Msxbox-World:
"There's no denying that Capcom's running the town this year. Beloved franchises such as Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Bionic Commando all saw new entries into their canon; not to mention Street Fighter IV sold like hot cakes when it was released. Expectedly, the giant developer also decided to play ball on the Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) side of things, releasing a not-so-rehashed version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (MvC2) for those that crave a sprinkle of nostalgia and a whole dose of flashy, flamboyant, epilepsy-inducing game. To call MvC2 a geek's gaming wet dream wouldn't be too far off."
Kotaku: “Amingo was an original character introduced in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. He was part of a gentle race of plant people. He was good and he was my friend. Capcom killed Amingo in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and I will never forgive it.“
If they hadn't got rid of Amingo then Kotaku would instead be writing screeching articles about how Amingo is an example of cultural appropriation and racism.
And I fucking dare any of them to deny it.
An unpopular character from a game 20 years ago did not return for for a game that's almost a decade old except for a cameo and of course Kotaku got offended by this...
MvC2 is making a surprise return to Evo 2020 and the community is buzzing about it. Here's why this seminal fighter is one of the most important ever.
Excellent article and I have to add that there is some restraint from high tier players to not abuse the infinite combos and exploits.
Pulling off an adaptation is no small feat. Here are 5 titles that have succeeded in the task of being great comic-book inspired video games.
