FASA Studio boss says, "I think the reviews on my game suck ass

Mitch Gitelman, head of Shadowrun developer FASA Studio, has given an awesome interview where he talks about the game's review scores: "I think the reviews on my game suck ass and I want to respond."

And he did, via OXM's podcast in a discussion that lasted 45 minutes. Many reviews hit the game for not shipping with enough maps and game modes for the full price asked for the title.

I played this on the 360 over at a buddies house, they ruined this game.
The game seems to open a ton of possibilities but doesn't go anywhere near them. They should have used another 6-12 months of dev time, and made the game what it should have been. Also from my understanding PC gamers hate this game. Which isn't all that un-expected!

The PRICE SUCKS ASS MITCH.

VaeVictus6168d ago (Edited 6168d ago )

I totally agree. The game has some fun elements, but it is no where near worth $60. $20-$30 possibly. If additional content is made available, it better be free. Otherwise, MS is raping it's consumers.

Rooted_Dust6168d ago

And it looked to me like a modified version of the Halo 2 engine, which for a new PC game, is not good. Also, the fact the they took a game that could be so rich in story line and character and turned it into a multiplayer only game seem like poor strategy.

ShiftyLookingCow6168d ago (Edited 6168d ago )

yeah its sad they made Unreal Engine 3.0 look like that.

[edit] sorry my bad, I thought it was made with UE3.0

eques judicii6168d ago

i'm actually pretty certain its not unreal 3... its not on the list of unreal 3 games at wikipedia and i remember them discussing developing their own engine...

while I agree that the game looks like crude... i think thats more the horrendous art style than the engine... i think the engine is decent (meh) but the art style kills the game.

God of Gaming6168d ago

Actually on another podcast mitch admits they used the Halo 1 engine and at one point had shadowrun working in blood gultch.

I love the game.. tons of fun but they need to add some content to help balance the price.

His games have something in common with M$'s xbox360,.....HAHAHAHA

ShadowRun - An Xbox 360 Classic Left to Rot

ShadowRun arrived in 2007 and is still played by a core audience on modern consoles and PC today, despite a bungled launch.

coolbeans135d ago

Played it a few months back. Not a stellar mp game at its time, but still genuine & janky fun.

Sciurus_vulgaris135d ago

I have never played Shadowrun. However, the universe of Shadowrun seems like a good setting for various game genres. The franchise combines traditional fantasy tropes with cyberpunk science fiction.

Rebel_Scum135d ago

Yeah since the megadrive game I’ve always thought how cool the setting and premise is but the game never really delivers on gameplay.

ocelot07135d ago (Edited 135d ago )

Really enjoyed this back on 360. Was one of the first pc games I played as well. Nice to see it's still online I'm going to have to see about getting a copy on pc again.

Edit: is this backward compatible with series X?

Gcayton1135d ago

Fun game... just not Shadowrun.

porkChop135d ago

The Shadowrun RPGs from Harebrained Schemes were great, but that IP is just begging for a massive, Cyberpunk 2077-style game. Open world action RPG epic with a healthy dose of immersive sim goodness.

shinoff2183132d ago

That could turn out really good for real.

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer163d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog162d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned162d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c162d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb162d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies162d ago (Edited 162d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal162d ago (Edited 162d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72162d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman162d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos162d ago (Edited 162d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows161d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.

Shadowrun 2007 almost had a System Shock-style singleplayer campaign

But Microsoft said no.

XiNatsuDragnel275d ago

I'm not surprised I hope if Microsoft is more open to these things.

anast273d ago

That would have been fun, so they said no.
