From the news:
"A Japanese computer-game called "Rapelay" is creating controversy in the world and is sold freely on the Internet and in some streets of São Paulo. The game simulates rape, pedophilia and abortion."
"We have forwarded several complaints to the Public Prosecutor against such games," says the director-president of the nongovernmental organization SaferNet Brazil, Thiago Tavares. The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) noted the existence of the game by a warning from the judge of the 16th Vara Criminal Court of São Paulo Felippe Kenarik Bouijkian, part of the Group for the Study of Abortion.
The case is investigated by the Prevention of Cyber Crime of the MPF. But, according to federal prosecutor Sergio Suiama, one of the difficulties to open a criminal investigation is that Brazilian law does not typifies simulated sexual abuse of children, adolescents and adults."

Saif from eXputer inquires, "Despite the everlasting popularity of the genre, why hasn't there been a good AAA horror game in a while now?"
Even when they do it's first person trying to copy Outlast, Five Nights, P.T etc
I think the Dead Space / RE2 / RE4 Remake and the Evil Within 2 showed you can have a good story based, third person survival horror game.
"In a time when companies don't care about preserving games, I have high respect for the creators of projects like N64: Recompiled." - Hanzala from eXputer.
Some food for thought:
Would you donate your physical copy of a really rare/expensive cartridge (Conkers's BFD, Bomberman 64 Second Attack, Ogre Battle 64, the two Castlevania titles, etc) to those managing this project for the greater good of getting them preserved online for all to experience at some point?
The snippet of ray tracing at the end of the og trailer was low-key amazing. I found out thanks to Nerrel who also made a texture pack for MM, and i can't wait to see how much more great this game will be in the near future. With model swaps, ray tracing, retextures, and a more quicker process than decompilation, it's gonna bring new life to N64 games.
There might need to be a bit of clarification recompilation is not the same as decompilation.
This is basically a container to excite the rom within but allows for all sorts of beat additions and tricks like new lighting effects such as ray tracing to be added.
But decompilation would ultimately be king as it allows for a widespread porting capabilities and uses the assets from games to build a native install for PC or whatever the target system is e.g Mario 64 for PC or sonic mania for psvita / wii
They don't make games like this anymore.
Too dated in my book. The AI is way too unpredictable to be acceptable today. It's definitely a game of its time.
I had a good time with the game. It is a product of its time. But when it came out it was a must have game for a lot of people. I wish Ubisoft would make another game in the series or at least a reboot.
Due to the lack of modern stealth games, and me constantly playing the MGS series, I've been looking for alternative stealth games to play, and went back and re-played the SC series recently. I wouldn't call SC1 or SC:PT masterpieces, there are AI issues, they're very much trial-and-error games, and that can lead to a lot of frustration. I also found the stories in this series to be boring, uninteresting, and just sloppily told. Cinematics are also of poor quality for both in-game scenes and CG cut-scenes, the soundtrack didn't leave any impression on me either.
Chaos Theory is better, but there was still a lot of room for improvement, and Double Agent (old gen ver.) was a sloppy mess that ended up a regression from CT. But still, at least they tried back then, these days Ubi-junk doesn't even try to make good games!
I downloaded that game a few weeks ago. Waste of time.
