Fable was a cute little cutscene with no real gameplay and Avowed looks like a cheap chinese mobile skyrim clone. Have the people writing these articles ever played a Playstation first party game? Xbox has a loooong way to go to catch up to their quality.

Shane Kim359d ago

Starfield does look good though. But they have a long way to even compete with Sony.

Gunstar75359d ago

The showcases sees to suggest otherwise

Gunstar75359d ago

Had Sony or any of its acquired studios ever even attempted a game as deep as starfield?

I'm not an RPG fan and was "meh" about starfield, but only an idiot would deny it looks very interesting after watch the showcase special

"Starfield does look good though. But they have a long way to even compete with Sony."

I´m just glad that Phil is delivering on his vision for Xbox, by making Xbox Series consoles generation the best Xbox generation of consoles in history!

Unbelievable amount of hate, FUD and people asking for his head and trashing XGS. I

I had trusted his vision for Xbox since 2014 to save Xbox and make it better. It took almost a decade but his plans for Xbox is finally coming to fruition, and I love the direction Xbox is heading.

Since he no longer has a goal for Xbox Series consoles outperform both Nintendo and Sony´s console in sales, I not longer care whether Xbox will "beat" Playstation in sales or not. I just want it to be the best consoles for us, Xbox gamers.

After the last Playstation Showcase, I come to realize that I don´t like the direction Sony is going with its current plans for the next few years, my opinion might change once new and interesting PS5 upcoming games get announced and released, but until then, I´ll stick with Xbox which will have tons of games and games genres that I prefer.

I don´t if Xbox ends up in third or fourth or whatever as long as Phil and the Team Xbox continues to invest and deliver awesome games and keep us on the loop for everything Xbox related so the hype never fades.

Finally, awesomeness truly starts for us in September. Great time for being an Xbox gamer.

thorstein359d ago

Absolutely. And I am going to grab Starfield for my PC.I'll grab Fable for the PC as well.

MIDGETonSTILTS17358d ago

Starfield was more than halfway through its development cycle before Xbox bought it….

They are yet to show a track record for making great games from scratch in 6 years or less each.

Prime157358d ago

I see a lot of hype.

No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk come to mind.

I just want good games.

FinalFantasyFanatic358d ago

@Prime157
Yeah, I can see this happening, I'm half expecting it at this point.

Sephiroushin358d ago

@gunstar75

deep?! why do people keep talking about it like it's something super unique when It's just a clone of no man's sky with a different paint job, the worlds/planets are probably make through IA even if the dev says otherwise especially now when they have become super easy to make though IA, the gunplay is clunky it needs better work etc, do not get me wrong I love starfield but it's because i love these kind of games, although its nothing special when no man sky has billions of planets vs 1000

Yea we’ve all played Sonys 5 different over the shoulder crying simulators and they’re really good

garos82358d ago

not as good as red fall mate

Reaper22_359d ago

Sony does have good exclusives but so does Microsoft. Sony doesn't have anything that competes with Starfield. The scale of that game is on another level.

Magog359d ago (Edited 359d ago )

Wide as an ocean deep as a pond. 995 randomized planets and 5 maybe worth exploring. Dreams has literally infinite potential.

tay8701358d ago

Eh, maybe just not my kind of game but its looks boring to me. Its good that xbox finally has some good looking games coming out, but I trust sony studios WAY more than xbox. Xbox won the summer games showcases by default because Sony didn't even show up. Xbox, even though they was next to zero gameplay outside of starfield, really showed a nice sizzle real. Hoping sony will stop sitting on their hands and will do the same this fall

MontyeKristo358d ago

@Magog - Eh, very skeptical and negative outlook you have there. Don't reaaaally know anything about the game but apparently have a lot of assumptions, already.

GhostScholar358d ago

Starfield looks good but to say Sonys exclusives can’t compete is borderline comical, and I’m an Xbox guy.

I saw gameplay. What do you mean by no real gameplay? There were obvious in-engine clips shown in the trailer.

MIDGETonSTILTS17358d ago (Edited 358d ago )

*In-engine*

Not “in-game”.

Nintentional358d ago

Bro just buy an Xbox already. You spend more time on Xbox articles than you do playing your sony consoles 😂😂

SeTTriP358d ago

Sony being incredible since the ps1 is boring news and we want to be entertained.
But being a trillion dollar company and this incompetent now that's entertainment.

And this is the same'ol tired narrative every gen.its amazing how the fanbase thinks one game is going to make a difference when Sony has been producing bangers sine 1998.

"Xbox Series X|S Has Finally Found Its Edge Over PlayStation 5"

-Uhm no it hasn't, I prefer Xbox but Xbox needs to deliver consistently thats all....and although the ps loyalists won't admit it both console makers have had years where things were pretty dry THAT SAID, Sony up until recently or most of this gen has been MORE consistent. Right now it looks like Microsoft is on the right track BUT I wouldn't call it an edge, I'd call it good for all gamers bc whether I prefer Xbox or not competition with Sony is why they have to deliver & vice versa.

They defiantly seem to have the edge in astroturfing. Although they always have, since MS started pumping their $ into that.

Neither link works. What are they supposed to say?

Examples of astroturfing ...
I'll try another paste.

Until games actually come out and are brillant then simply no.

As it stands currently its been since November 2021 that Ms has dropped a AAA game of note for me to play. Let that sink in for a moment November 2021!!!!

Effectively it will have been 2 years between a quality AAA release from Ms by the time starfield drops.

I don't want to hear shit about Ms winning until I can point to atleast a solid 2 yrs of them dropping quality titles consistently and if they can't do that find a way to secure big 3rd party exclusives that give me a reason to turn my xbox on over my ps.

Does the future look bright sure it does, but that's where it starts and ends for me.

Time to bloody deliver for once and until that happens consistently i ain't giving them there flowers just yet

Starfield and forza are a great way to start making it things up to us, but that should just be the start.

Gaming QA Workers Say They Were Laid Off For Trying To Unionize

The Communication Workers of America filed a claim with the National Labor Relations Board alleging that a Microsoft-affiliated studio laid off 160 QA workers due to unionization efforts.

An interesting development could potentially illuminate the reasons. Additionally, the fact that the largest union in gaming consists of 300 employees is concerning.

Christopher3h ago

If this is true, this would go against Microsoft's agreement that they would remain Union-neutral with the purchase of ABK.

porkChop3h ago

This is a separate contractor that isn't owned by Microsoft though. They can't force another company to allow its workers to unionize.

Christopher3h ago

But they can allow them to lay them off while alleviating the work load they still need to do in order to aid in that decision. If the contract company unionizes, that's more costly for Microsoft as well or they'd have to use something else that would mean getting that new contractor up to date on where the old teams were. Not unionizing benefits Microsoft because it keeps contractor costs down.

It's honestly a thing CWA needs to assess. But this is also news Microsoft doesn't need with FTC still looking for a reason to break up the current purchase.
