FIFA 10 - PS3 Vs 360 screenshots

Eurogamer Portugal published some exclusive screenshots comparing the two versions. Check them out.

If there's a difference I can't see it. Pretty impressive as far as parity goes but not much umprovement on lasr terms player models and the shirts aren't quite as realistic if anything.

Certainly no reason to go and alter your console of choice mind and I can barely rememver the last time a comparison showed a real difference which woukld-not since OB have I chosen to forego the PS3 and my favoured pad because of one.

Yes they are, if you look at the 9th, 10th and 11th pictures

but the other pictures are not fair comparisons, they're in different places with different weather conditions.

This time, for the first few pics they made sure that the 360 version was always in the sun so that the bloom effect would cancel out jaggies.

Well, they have had over two years of learning from the masters of 'teh 360 version looks better' clowns over at gametrailers to learn from:

Using higher compression on the PS3 images to the are the same size but colors and detail lowered

Using incorrect video hook ups and settings so the PS3 version looks washed out

Capturing PS3 screenshots at weird resolutions and then scaling them and introduction jaggies and other artifacts

Eurogamer made it look like the PS3 version had no lighting. Or the addition of lighting to the PS3 version posed too much of a problem the rookies who code this series.

This comparison is pure BS. I really cant understand why eurogamer does it this so openly. I mean id like to say that they arent biased, but they keep proving that they are.

I would however say that by looking at the few screenshots that actually seemed fair that the 360 version looks just a little bit sharper.

I just looked at these shots and was shocked. Look at the whole picture. Every 360 shot looks typical 360 glossy (in real life I've never seen glossy) and the overall pictures from player to grass to crowds show a big difference. I will give EA credit on the work because it's obvious they have good, seperate teams on each console. Now I'm not sure if you guys know this but the 360 is not a real HD system and therefore its graphics are not in widescreen. From most of these shots it's obvious as usual. Ever wonder why the 360 graphics make guys that always seem skinny and sharp like sticks? Well it's because the black bars on the sides of the screen aren't there, but everything else is designed to fit like they were so everything is squeezed in. The 360 upscales. It didn't release with HDMI. But oh well, sounds like a bunch of people in this thread prefer non-HD graphics.

Please do tell, I'm really curious to see the short list of unbiased sites who haven't been paid off by micro...do they all have ps in the url?...oh, wait nevermind I forgot every site hates sony...except when its a pro-sony news article or another "let's analyze the same old rrod story"....its a damm shame everybody's out to get sony, how dare them put a ! at the end of the title for a 360 game and not put !! at the end of the title of a ps3 game, its only 'cause their biased. It seems that whenever we hear some negative press about anything ps3, a horde of ps3 fanboys jumps onto n4g to defend, damage control, instigate conspiracy theories, boycott reputable websites and generally cry foul.

Yet, when we hear some positive news about anything ps3, the same people forgot to apply the same logic!

It is sad to see so many one-eyed fanboys part of the gaming community.

Having said that, I think the screenshots look remarkably similar, if different lighting conditions are taken into account.

I'd like to see a side-by-side video to make a proper judgement.

because it was taken from a different spot in a different stadium. There is no light source in some of the PS3 shots due to the stadium architecture.

I like the fact that Electronic Arts has gotten better at making PS3 games now i won't think about buying it for PS3 instead of 360 because i really can't tell a difference anymore and my BluRay won't scratch

Yeah they do, its hard for them to get scratched BUT they do none the less.........i accidentally scratched Killzone 2 BUT the marks seem internal and not on the outerlayer ohh and they arent game breaking scratches just small little marks THANK GOD......even so i cried since i love Killzone 2.

I think you need your eyes testing because the black goalkeeper looks the same on both.However the other black guy is much darker on the PS3 version probably because its cloudy in that shot.

this game isn't about graphics. It's cool when they are nice and they are nice on both systems. But FIFA always looked much better than PES but PES had the much better gameplay and that is the point. But now both games are nearly on the same level.

I like how in the first few pictures, Eurogamer made sure to use 360 shots from sunny days and PS3 on cloudy days.

The last few show them under similar weather conditions which shows that they're practically identical.

Pizzagaki, I think you mean a higher level of contast. On a cloudy day, there aren't as many levels of contrasting light compared to a sunny day.

Sunny days have extreme light (sun) and low light (shadows and darker areas).

Cloudy days have little sun light to shows these extremes in light and shadow.

This is very basic knowledge.

I think I like the lighting on the 360 version better. And the textures on the shirt sponsors look cleaner........I do like ATi but that's just me.
But all in all, FIFA is crap anyway, it's all about PES.

How could anyone think for one second that the 360 has better resolution, lighting, graphics or anything else for that matter. All these games claim to be in HD, but the 360 does not even support Blu-Ray which is real HD. DVD9 = NO REAL HD! Maybe compressed HD.

As per usual on all multiformats the 360 & PS3 will be identical apart from the PS3 will be more jaggie. Disagree all you like it's a fact, they still cant get the jaggies sorted out unless it's a sony exclusive, when they are alot better.

No suprises. Xbox edges it once again. The crowd looks sharper on 360 and and the playstation version seems to suffer from more jaggies as per usual. PS3 doesnt seem to do so well with filtering either from what I can see.

Eurogamer are not trying to give the 360 an advantage, both demos are slighty different in terms of time of day and stadium etc. Neither are particularly impresive looking anyway, so I wouldn't cry about it either way.
