Hands on with 30XX, the Roguelike Platformer Launching on Switch and PC in August [Co-Optimus]

"Practically every style of game gets a roguelike interpretation nowadays. 30XX is the sequel to 20XX, and both games are heavily inspired by Capcom's Mega Man series. After spending a couple of years in Steam Early access, 30XX is finally graduating to full release status on Steam and also launching on Switch in August," says Co-Optimus.

Shame there skipping the ps, I enjoyed 20xx

eastx304d ago

I think they'll bring it to PlayStation and Xbox later on. Seems like the first game didn't launch on everything at the same time.

Now that you mention it , I think your right. It wouldn't make sense to not come to xbox and ps at some point. Forget sometimes smaller indies gotta have a harder time developing for 3 consoles at the same time.

30XX Gets a New Combo Ranged/Melee Character Called Delta

"30XX is one of the best roguelikes out there, combining the tight platforming action of the Mega Man X series with the challenge and randomization that roguelike fans crave. Batterystaple Games has done lots of refinement through updates since 30XX first appeared on Steam Early access a few years ago. The latest such update adds a new character for free, one who combines the best attributes of the two existing characters. Also, the Steam version is on sale, making it a great time to travel to the distant year of 30XX!" says Co-Optimus.

30XX Co-op Review: The Mega Man X-Style Roguelike, Refined

"Capcom has shown precious little interest in keeping the Mega Man franchise alive, hence it’s up to indie developers to carry the torch. Chief among those developers is Batterystaple Games, whose well-received 20XX started on PC and made its way to consoles over time. After a period of early access, the sequel, 30XX has fully launched on Steam and Switch. The new game offers lots of new levels, weapons, and mechanics; a level creator, and 2-player local and online co-op support. It’s everything a Mega Man fan could want, but old-school difficulty limits the game’s accessibility," says Co-Optimus.

Good thing it has a non-Roguelike mode, then.
