well, he was using iphone just as an example. He was saying a phone could never replace using the internet on a pc.

but otherwise, I wish the mobile version of internet explorer was a lot better. Microsoft, its really embarassing when a third party browser(Skyfire/Opera) beats the browser you made specifically for the device(pocket internet explorer). Its also embarassing when developers make the device look better than the actual OS(6.5vs6.5.1)

I can't wait for WinMo7(or Windows Phone as they call it now). It should see a lot of UI improvements, and hopefully a better stock browser. But for now, Ill stick with amazing opera on my ppc.

The internet predates the PC and the iPhone so how can anyone claim it was designed for either product?

It would be more accurate to say:

"The iPhone was designed for the internet but the PC was not."

Whereas the internet is fundamental to the iphone's functions, the internet was simply an add-on function for PCs. Anyone who remembers the good old days of unix email can testify to this.

I would not call the Ipod and Iphone a "fad", its more of a strong liking thats going to last a long time. For the Ipod it may or may not be the best deal but its well designed and it still has the friend factor going for it.

Lol @ the ps3 browser comments.. who gives a crap? I have both a 360 and ps3 and I still do 100% of out of game things via my comp.

Iphone while not designed for the internet, is without a doubt the BEST phone on the market for internet access and while it can't compare to a pc, it's as close as you will get to internet in your pocket. Plus zooming in and out of pages with it is fooking fun!
