I managed to get my hands on the RF copy of the 360 and the PC version and as shown the 360 version is the worst of both games! Graphic wise at least. The game itself is pretty decent but nothing new, same old hack and slash with the abilities to cook your own food(WHOOPEE!) anyways if you want a decent HnS game and if you have a PS3 system buy Demon Souls since that game is WAY better in every way.

The great thing about the PC is we aren't limited to 720P or below, trust me real 1080P or 1600P is gorgeous compared to 720P. If you had any sense at all you would know that Crysis is built differently from Uncharted 2, it's rendering a much larger world. This is the same as when Killzone 2 came out, everyone wanted to compare it to Crysis forgetting the key fact that Crysis doesn't push you down a narrow corridor. It does push you down a corridor but its far from narrow. But who am I kidding here? Expecting someone to see sense in N4G is about as hopeless as pushing a tree over with your bare hands.

PC: Far more powerful hardware, Higher framerates, Higher resolution, Anti aliasing beyond a piddly 2x and proper controls for the genre's that suit it. Deny it all you want but the consoles were behind from the outset and it's just going to get even more pronounced as time goes on.

I agree that my PC running Crysis at the best levels takes some beating(and hasn't been pushed by a console game really-not in all areas)but the resolution thing is a complete red herring.

I've really looked into it extensively with my monitors and HDTV purchases and unless the screen is, say, over 48" the human eye is every hard pressed to see the difference between 720p and 1080p and just how many of us have monitors that size?

Honestly I can't see the difference between games running on 1080p and 720p on either my monitor or my TVs-so much so, in fact, that when I bought my last plasma I saved by getting just a 720p set(for the spare room). Yes, there's a differenec but not even my son who has totally perfect 20/20(pilot standard!) vision can tell below 42" and even then he can't tell much when things get moving at all.

A powerful PC running the right game on a good sized monitor, however, will almost always hammer a console version-and even beat out PS3 exclusives in 80% of the areas we can judge(the PS3 does have tiny edges in some areas like pure number crunching but nearly all can be nagated by a good GFX card in a decent rig-as we all know)even though U2 and Kz2 have proved the PS3 can do great things given the chance and devs willing to work in new ways.

No need to get angry is there? Resolution differences, though, decrease hugely on smaller screens-it's just a fact and few gamers have PCs with vast screens.

You can tell me my eyes can't see the difference but I know instantly when the configs been reset and my resolutions been dropped. The sharpness in the image is completely lost at the 1280*768.

PC may render at a higher resolution... even though, the polygon count and textures quality don’t match that resolution... what you get is a very sharp but bland world.. In another words you have a very clear picture but very few details to really take advantage of that resolution… And besides I like to play in a television, so for now 720p is enough but don’t forget GT5 prologue is rendered at almost 1080p.

And don’t forget U2 renders a very large word too..

I agree they look nicer but is not a day to night difference.. To be honest the only game that i found in PC that truly stands out is Crysis but even thought only in High Settings in a very expensive rig it runs properly... because in a medium PC U2 takes it out easily...

That preview of alan wake was just Quad core and was several years before today. Think of what it would look like if they fully utilized
every aspect of the newer graphics cards (which support DX10.1)

If you run crysis warhead in maxed everything, full antiscopic filtering , 16x AA, on a monster rig it would make uncharted 2 look like halo 3

Eurogamer's English site got a lot of flack for only reviewing the game as a 360 one even though it was confirmed awhile ago that the 360 version was an outsourced port and it had control/graphics issues. Oddly enough that's what the review complained about mostly. If you look on Metacritic too the PC has an 80 average and the 360 version has a 60.

Risen is out in Germany since Thursday, 10/1. The publisher anounced a patch to fix the graphical problems... it's rumored to be 10 (!) gigabytes in size!

Been a pc gamer for years, but recently i've been impressed with the graphics of the PS3, I/e GT5P,UNCHARTED1&2,etc.

Other then a few titles, PC games don't really push graphics that hard, Crysis pushed it the most. And sold poor because you needed a very highend system to play it looking nice.

Crysis in low quality mode, looks worse then farcry.

But pc gamers will say, a 8800gtx will run crysis and it's cheap, it maybe cheap now, but it wasn't at the time for alot of people.

What i really find funny is the new GT300 is more like cell then anything.

I think if comparison shots for a multiplatform game are going to be done they should include the PC version. Not everything is about THE CONSOLE WARS wars.... Someone that has all three platforms (PS3, 360, PC) or a combo of 2 can see the differences. Of course the PC will look at least a little better but it will usual have mod support as well which is a nice bonus for some. As stated above when a game is exclusive for the PC the results are usually stunning (crysis). I'm sure the gap in visuals would have been even greater if it was exclusive. As usual it's exclusive that really get the most of said platform.
