Grant writes: "I caught up with PETA to discuss the topic of animal cruelty in Palworld, which has been a point of contention among some members of the community."

These clowns think game studios will listen to them😂

VenomUK114d ago

Their activism means something and can make a real difference.

Following Peta’s campaign to stop whaling in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, I completely stopped whaling in the game. Not one more whale life did I take - but that may be partially related to me completing the campaign and not going back.

Some did not catch on to your sarcasm. A bit touchy they seem lol.

ocelot07114d ago

I rage quit that game I was constantly attacked and eaten by sharks while swimming. But since peta guilt tripped me into not harming the pixelated sharks I gave up. Sames goes for sea of thieves.

I understand you were joking. Don't worry.

I only bought as I thought it was just a whale hunting game. didn't realise there was anything else to do in the game. Still it's a fun game for sure.

Relientk77115d ago

PETA is bored so they say something stupid again lol

PRIMORDUS114d ago

I think they don't get outside much LOL

Relientk77114d ago

The animals they try to protect do lol

Amplitude114d ago (Edited 114d ago )

They didn't even say anything. I don't even know why they replied. This guy messaged them asking for a statement about the game to write this specific article and all they said was:

"PETA has already heard from many Palworld fans who have no interest in eating ‘Pals’ and want a vegan guide created for the game.
It’s ‘Veganuary’ after all, and gamers want to help animals by eating vegan in their game worlds and outside."

The hell else are they gonna say?
Anyway it's clear that PETA's old statements about things like Super Meat Boy were exaggerated goofy clickbait to sucker people into showing them what's up with the meat industry. Every time you beat a level in Super Tofu Boy it tells you facts about factory farms, for example. It's kind of clever and every time gamers make fun of it by sharing links to Super To-... *sigh*

Ah, I don't care. You're all correct my fellow N4G people who didn't click the article. PETA's so dumb hating on video games all the time boooooo Peta mmmm bacon hahahaha bacon is so good check out my Bacon boxers I eat extra meat when vegans are around to nullify their efforts and always ask them if they want extra MEAT on their food when they're eating within a 20ft radius of me :)

andron114d ago

Yeah, how about concentrating on Real World Animals Welfare instead of wasting time on pixels guys......

jambola114d ago

The more you learn about peta
It's probably best for real animals if they just stick to whining about virtual animals

LoveSpuds114d ago

Of course, you read the article where this arsehole contacted PETA just so he could write this pathetic non-story to rile people up. You are falling for the oldest trick in the book and have been completely manipulated.

If this bellend hadn't contacted PETA they would never opined on the game, but if a 'journalist' reaches out for comment then they are going to respond. I ask you, what do you thing they are going to say?

EnricoPallazzo113d ago

You are correct that this article is dumb clickbait. That doesn't nullify that PETA is, at best, useless hypocritical assholes (don't want medicines derived from animals, such as INSULIN but then turn around and defend using insulin so they don't die; don't want people owning pets, no live animals used in movies, etc) or at worst PETA animal shelters kill upwards of 71 to 83% of the animals they take in. There are news reports of PETA animal shelters dumping dead puppies in dumpsters.

GamingSinceForever114d ago

I just finished playing CyberPunk and I mowed down at least 200 human beings. No one is speaking up against cruelty to humans in video games so imagine how stupid PETA looks with this.

anast114d ago (Edited 114d ago )

I get it and I think PETA is stupid. Nevertheless, the other side of the argument could be that humans have chosen to voluntarily give up their likeness for the sake of entertainment, other animals in the animal kingdom have zero choice in anything. Next, no one will speak out against cruelty to humans, in this context, because humans have a monopoly on cruelty when it comes to the natural world, usually this is how it works with the apex groups. Last, it is only humans that decide what is cruel and what is not, which is based solely on opportunity.

LoveSpuds114d ago (Edited 114d ago )

PETA would never have commented on this, but were obliged too the moment this utter joke of a 'journalist' contacted them for comment. I would be very interested to see exactly what he wrote to PETA in order to get the response he wanted just so he could manipulate you into getting frustrated. It's the oldest trick in the book, make up a story that would never have arisen if you (the journalist) hadn't started the narrative in the first place.

anast114d ago

@LoveSpuds

So far, the first person to make sense, mostly. But, I am not sure who is "you" that is getting frustrated.

FIELDMARSHALL_P114d ago

At least 200, you make me feel like I committed genocide in the game compared to you lol.

anast114d ago (Edited 114d ago )

@Field
Trying to see different sides of arguments shouldn't make anyone feel anything. I am not even sure how to take this.

@Kwiet
"Found the mole"

Found another person that doesn't know how to make an argument. Imagine that... Also my comment about ALF isn't exactly hidden underground. At least, take some amount of time to understand the metaphor.

Markdn114d ago

And this my friend is the only truth, it's a game it's not real, I'm not gonna buy a boat and hunt some whale ffs.

LoveSpuds114d ago

Go read the story, the guy contacted them for comment, they would never have issued a statement in the firstplace if this anus hadn't contacted them.

I mean, they should get flack. They stole designs and art, as well as used AI. They also did the same thing when it came to their other game which was a ripoff of Hollow Knight

Christopher10d ago

All claims of stealing assets were from someone who modified assets to make them look the same AFAIK.

Michiel198910d ago

most games are ripoffs of something with their own spin on it, except we call it iterating. As long as the so called "rip offs" are fun and good, I'm all for it.

Delete all your social media. The majority of people playing your game don't care what people are saying.
