I had trusted his vision for Xbox since 2014 to save Xbox and make it better. It took almost a decade but his plans for Xbox is finally coming to fruition, and I love the direction Xbox is heading.

Since he no longer has a goal for Xbox Series consoles outperform both Nintendo and Sony´s console in sales, I not longer care whether Xbox will "beat" Playstation in sales or not. I just want it to be the best consoles for us, Xbox gamers.

After the last Playstation Showcase, I come to realize that I don´t like the direction Sony is going with its current plans for the next few years, my opinion might change once new and interesting PS5 upcoming games get announced and released, but until then, I´ll stick with Xbox which will have tons of games and games genres that I prefer.

I don´t if Xbox ends up in third or fourth or whatever as long as Phil and the Team Xbox continues to invest and deliver awesome games and keep us on the loop for everything Xbox related so the hype never fades.

Finally, awesomeness truly starts for us in September. Great time for being an Xbox gamer.

-Uhm no it hasn't, I prefer Xbox but Xbox needs to deliver consistently thats all....and although the ps loyalists won't admit it both console makers have had years where things were pretty dry THAT SAID, Sony up until recently or most of this gen has been MORE consistent. As it stands currently its been since November 2021 that Ms has dropped a AAA game of note for me to play. Let that sink in for a moment November 2021!!!!

Effectively it will have been 2 years between a quality AAA release from Ms by the time starfield drops.

I don't want to hear shit about Ms winning until I can point to atleast a solid 2 yrs of them dropping quality titles consistently and if they can't do that find a way to secure big 3rd party exclusives that give me a reason to turn my xbox on over my ps.

Does the future look bright sure it does, but that's where it starts and ends for me.

It's paid shilling. With continued guarantees that these bloggers that call themselves journalists, still have access to Microsoft when they want to beg for free game codes instead of banned. Advertising dollars for clicks knowing that if they put down Sony or the fan base, they can generate revenue from the back and forth. Some even know it's not truth being told.

But, I'd say it's much better than the days of 360 where Microsoft gave out swag bags and free laptops to journalists, sites like game trailers had PS3 videos that were captured badly to make Sony look bad. Some comparison videos were even from the same console and editors forgot to remove the controller from the bottom. Ad banners all over pages from IGN to Gamespot but trying to act unbiased. Magazines like EGM that threw tomatoes at PS3 on the cover.

I'm still glad PS4 shut all their mouths with games, sales, VR, etc And the media couldn't put out fake videos when Sony allowed gamers to post videos that you could view on other consoles. I think some are still upset that Sony bypasses the media and deals directly with the consumer to negate the lies, misleading statements and ridiculous puff pieces.

So many of these articles lately, desperate to put a positive spin on an otherwise very empty state and bleak outlook overall. So much copium huffing.

If you may remember, Microsoft stated in 2021 that this year was going to be their year. While most thought it was ridiculous to have a console be dry of exclusives for two whole years, the faithful decided to wait it out diligently. Now, we are halfway through the proclaimed "year of games" and the reward for waiting all this time was Redfall, the almost complete abandoning of getting actual games out in favor of acquiring ActiBlizz, and eventually Starfield. I would personally be furious if I waited that long and still have nothing.

It is one single game that has entirely too much riding on it and can't single-handedly steer the ship out of the Dagobah swamps. No amount of corporate shilling and copium redirecting is going to change the actual problem at hand: Microsoft not properly focusing its gaming outlook.

If they weren't currently tied up with all the ActiBlizz acquisition nonsense, a lot more games might have actually been delivered this year with Gamepass Day 1 and all. You cannot tell me otherwise without lying to yourself. Almost every single thing that people were waiting on in this current generation has been delivered on with the exception of all of Microsoft's catalog.

Fable? Three years of nothing, then another "in-engine" nothingburger to keep people sated that it's not dead, no release date.

Avowed? Doesn't come close to resembling it's announcement trailer, is more like Killzone 2 reveal trailer vs actual Killzone 2. Looks like a heavily modded Skyrim, and release year with no concrete date.

Hellblade 2? Still no concrete release date, mostly nothingburgers and will likely just be a very good looking on rails QTE experience. (There's no way that gameplay trailer wasn't a QTE segment with the prompts removed)

Perfect Dark? Should we even expect it to make it out at all at this point? This one is probably the worst off.

Not only have you been lied to by a company known for it and criminally underdelivered on this entire generation so far, rather than decry MS for this the fanbase continues to line up for the next shot on their chin and moved goalpost of "see, see?! We're not wrong or deluded or crazy, we told you so" whenever a modicum of good news comes forward.

These corporations aren't our friends and they don't care about us over their bottom line. Not MS, not Sony, not Nintendo, Valve, or anyone. They'll cannibilize the industry with GaaS, acquisitions, subscription services, and lawsuits/C&D's well before they take our worries to heart. We are responsible for placing our chosen console maker upon their imaginary thrones, and we should also be responsible for kicking them off it when they act up.

As for your question, pretty good so far actually. FF7 Rebirth will be a nice strong start. Before you put forth "lol Sony has nothing next year", keep in mind that everything they have announced prior to now has either already released or has a -concrete- date. Unannounced games also do not equate to announced but unreleased games.

A better question would have been about Nintendo's slate, but it always has to be about Sony and the theoretical nothing you hope to see but never do... unless you're looking at Xbox.

For starters we don't know if Sony will tell us what's coming in 2024 at all. Second Hell Blade 2, Flight Simulator 2 and Towerborne are releasing in 2024 also.

Wolverine, DS2 are possibilities. Phantom Blade 0 I doubt will be out next next year. Foam stars is previewing well if you're into it. Factions is a long shot for a 2024 release.

The reality is that you have console fanboys that are into the console war and then you have gamers that just don't buy up b******* PR. You'll obviously have preferences as to where you would rather play your games based on each platform strengths but that's the same in any situation and it doesn't make you a fanboy. The problem with Xbox is that they have never committed to making good games or creating new IP and they continue not to commit to that. With Xbox. All other gamers have lost. They are brute force in their way into relevance by grabbing up popular IP. This is what pisses me off as a long time Xbox fan who wanted them to create memorable Halo experiences and memorable gears experiences. I wanted them to create new IP with rare that would remind me of the Nintendo 64 era. They did nothing of the sort and continue not to strive for that and instead just buy up IP. You don't seem to understand the problem here. What happens to Sony "fanbase" when destiny was bought...was anyone happy? No. It was unexpect just like the senimax purchase but in contrast nobody was happy. It was a bad purchase. Same reaction if they buy square or Capcom. It wouldn't be good for gamers. But Xbox fans as a whole seemed to be jumping with joy at these purchases...not because they bought studios but because of the studios that they bought. You all know full well how messed up it is. They went after established IP. I would say imagine if Sony went and purchased CoD to take it away from Xbox...but it's currently being done by Xbox. How about diablo 4...huge game too and they would've taken it off PlayStation consoles.

We all know Xbox has the money to build new studios and to raise up smaller studios. They chose to not do that. Look at the studios they did form... They're incapable so they went ahead and purchased enormous IP and devs. They know they can't build them so they bought them instead and did so at the cost of the majority of gamers.

What about all those years of conplaining about exclusivity purchases and times deals and so on? Was that all a lie? What Xbox did is essentially that but permanent. Don't pretend it isnt just cause you prefer Xbox.

In the end. Sure they got the studios now. I don't have to like it as a gamer. Not the way they went about achieving that. Super anti competitive. Wil still enjoy starfield as I would have before the purchase. Will still enjoy whatever arkane comes up with next, I'd tech, tequila, etc. Will still enjoy fable if it's true to the IP and especially if they let me create the character. Don't have to like Microsoft to enjoy good games. Same with Sony and Nintendo.

Starfield will be an intriguing upcoming scenario. Skyrim sold a whopping 60 million across all platforms. Starfield could be wonderful yet sell a third of that. Toss out Sony and Nintendo platforms (I doubt even Switch Too can handle this CPU intensive game) and include it free with a GP sub on Xbox/PC and MS might only sell 20mil lifetime on Steam/Xbox. What will the jump in sales for Xbox hardware/GP subs be for the launch month? Will they offset those aforementioned losses enough to placate MS stockholders? One game can completely turn around a publisher but a platform manufacturer with over a decade of mismanagement is another story.

Xbox having new exclusive games isn’t anything to applaud. This should’ve happened years ago. Instead MS took our money and laughed at us gamers like a bunch of suckers while the Xbox brand meddled. I guess it’s about time, but it took them taking over Bethesda for this to happen. Sony has been pumping out original IP’s from their in house studios for a good minute. Sony will even take some chances. For example, the game Horizon: Zero dawn. Sony could’ve played it safe and just had Guerilla make another Killzone. I’m not convinced until I play finished product. Don’t get me wrong, what’s on the Horizon (No pun intended) for xbox is promising and im looking forward to the next phase in the Xbox’s lifecycle

Now, if we are talking about just THIS generation, I can see this (To be fair Sony has not been up to the usual standards of previous generations so far. Lets be honest. Still great games though, but has been slower this gen so far). Even though this has been the case with PlayStation 5 so far this generation, 1 or 2 great games from Microsoft won't be quite enough, but at least this gives us some hope of a little competition for once.

As a gamer, I am HOPING Starfield is an amazing game.
