deadreckoning6665190d ago (Edited 5190d ago )

Oh Jesus, I can't wait for this game!

deadreckoning6665190d ago (Edited 5190d ago )

@spacefox- Yeah! How does MW2 get a 10 in sound and Bad Company 2 get a 9?

EVERYONE has been saying how exceptional Bad Company 2's audio is. Rawrockkillz, it IS the best sound I've ever heard in a game! IGN is wrong. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. If MW2 got an 8 in sound, I wouldn't complain, but saying that MW2 has BETTER sound than Bad Company 2 is RIDICULOUS.

cyborg69715190d ago

Same here. In fact I'm trading in MW2 for this game. Can't wait cause MW2 was such a let down. I mean how can you mess that game up. But they did just amazing how arrogant IW was.

Death24945190d ago

when he said that MW2 has the crown for multiplayer. OMG will everyone please give MW2 back their nutts please. MW2 was broken as hell yet they convinced 15 million people to buy that crap. Multiplayer is ruled by glitchers. Battlefield will always have the multiplayer crown IMO.

ALL_STAR_285190d ago

Utter Bull sh*t.... How this game doesn't score higher than MW2 I have no idea.

Not to say an 8.9 isn't a great score because it is... It's just ridiculous. MW2 sound=10 but Bad Co 2's=9 wow.

IGNorant

creamydingle5190d ago

Brief campaign at 6 hours at least its twice as long as mw2.

captain-obvious5190d ago

MW2 has the crown for multiplayer my
A S S

anyway
i cant wait

Pixel_Addict5190d ago

Every complaint he said about Bad Company 2 could be applied to Modern Warfare 2! I thought I could lose more respect from IGN.

solar5190d ago

who the hell buys a BF game for its "SP experience"?

shimme015190d ago

to kick ass and chew bubblegum

dirthurts5190d ago

Gamestop is having a big late Monday party for the release. I'll be there.
I won't actually have the game in my hand till midnight though...but I'll be close enough to it.
: )

ScoobyDrew5190d ago

oh well who really cares about the singleplayer anyways... they said the multiplayer was great, and thats the number 1 reason i'm getting this game in the first place

SteelyPhil5189d ago

if anyone buys a battlefield game for the single player, then they're buying it for the wrong reason. i wouldn't mind if they had just not had a single player and focused solely on mutiplayer.

swiftshot935190d ago

For reference, MW2 scored a 9.5 on IGN.

rawrockkillz5190d ago

MW2 did not deserve that score at all. It's called everyone was on the Hype Train. Bad Company 2 deserves better.

Mista T5190d ago (Edited 5190d ago )

here's a link to the mw2 review for comparison's sake
http://xbox360.ign.com/arti...

nothing like some like some backroom negations with Activision about the BC2 review to thicken up your back pocket huh IGN

this game beats MW2 in every shape and from, day 1. and why did IGN mention MW2 so much? scared for your overrated POS? and he calls the specs you can use online "perks" what a joke review

Snowb4205190d ago

Maybe they just sucked at BC2's multiplayer, after all it does take skill unlike COD.

mrv3215190d ago

You keep mentioning MW2... I though I was watching a MW2 untill I realised the game looks outstanding and it's not full of glitches.

MW2 does stuff similar, like the jumping bits...
MW2 doesn't do the epic thing quite as well as Bad Company 1 in my opinion
Flying a Helicopter> anything on foot
Also STOP MENTIONING MW2... MW2 wasn't the first game to do perks you know.
Also this guy didn't find the Bad Company 1 humour good and forced.

Tell me that you didn't laugh at any of these.

GENIUS

Bad Company 2 demo>MW2 in my opinion, it's pure and simple

MW2 story is stupid and for a realistic game it's just stupid
NO CHARACTER skiping in Bad Company 2. I could not care any less for the people in MW2.
Epic online.
Epic online.
Epic.. I allready mentioned that.... trust me when I say Bad Company 2 is AWSOME.

rawrockkillz5190d ago

Haha. I never did play Bad Company 1 but those clips were hilarious.

Dave13515190d ago

I loved bad company 1 (multiplayer not single player)

mrv3215190d ago

I love Bad Company 1 singleplayer and multiplayer, I enjoyed the story and I liked how for once they didn't take war 100% serious. I felt like three kings.

SpaceFox5190d ago

Biased review. Their negative thoughts on the SP are basically the exact same as the problems with MW2's SP, and yet MW2 gets a higher score.

And a 9 in Sound? Wuut? Nobody does sound better in the industry than DICE, and somehow MW2 got a 10 in Sound. Yeah... bad review.

rawrockkillz5190d ago

I agree. Bad Company 2 has the best audio i've heard in a game.

JussBlazn5190d ago

its a battlefield game! who cares about single player

Killjoy30005190d ago

Uncharted 2 still retains the crown for audio design. No game even comes close to Uncharted's audio design.

ALL_STAR_285190d ago

Wrong. Uncaharted 2 has nothing on Bad Co 2's audio. There is so much more going on and so many background sounds in BC2. Uncharted just doesn't have that.

Killjoy30005190d ago (Edited 5190d ago )

Errrmmm. Wrong.

Uncharted 2 uses a sophisticated 7.1 LPCM Uncompressed HD surround sound. Have you even heard of Lossless audio? The actual effects in BC2 are pretty good, but the sound is compressed to fit on a DVD and it can only be output through a 5.1 set-up at the most.

Nice try though. While BC2 is clearly a strong candidate for excellent audio design, it doesn't even come close to what ND has achieved.

For instance, as my friend mentioned earlier today, the echo effect simulated in interior areas is a very nice addition, but the effect in no way corresponds with the scope of the building. You can be in a tiny room or a sprawling warehouse and it sounds exactly the same.

Having said that, while the effects are great in their own right, they could always be expanded upon. It'd be great if DICE utilized the extra space offered by the Blu-Ray format to give us uncompressed 7.1 LPCM, but hey, what do you expect. Multiplat developers hardly ever go outside their homeostatic multiplatform ethics. No matter what, all multiplats will always be equal, no matter how much more powerful the PS3 is than the 360.

This is saddening.

Hopefully this trend will die off with Crysis 2.

paskowitz5190d ago

Killjoy I believe the game you meant was Killzone 2. Now that game had some insanely good audio.

Killjoy30005190d ago

I was talking about Uncharted 2. I would also put Killzone 2 ahead of BC2 though, placing BC2 at a close third place.

Pandamobile5190d ago

My god, Killjoy, you just can't admit that a multiplatform game has better sound than a PS3 exclusive, can you?

Killjoy30005190d ago

Don't be foolish, Pandamobile. I'm being fanboyish, I'm just stating the facts. Console exclusivity has nothing to do with this argument. Though I do admire your lame attempt to turn this into a console debate. Shoudn't you be playing the Starcraft 2 beta or something?

SpaceFox5190d ago

DICE actually went up to some mountains in LA to record audio. Also, BC2's sound is much more dynamic and realistic. The audio for everything changes depending both on the environment and even according to destruction.

Like if you're in an attic and shoot a rifle, you'll hear the bullet casings hit the floor. If you blow a hole into that roof and then shoot, you won't hear the same sound of the bullet casings. The sound becomes less audible because there is less echo since you blew a hole into the roof. THAT is quality sound, and no game does Audio like that.

Killjoy30005190d ago

That's just the effects. I'm talking about the actual sound quality.

typical for them to mention MW2 so many times, they didn't get spoonfed when they played online I'm guessing :P

they prefer a glitchy hackfest

Death24945190d ago

Why....Oh why didn't we all stop and think when it said IGN review.

I haven't considered them a credible site in a very long time.

I just started playing Spec op. I've had it for years on steam and forgot about it. Such a good game.

Fantastic game,.so underated

Cacabunga81d ago

Yes great game spec ops! Since the time we’ve been asking sony to make one:/

Auto Modelista.. a PS2 capcom racer!! A blast to play and great graphics!
Maximo!
Rival Schools!

LordoftheCritics81d ago

Spec Ops: The Line was super dark.

Incredible story.

SheenuTheLegend80d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long81d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons81d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor81d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens5280d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey60280d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor81d ago

I have quite a few of these. Timed licenses suck.

Terry_B80d ago (Edited 80d ago )

wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.

Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.

I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥

SonyStyled155d ago

I was able to find games in the Vietnam dlc on ps3 the last week. There were articles on here about the server closure when it was announced in April

DaReapa155d ago

BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.

Inverno154d ago

I got really into 43 when I bought Bf3, and preferred it. Everything that I disliked or found annoying about Bf3, wasn't an issue in 43. Too bad they never bothered releasing it on PS4 or PC.

1nsomniac154d ago (Edited 154d ago )

Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!

anast154d ago

Once people stop buying micros, these companies close the doors.

Xenial154d ago

Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!

Battlefield Legacy - Sunsetting Announcement

EA: "As we close in on 15 years since the release of Battlefield 1943, and Bad Company™ 1 & 2, we are announcing that their journey is coming to an end."

darthv72419d ago

This reminds me... I have ME on my PS3 hdd. Never really played it, but it was free.

XiNatsuDragnel419d ago

Digital future ppl is good they say nope imo

Eidolon418d ago

And it still says nothing about being able to downloaded even when it's off the storefront, that's a huge ouchie for some who somehow still have it in their backlog...

Shane Kim418d ago

Dont make it an issue when it's not. If you haven't played it in 15 years, chances are you'll never play it.

isarai419d ago

That all digital future sure looks great!

/s

zidane1341419d ago (Edited 419d ago )

Online game servers shut off eventually all the time. Doesn’t matter if you have the disc or not. Even if you have the disc, it’ll be just paperweight unless the game lets you connect directly to a friend or LAN play.

isarai419d ago (Edited 419d ago )

Read the article bro. They are delisting the games, including mirrors edge which is an offline game. Online servers i can understand, not being able to buy/download the games anymore? Completely separate issue, especially seeing as how some these games had lengthy sp campaigns and not just mp.

zidane1341419d ago

@israrai, you can still buy the disc for less then 10$. Hardly a loss.

TheEnigma313419d ago

You shouldn't have to buy the disc, that's the issue.

OhReginald418d ago (Edited 418d ago )

Some brilliant minds created servers to keep these old online games alive. A lot of ps2 and ps3 games that had there servers shut down a long time ago have been restored by fans to keep it going. Warhawk, killzone 2, socom 2/ confrontation, resident evil outbreak series, etc.

+ Show (1) more replyLast reply 418d ago
DankSinatra418d ago

The disc still exist. I don’t understand the issue. You guys are upset about that “all digital future” yet these games are not “digital only”. Hell digital only is a minority in the gaming world and so far we haven’t moved into it, the only digital only games are games as a service or online only games, which end up failing in the end.

This is no different than a store that stops selling old games, just go and buy a copy somewhere else. So which is it, you hate all digital or you like it? Make up your mind.

isarai418d ago

Talk about missing the point entirely. I'm not going to sit here and explain it to you, figure it out.

DankSinatra418d ago

Talk about whining about something and not wanting to explain from an off handed sarcastic original comment.

I got the point just fine. You’re literally complaining about something that has an easy alternative to it.

ManMarmalade418d ago

I don't think you got the point

DankSinatra418d ago (Edited 418d ago )

@ManMarmalade

No I got it, it has to do with the push towards a future of all digital and reprocussions of losing games. Something I already stayed that hasn’t happened nor is it large enough right now to cause any issues as the games that are all digital are online only to begin with or make up the minority of games

So I’ll say it again, the disc still exists for these games that are over a decade old and can still be played easily. You guys are contradicting the whole “we don’t want a digital only future” crying when the dude I originally responded to stated:

“Read the article bro. They are delisting the games, including mirrors edge which is an offline game. Online servers i can understand, not being able to buy/download the games anymore? Completely separate issue, especially seeing as how some these games had lengthy sp campaigns and not just mp.“

So again, which is it? Do you hate all digital or do you want it?

Inverno419d ago

On PC I don't think it's much of a problem but I'm sad to see BF43 being shut down. I haven't played it in a while since it's stuck on PS3, but i preferred it way more over BF3. It was the lack of invisible barriers which made it better for me.

badz149419d ago

BFBC2 was still the best overall package offered by the franchise so far IMO

porkChop418d ago

Absolutely. BC2 was such a great game. It's a shame we never got BC3.

P_Bomb418d ago

I had a great run on Bad Company 2. Pound for pound, as solid a BF package as there’s been.

InUrFoxHole419d ago

Does anyone play the last BF anymore? I searched crossplay servers and it was 20 people the most on all the servers? Can never find a game

SonyStyled419d ago

The last BC you mean? I was still able to find 10v10 on ps3 2 years ago on NA servers during the evenings. I have all the free and paid dlc installed, but there want any matches in the Vietnam dlc.
