EVERYONE has been saying how exceptional Bad Company 2's audio is. Rawrockkillz, it IS the best sound I've ever heard in a game! IGN is wrong. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. If MW2 got an 8 in sound, I wouldn't complain, but saying that MW2 has BETTER sound than Bad Company 2 is RIDICULOUS.

You keep mentioning MW2... I though I was watching a MW2 untill I realised the game looks outstanding and it's not full of glitches.

MW2 does stuff similar, like the jumping bits...
MW2 doesn't do the epic thing quite as well as Bad Company 1 in my opinion

Also STOP MENTIONING MW2... MW2 wasn't the first game to do perks you know.
Also this guy didn't find the Bad Company 1 humour good and forced.

Biased review. Their negative thoughts on the SP are basically the exact same as the problems with MW2's SP, and yet MW2 gets a higher score.

Wrong. Uncaharted 2 has nothing on Bad Co 2's audio. There is so much more going on and so many background sounds in BC2. Uncharted just doesn't have that.

Errrmmm. Wrong.

Uncharted 2 uses a sophisticated 7.1 LPCM Uncompressed HD surround sound. Have you even heard of Lossless audio? The actual effects in BC2 are pretty good, but the sound is compressed to fit on a DVD and it can only be output through a 5.1 set-up at the most.

Nice try though. While BC2 is clearly a strong candidate for excellent audio design, it doesn't even come close to what ND has achieved.

For instance, as my friend mentioned earlier today, the echo effect simulated in interior areas is a very nice addition, but the effect in no way corresponds with the scope of the building. You can be in a tiny room or a sprawling warehouse and it sounds exactly the same.

Having said that, while the effects are great in their own right, they could always be expanded upon. It'd be great if DICE utilized the extra space offered by the Blu-Ray format to give us uncompressed 7.1 LPCM, but hey, what do you expect. Multiplat developers hardly ever go outside their homeostatic multiplatform ethics. No matter what, all multiplats will always be equal, no matter how much more powerful the PS3 is than the 360.

This is saddening.

Hopefully this trend will die off with Crysis 2.

DICE actually went up to some mountains in LA to record audio. Also, BC2's sound is much more dynamic and realistic. The audio for everything changes depending both on the environment and even according to destruction.

Like if you're in an attic and shoot a rifle, you'll hear the bullet casings hit the floor. If you blow a hole into that roof and then shoot, you won't hear the same sound of the bullet casings. The sound becomes less audible because there is less echo since you blew a hole into the roof. THAT is quality sound, and no game does Audio like that.

IGN could have give this a 7.0, I don't really care. I played the freaking DEMO more than I have all of MW2, and that's just ONE map. I pre-ordered this game all the way back on the 21st of December. Can't wait for Tuesday!

I agree I put in over 90 hours on the demo. I was one who bought mw2 when it came out and was pretty dissapointed I think to date I've put in maybe 31 hours. It's whatever though, I can't wait till tuesday!!

i could care less what any review score is. i played the beta on PC, its a BF title geared more towards consoles with the lack of Comma-Rose, the Frostbite engine being ported to the PC, and lack of jets but the game is damn fun. has a ton more depth and teamwork then MW2 would ever have. oh well. i know a great game when i play it.

For the most part youre right but I have spent a little time on BF2 more recently. BF2 is superior to BC1 in every way, no doubt about it but I guess I never really grasped the comma rose. Although I do use it constantly in PR. For vanilla BF2 I never found my self using it.

This is IGN. The same guys that gave MW2 PC version a 9.5/10. They have zero credibility.

The funny thing is, the reviewer is complaining about how short the campaign is, at about 6 hours, while MW2 campaign was not even 5 hours long.

Oh, and they gave this game 9.0 for graphics, while MW2 got 9.5. I think someone needs to get fired from the IGN reviewing staff.

Although I completely agree that DICE did terrible SP with the first game and most likely the second, when it comes to MP BC2 is the best on a console PERIOD. The sound gets an 11/10. If you turn your surround up your house will literally come loose from its foundation. Dont even get me started on those graphics. If you havent played the demo, you NEED to. Youre missing out on shooter of the year if you pass this gem up. If you dont like a good multiplayer experience with intense action great sound and really good graphics but prefer recycled garbage, stick with your modern noobfair 2.

Just gimmie the game we all know (those of us that have played the bad co 2 demo and bad co 1) how this game really stacks up. IMO there weren't any backroom deals with ign or some crap like that, the fact is THIS GAME IS BETTER THAN MW2. Nobody i repeat nobody does audio like dice, and i personally find the frostbite engine to be a marvel. Shame about the 360 weapon swap load times. I just watched the review and wow is all I can say, utter crap that they didn't give it a higher score than 8.9 which is still great but I cannot help but think there was something else at play here in this review. Basically he was butthurt over the fact that Battlefield destroys MW2 in a lot of areas so he decided to make up some off-the-wall negatives like missed epic feeling and brief campaign wha?!??! with postives of Great Multiplayer, VISUAL TREAT, and a Solid Campaign, and for audio he said fantasic audio and above-average voice-acting... how does that equate to a 9.0 and not a 10, I don't get it at all, this review left me scratching my head, somebody failed math class.

In their opinion....If you were to buy Bad Company 2 solely for the single-player campaign, you might come away a bit disappointed. That's not to say it's particularly bad in any way, but it doesn't feel impressive enough to stand on its own as a great experience. ....As for MW2 SP, which is really what they scored it against right, MW2's SP was amazing , the voice acting and everything was spot on. So if they felt this was a little like the 1st Bad Co, annoying then thats why the lower score. MW2 got away with a short SP because it was great, BBC2 didn't because it's not so great. Simple really. But remember all the people who will come on here to bleat about MW2 only a 6 hour campaign.remember do you hehe makes me chuckle when BBC2 is about the same.

was looking to rent it only anyways. SP only being 6 hours, and i have MAG for online play right now. i am not much of a MP player, so i dont usually buy more than one every 6 months.

still should be a fun rent. 6 hours is fine for a rent. then i had fun with bthw original PS3 beta. i didnt really like the beta, but i think it was the map i didnt like. if i end up playing a lot of it i would keep it , and maybe sell or give away MAG.

Watch the Modern Warfare 2 video review. Umm, they didn't seem to dock many marks because of the 6 hour campaign in THAT! God IGN really annoys me like that. I know 8.9 is usually brilliant, but how they give MW2 9.5 and this that mark is dumb.
