gonna be publishing it but Obsidian is developing New Vegas, most likely because Bethesda is busy with Fallout 4 and Elder Scrolls V.

RememberThe3575103d ago

Mentioned that AP had horrid producers and that Sega didn't really intervene fast enough to fix the issues with the game.

In that some comment though, the dev said that their other games were looking much more promising.

SullyDrake5103d ago

I don't care that the tech is barely upgraded, just make it run smooth and remove all freezing issues. Give me a smooth-performing FO3 with a new story and gameplay elements and I am very satisfied.

GAM3R7l5103d ago

Alpha Protocol turned to sh1t because the majority of Obsidian went to work on Fallout:NV well over a year ago. The flunkies were left to try and finish the game, rather than cancel it, with the extra year's delay...but failed miserably.

Fallout:NV will be awesome.

zeeshan5103d ago

I am playing Fallout 3 again these days and I am exploring the areas I never explored before. I LOVE THAT GAME but graphically New Vegas looks EXACTLY like FALLOUT 3. Don't get me wrong, I am going to buy this game anyway but you'd think that after all this time, after all the killzones and uncharteds, some developers would actually want to improve the graphics of their game.

Getting this for my PS3 :D

Omega Archetype5103d ago

Cool! I'll be buying it on 360 like I did with FO3.

Either way you can't go wrong though. It's okay, cause I'll be picking up Dead Space 2 on PS3 when it comes out, I got the original Dead Space on PS3 and I like to keep the same series on the same platform. That's just how I work.

asyouburn5103d ago

so in ten years if i want to play it again, i still can

SullyDrake5103d ago (Edited 5103d ago )

Like you Omega Archetype, I like keeping a series on the same platform. I happily purchased Fallout 3 on PS3 so Getting Fallout: New Vegas on PS3 only makes sense.

Plus, in my opinion any RPG (or game in general) with extensive menu navigation is better on PS3 just for the infinitely superior d-pad alone. The 360 controller is fine but the d-pad on it gives me a headache.

Omega Archetype5103d ago

I know what you mean, but I didn't have any problems with Fallout 3 in that department so it's not a big deal to me.

@asyouburn: I've had my 360 for almost 2 years (my PS3 for almost 3) and I've not had a problem with it. My brother on the other had has had to return/send in multiple 360s. He bought a new Elite and after only 4 months it's disc drive died.

So I can understand the cautious attitude towards the 360, but I guess I've been lucky. Also I install every game I play, so it doesn't strain my disc drive (my brother did the same, but it still broke regardless.) Still, I take extremely good care of my systems (after all they weren't cheap and I can't afford to go buy more consoles.)

BubbleSystemSuck5103d ago

..is called NEW VEGAS

not 4
not 3.5

BeaArthur5103d ago

So by your standards every sequel is a .5.

BubbleSystemSuck5103d ago (Edited 5103d ago )

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits21d ago (Edited 21d ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv7221d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii21d ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast21d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM20d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife20d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit20d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife20d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!

Fallout Anthology Edition Looks Pretty S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

The Fallout Anthology Edition is coming to PC very soon, and is packaged with some very S.P.E.C.I.A.L. bonuses.

-Foxtrot42d ago

It’s an awful downgrade to the last one they did

They included physical disc back then

ocelot0741d ago

Forgot I ordered this until I got the dispatch email.
