Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Is Being Held Back By The Nintendo Switch

Xenoblade Chronicles has always felt too ambitious for Nintendo platforms. Ever since the first game debuted for the Wii back in 2010, the series’ massive open worlds and bold approach to narrative have been hamstrung by technical limitations.

Everything is being held back by Nintendo Switch outdated specs.

NotoriousWhiz675d ago

Doesn't stop games made for the Switch from being fun though.

LOGICWINS675d ago

Nintendo has the best 1st party games of the big three IMO, but I can't spend $60 per game to play at 30fps anymore. I haven't purchased a new Switch game since I got my Series X.

“Doesn't stop games made for the Switch from being fun though.“

No but it stops them from having better frame rates and visuals.

thesoftware730674d ago

@Notor

Exactly, I would argue and say the 'Most' imo.

Even their old games, my 21yr, and 12yr sons play them in 2022 and have a blast.

"Nintendo has the best 1st party games of the big three IMO, but I can't spend $60 per game to play at 30fps anymore"

If they were that good you wouldn't care. Your logic doesn't win on this post.

DashMad674d ago

all consoles AAA game are 30 FPS nowadays, even on next gen you have to chose to sacrifice resolution for 60 FPS either 1080P 60FPS which is blurry in 4k monitor or 4K sometimesnot even 4K capped at 30FPS lmao.

Potato PCs seem to be holding things back as well IMO.

CrimsonWing69675d ago

What are potato PCs holding back? I heard the original Doom runs just fine on them.

That comment goes to show how little you know about pc gaming

# LOGICWINS

Naw Sony has the best first party games since PS1 and now. I would give Nintendo a second best, especially after they turn their backs on Sony that one ☝️ them 🆙 with a console of their own that has been plaguing Nintendo since. They should have taken the deal to merge with Sony way back then.

Michiel1989674d ago

really depends on what you want. If you want more casual games to play with friends, sony definitely wouldnt be my first choise when it comes to 1st party games. If i want thrilling games with a great story and get sucked into the world then id choose them.

thesoftware730674d ago

No one agrees with you, including me.

lol

Ashunderfire86674d ago

#thesoftware730

Lol I got 7 people who agrees with me🤣 silly 🙃 PlayStation owns Nintendo anyday and you know this.

Nintendo needs to catch up with a more updated console with 4K graphics and 60FPS or above. Things are going to look blurry and dated soon on the Switch so it’s time for a change. Even Xbox Series S dethrones Switch.

Now I am going to get Nintendo fans marching at my door 🚪 o boyyy🙃

brewin674d ago

It absolutely does. Although they are able to get some pretty impressive results from a lot of stuff. Mario Odyssey for example looks stunning and runs perfect. But I cannot help but wonder how much better games like BotW, Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade etc would run on PS5/Series X

thesoftware730674d ago (Edited 674d ago )

Unless developed by Nintendo, they would loose a lot of the magic.

You can even see this in the unreal engine Zelda demos on YouTube, stunning graphics but most seem so...empty.

Even in 2022, when I see Zelda:WW, it's still pleasing on the eyes with a great sense of whimsical-ness.

Bring the series to PC would rather play Xeno there than on my Switch.

King_Noctis675d ago

Now that I think about it, also bring every Ps exclusive to Pc! I would rather play those on PC as well.

CrimsonWing69675d ago

@King_Noctis

Not sure if you keep up with current events, bub… but that’s been the plan since Jimbo’s been in office.

badz149674d ago

@Noctis

It's already happening now. Not day 1 still but you just have to wait a little and get them cheaper than when they released on PS5 when they released on PC

repsahj675d ago (Edited 675d ago )

I enjoyed playing XC2 more on my switch than playing FF15 and Tales of Arise on my PS5. So this awesome game don't need a more powerful console to be great. So while waiting for God of War Ragnarok on November, I'm gonna take my time playing this beautiful game.

iplay1up2674d ago

The graphic style of Xenoblade X was much easier on the eyes than other Xenoblade games. It looked fantastic when it released. It still looks good today.

I would love to see a remaster on the next Switch. The Wii U only had 2mg of memory. Switch has 4, and I am hoping the next Switch has at least 12. I doubt it will have more than 8 though.

Smellsforfree674d ago

mg? 2 milligrams of memory? What is a mg of memory?

iplay1up2674d ago (Edited 674d ago )

Whatever I meant ram.
