I think he's wrong about the JRPG genre, i believe it will adapt and still retain alot of its uniqueness, hopefully FF13 will prove that.
But i can't wait for Dragon Age: Origins , best looking rpg for the ps3 to be released this year, also i gotta buy ff7 once they introduce ps store cards downunder.
