IGN: "Like I said, there's really nothing particularly bad about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up (well, except for the dreadful Arcade Mode cutscenes). It's a fun, frantic fighting game that has a solid foundation. That foundation -- and I know I'm sounding like a broken record at this point -- is Smash Bros., and the designers don't make any effort to hide from that fact.
The game does a good job mimicking the classic fighter with TMNT characters, but in all honesty the game really just makes me want to play Smash Bros. instead. Smash-Up is a good game for those that really want a decent TMNT fighter, but it doesn't do a whole lot to make it its own experience."
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been on many consoles since it was released on the NES back in 1989. Many fans of TMNT who grew up during the late 1980s and early 1990s may have watched the TV show.
So do I and watched the 1987 TMNT on TV and video tapes. I had one video tape that had the Burger King Kid's Club promo.
Glad to hear that your kids also love TMNT.
Go ninja, go ninja, go!
From the original arcade game to the most current releases, Prima Games has you covered on the history of Ninja Turtles, dude.
ahhh i remeber this game on the snes, as far as memory can tell it was either this or battletoads doubledragon as the first game i laid eyes on since birth i was below the age of four, cant really remeber it well now lol
Turtles in Time is one if my favorite games ever. And it is probably the games I've beaten the most times. My cousin and I beat it dozens upon dozens of times to improve our completion time.
It was the perfect beat'em up game.
Still hope they revisit this franchise and give it the Batman Arkham City treatment.
GotGame: We take a retrospective look back at the TMNT games throughout the years. Not every game, mind you, but the key titles that have shaped their gaming history and why they helped or hurt the legacy of TMNT.
But I'm just not interested in this game. It's Smash bros with too few characters, and not as good looking. If they had dished out whatever money it took to team up with Jump and had TMNT vs. Naruto characters or something like that, then this thing would have sold through the roof. Smash Bros may be mostly limited to Nintendo characters, but it's a well rounded bunch from all across the Nintendo spectrum, and a good many to choose from. This game can't compare, and times are too tough for me to spend $50 on a game I will probably only play a few times for nostalgia sake. I'll just go boot up the SNES and play Tournament Fighters. That game holds up a bit, even to this day.
