Tech demo looks great but when will it be released and fully playable?

To have a tech demo this many years later after initial production extremely sketchy to me and most likely means the game is still many many years away from launch if it ever gets there.

I understand the scope of what they are attempting to do but at some point you release the game and add on to it , not add on to it during production forever.

Squadron 42 is feature complete and is now in the polishing phase. They released a whole video about that. Most of the tech they showed off the last two days was / is being developed for SQ42 and is now getting ported over to SC over the next 12 months.
As for "fully playable", you're gonna have to be more specific. The game is playable now and is constantly growing. This will not change until the servers shut down and CIG closes shop.

What would consider a launch for this? Do you mean a marketing campaign and release date announcement? Check out some posters on YouTube. The gane has launched long ago

Wait !! What ? No news of STAR Citizen surpassing the Billion dollars funding? This feels like the same as the Malboro guys offering free smokes at a kindergarten garden. I pass and wake me up when this is actually released and has a price for purchase, if reviews scores are 10 or above I might buy... I might.

Star Citizen showcases the creation of the two brand-new animals coming to alpha 3.23

Land on any planet in Star Citizen currently and you’ll be greeted by things like weather patterns, flora, and very possibly a derelict or two. What you won’t find are any animals, however. That’s going to change with alpha 3.23’s release, as CIG has finally put together two animals to populate certain planets. That’s not quite three, but it’s more than one!

Two brand-new animals? Fantastic. This game should be ready by the time the Vault Dwellers come out from their Vaults Two Hundred years after the Apocalypse.

Any minute now...
