If you know, you know. It would be easy to give this a good "whoosh!" but it's very esoteric humor.

iRacing is hands down the simulator standard for pros and eSports. They also use it in driver training and its the primary software in most high-end/pro simulator rigs.

GT7 is still a game first. and yes the physics in iRacing are some of the best in the world and it's totally customizable. and is open ended so 3rd parties can add tracks, cars etc. I also think the new Forza MS is better than GT7 too. Especially if you have a wheel setup and follow the guides found online for simulation settings. GT7 is great and I really do enjoy it (and own it and play it regularly), but it's not the best... and honestly it's a little corny. This is definitely my wheelhouse. I race (as a hobby) in real life, and am a total gearhead. I mean, I'm into cars and racing as much as smokers are into cigarettes.

No. iRacing is not as good a game. Maybe it has some advantages such as the ability to mod but also less content by default and lower standards overall. GT7 is the very best.

Honestly I think my favorite change is the event tracker icon and new layout that shows what percentage you've completed in each one. Just being able to see my progress presented that way has actually motivated me to want to 100% all of them. Great job Polyphony!

Now please give me Seattle and Rome!! Only one city track in this game is ridiculous! Also more NASCAR tracks would be cool! Atlanta, Bristol, Talladega, Charlotte, etc.

The thing that stops GT7 being considered an outright SIM, isn't the realism of the driving, it's the additional stuff surrounding the race itself. The options and interoperability with peripherals and all the other things that go along with it. It's easy to sneer at it because it's a console game, but the driving experience itself can be very realistic with all the assists turned off.

I watched a very detailed analysis of the driving by a real life GT3 driver. Where he compared the driving experience to iracer and he said that he preferred iracer overall, but if anything the physics of GT7 were a little less forgiving.

Never in a million years should GT7 and Forza be considered in the same class. Forza is much more simcade.

People like to gatekeep these kind of things. Of course all the pros and eSports use iracer. It's the most comprehensive sim. Why wouldn't they use it. But that doesn't stop GT7 being a realistic, but more limited experience on the track

I haven't played in a very long while and jumped in over the weekend after reading about a snow track. I was wondering how much they could have changed the game since dirt already felt like snow in the game. After a couple goes with a FWD and a RWD in CO Springs, I think they improved on the dirt a lot. It could be me just being more lenient on the game but dirt feels a LOT better now. Any one else have a take on that?

Yes it is. Sophie is great! The races are more exciting with tougher AI and more human like opponents. I’ve beat the game but there’s still so much more to do.

I can only hope for 2 things, gt7 comes to pc which will probably not or Forza gets as good as gt7, one can only hope right?...
