It's an extra feature to sell headsets. But AR does nothing for VR. They're two different things. One allows you to interact in the real world. The other allows you to become submersed in a virtual world.
Quest 3 games will eventually get better than the updated versions of Quest 2 games. But they won't hold a candle compared to made from ground up console or PC VR games. But at least stand alone will look better than PSVR did on base PS4.
He skirted the question when asked about price. "Well, when you get it and see all those games you can play from BC, then it would be worth it." Or something like that.
The question was if it will sell as well to the mass market now that it costs $500 and $650. PS VR 2 was being called expensive at $550 for PS5 owners. Now a lot of these journalists, gamers and bloggers are ducking and dodging the price issue when it comes to this headset.

You still have to be able to afford the headset first to get to those games that also aren't cheap to buy. Even the accessories aren't cheap to buy.
Seeing Eleven Table Tenis using AR is quite impressive but we're still at the early stages of what AR could offer when mixed with some VR ideas.
I thought the whole idea is to escape your reality?
At least it is for me, I really don't want to stare at my living room in VR.
Price is too much for most people.
